The schismatics are Anti-Moshiach activists (1Y 2:18) who do not pay heed to Moshiach's Shlichim. These schismatics are not part of the Bechirim (Chosen ones, the Elect, see 2:19) and are not saved (5:1). That they are not born again is manifest by the fact that they lack love for both the Begetter (Hashem) and the begotten (the believers), in whose elect ranks the schismatics are not numbered. The schismatics are indeed arrogant nevi'ei sheker (4:1) and with their false doctrine are part of the G-d -opposing evil world, the anti-Moshiach world under Hasatan (5:19), a world of darkness that cannot be overcome except by saving faith (5:4), which these morei sheker lack. Yet, even so, they insist that the believers need THEIR teaching (2:27). And they do appear to have an impressive number of adherents (4:5). Small wonder, since the spirit of Anti-Moshiach is energizing them to go out into the world (2Y 1:7) and even to try to deceive the Bechirim (3:7), a turn of events about which Moshiach warned (Mt 24:24 and Mk 13:22). The seductive power that is in them is satanic (4:4). They have Satan's contemptuous and arrogant hatred of the Bechirim (2:9), a sinas chinom hatred of those who have conquered the evil one (2:13). What is so shocking is that these nobodies were not eyewitnesses of the Techiyas HaMoshiach (4:14 and 1:1-5) and yet they claim all the knowledge and all the expertise about Moshiach and proudly reject the eidus tovah of those who are in a position to know what they are talking about, namely, the very ones who were eyewitnesses from the beginning, the Moshiach's hand-picked Shlichim, one of whom is the author of this iggeret kodesh. The oft-repeated alpha-rho-khee-eetah-final sigma ("[from] the beginning") is ignored by those scholar-interpreters that gratuitously posit an unknown author, a pseudonymous "John" who obviously was not with Moshiach's ministry "from the beginning." This conjecture destroys the whole argument of the letter which has to do BOTH with those who are not representative of a true eye-witnessed apostolic testimony from the beginning AND with those who are also liars. If the auther is not Yochanan the talmid ha'ahuv Shliach then the author is himself what he is attacking in the letter. So our author is Yochanan the Shliach, the beloved disciple. And the tragedy is this: (unlike any posited unknown author) Moshiach's true Shlichim are eyewitnesses of what is of inestimable value: the Devar HaChayim, the Word of Eternal Life, the Word that was with Hashem in the Beginning. But these schismatics, these morei sheker, know nothing of the Ohr HaOlam. They make many claims, but they are in fact liars who walk in darkness and are strangers to the Derech Emes (1:6). To be a believer who will be like Moshiach at the Bias HaMoshiach (3:2) one must walk even now in the Light as Moshiach is in the Light (1:7); moreover, as the Holy One (Moshiach, 2:20; see Yn 6:69) is, so the believer must be in this evil world (4:17). And that means the believer must tolerate in himself NO DARKNESS AT ALL (1:5). So any idolatrous moreh sheker or any talmid of any moreh sheker, any one so deceived as to claim to be sinless is a liar (1:8). His idolatry is confirmed in that he prefers in his evil heart his own false doctrine over the Bible. By contrast, the heart of the authentic believer is vigilant (3:20) to convict him and bring the believer contrite to make viddui (confession of sin, 1:9). And with a contrite heart the authentic believer trusts in the tohorah from all averos, even the purification effected by the kaparah Moshiach made (1:7 and 4:10). In this tohorah true believers keep themselves pure (3:3) as Moshiach is tahor. On the other hand, the morei sheker don't have the ahavas Hashem because they don't obey Moshiach's mitzvos (2:5). They claim to know the Moshiach but the Moshiach they claim to know is a Moshiach sheker, a false Moshiach, who did not shed his blood (5:6 and 1:7). They know neither Hashem nor Hashem's Moshiach. They are empty talkers, loveless "Cain's" (3:12) (they do not love the brethren!) who are spiritually dead (3:14). They lack the Ruach Hakodesh (5:6 and 2:20). The truth is not in them (2:4). Hashem's Word of Eternal Life is not in them (1:10 and 1:1). The only thing in them besides idolatrous, arrogant pride is a stumbling block of deception that will make themselves and their followers stumble (2:10). These deceivers are not of Hashem and are not even shomer over the old mitzvah (Vayikra 19:18), much less the new, because they refuse to walk in the dawning Light of the Olam HaBah. They are worldly men lacking a spiritual relationship with Hashem (2:23). They also lack a share in the Olam HaBah. Their teaching source is not of G-d (4:5) and neither are their adherents (4:5). The world whose ear they have gained is passing away (2:17). They are proud, sensual and carnal (2:16). They are teachers from Satan with lusty eyes (2:16) who have not a clue regarding the ratzon Hashem (2:17) nor are their prayers of any avail according to the ratzon Hashem (5:14). They neither know Hashem nor recognize the Kadoshim of Hashem (3:1). They know nothing of the Moshiach (3:1) nor of the savlanut of the Moshiach's Kadoshim (2:19). The Truth is not in them. They make the absurd claim that the Moshiach did not come in the flesh (4:2). They make the proto-Gnostic claim that the spirit of Moshiach simply fell temporarily on the man Yeshua at Yeshua's tevilah in the mikveh mayim (5:6), but that Yeshua himself was never the Moshiach (2:22). So these morei sheker have a ruach tatu'im (a spirit of error). They reject the Zun foon der Oybershter and consequently will have shame and fear and punishment at the Bias HaMoshiach, the Yom HaDin. They are not Tzaddiks as they claim but transgressors who practise averos (3:4). They are not born of Hashem because they do not refrain from sin. Indeed they cannot refrain from sin because the Zera Hashem, the Emes, the Devar Hashem, does not abide in them. So now it's time to bring your focus back to the one and only Savior, the Moshiach Ben Dovid, the Goel Redeemer of your nefesh. He is the center of your heart and life. There is no other Savior. He's the Savior of the World. How blind we are to miss him! No one else is as important. Who is more important than the Savior of the world? Who is a bigger liar than the man who says that Yeshua is not the Moshiach?

Do you realize that your soul's salvation hangs on the inerrancy of the Bible? Do you know about the Etz Chayim? Or Moshiach Ben Dovid? Or the true G-d who is One in His underlying being and threefold in the distinctions of his kedushah? Is the Bar Enosh unknown to you?
