Okay, today I want to talk to you about the old man, the old self, the old unregenerated person, that must be born again. Now, you might say, “We don’t really accept the doctrine of CHET KADMON as it is presented by the Messianics.” But the fact is, it’s the Word of G-d, it’s the Bible that we have to deal with, and I’m talking here particularly about the Tanakh. In Psalm 51, either verse 5 or 7, depending on whether you are looking at the English or the Hebrew, it says ‘SURELY I WAS BROUGHT FORTH IN AVON,(in iniquity)’ In other words, ‘I WAS A SINNER FROM CONCEPTION.’ AND HASHEM HAS LAID ON HIM THE AVON OF US ALL (Isaiah 53:6) So the L-rd put the punishment for us on Moshiach. And that means, the punishment for our iniquity. The word AVON means iniquity. AND WE HAVE TO KEEP OURSELVES FROM OUR INIQUITY. PSALM 18, EITHER VERSE 23 OR 24. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT: ISAIAH 53:6, PSALM 18 AND THEN PSALM 51, YOU HAVE THIS IDEA OF AVON OR INIQUITY. NOW WHEN I WAS A VERY SMALL CHILD. (THIS WAS ALMOST 60 YEARS AGO OR SO), MY MOTHER TOOK ME TO MEET MY GRANDFATHER. And we were in Lawrenceville, Illinois. And there was a little shanty shack, and my mother took me inside. And here he was, he was drunk. My grandmother was nowhere around. He had thrown her out. And here was this mentally retarded woman, and he was teaching these little children—they were about three or four years old—to smoke cigarettes, and he was drunk and he was laughing, he though it was very funny. And there was a terrible stench in the air, there was garbage on the floor, and it was a shack, it was the most horrible thing, I mean any slum in any in any major city that you want to talk about would not compare with this. And my mother had been raised in this shack as an abused child…almost starved to death. And this man was an alcoholic. Now this is my grandfather, my flesh and blood in a shanty shack in Lawrenceville, Illinois. So here I am, I’m a little boy. I go outside. I ask my mother if I can go outside, and when I go outside I’m standing by this field next to this fence. And I’m waiting for her to come out so that she can take me away from this. Because I’m very upset. I’ve never SEEN anything like this before. And I’m standing next to a very old TREE. And it’s very dusty. I think it’s the dirtiest tree I ever saw. And the Lord takes a little digital snapshot in my mind…of this little moment. He wants me to remember this moment for the rest of my life. Because this dirty tree is a tree NOT OF LIFE but of death. It’s a tree that goes all the way back to Adam. It goes through this grandfather all the way back to Adam. It’s a tree of iniquity. It’s a tree of death. It’s a tree of sin. Now many Jewish people, when they think of SIN, they think, WELL WE’RE TALKING ABOUT AN AVERAH. Averos is transgressions. So here I am, if I’m an Orthodox Jew and I lay tefillin and I go to shul three times a day and I eat the kosher food and I do everything I’m supposed to do, and I DON’T transgress against any of the 613 mitzvahs, then I haven’t transgressed so I don’t think I have a sin. But we’re not talking about the sin that you DO; we’re talking about the sin that you are. We’re talking about the Biblically defined CHET KADMON of the Scriptures. We’re talking about the “ADAM IN YOU.” And that’s what the Lord was showing me. Here I was, a little child, and the Lord was trying to show me that THIS MAN was in ME, just like ADAM was in me. Am I talking about DNA, am I talking about physiology? Am I talking about genetic diseases? Alcoholism? Yes, ALL OF THE ABOVE. Because there’s a Biblical explanation offered to account for the sinful propensity shared by all people from the beginning. It’s called Chet Kadmon. It’s called Original Sin. And it’s saying this: the reason we have to be born again (and I’m talking about a new creation, I’m talking about a bria chadasha, a new life, a new birth, I’m talking about being born from heaven.)
Because Adam infected KOH HA-ADAM, all humanity. He was the FIRST transgressor, yet all of his sons are ALSO transgressors, even though transgression is not forced upon them in the analogy of a genetic disease. And we cannot exonerate ourselves, because in Jeremiah 17:9 it says that we have a DECEITFUL HEART. And it’s not something that we can blame ADAM for… it is the ADAM IN ME …the ADAMAH, the dirt, that I came from, I will return to…ADAMAH But there is also, beyond ADAMAH, there is GEHINNOM And the Biblical explanation is called CHET KADMON. And in Hitler we know that there was nothing good. In my flesh there is no good thing. Romans 7:18 We might say, “Well, wait a minute. Hitler wasn’t ALL BAD. He loved his dog. No Hitler did not love his dog. Because he used his dog as a guinea pid to experiment to make sure that the cyanide tablets he was going to use on his girl friend would actually work. And so he didn’t care about her and he didn’t care about the dog and he didn’t care about anything, even the German people, because IN HITLER THERE WAS NO GOOD THING. And there’s a little bit of Hitler in everybody. There’s something called original sin. And in my flesh there is no good thing. And when we talk about flesh here, we’re talking about the DEPRAVITY. We’re talking about what was DERIVED from ADAM, what was derived from the very beginning …when the FALL occurred, and human nature was warped. And that warping that is in human nature is going to affect everybody. So the Lord had me out there next to that dirty tree thinking about the dirty stuff that was going on inside that dirty shack, and the Lord was showing me that there was something evil in me that was going to come forth. As surely as you plant a seed—let’s say you plant a CARROT seed in the garden, well the CARROTS are going to come up. And if you have a HUMAN father, sooner or later your iniquity is going to be disclosed…it’s going to be revealed. This is why Moshiach had to come and be born of HA-ALMAH, the unmarried virgin. You should look at the foreword of the ORTHODOX JEWISH BIBLE so see how this word always means unmarried young virgin in the TANAKH. It’s so important, because Yeshua did not say that WE must be born again. Moshiach said that YOU must be born again. And you have to ask yourself, This AVON, this iniquity in Psalm 18, in Psalm 51, in Isaiah 53…this iniquity this is why Nicodemus had to be born again, because he had to get a new nature. Now once you get a new nature, you are ABLE to do what DAVID says, I HAVE KEPT MYSELF FROM MY INIQUITY, Psalm 18. He kept himself from his iniquity. And we are able to DO that, if we are born again. Because there’s something in the Bible called mortification, sanctification, kedushah, that in the power of the Ruach Hakodesh, Romans 8:13, we can put to death, we can die daily, I Corinthians 15:31, we can put to death the evil inclination and the fleshy sins and thought patterns, because the Holy Spirit can pray through us with prayers that transcend human speech and we can—through the gifts of the Spirit and through the fruit of the Spirit, which G-d gives us as we grow in faith in what is called kedushah or sanctification…we are able to walk in the newness of life and renew our mind and that’s what the L-rd wants…He wants a renewed mind, so we’re talking about ORIGINAL SIN And this is not something that is just a little yetzer harah problem. This is a depravity that affects the whole person, that Keeps the person from being able to understand Scripture, or to be able to appreciate truly who Yeshua is, or to be able to hear his voice. It’s something dark and warped that we have in common with HASATAN, the lying spirit, the suppression of the truth, the running from the L-rd. You remember Jonah. The very same Hebrew phrase is used with Jonah that was used with the first woman. MAH ZOT? WHAT IS THIS (THAT YOU HAVE DONE)? EXACTLY THE SAME WORDS…AND OF COURSE, WE ALWAYS FALL. We may have a garden of innocence in childhood for a while in our childhood (IT SAYS, ONCE I WAS ALIVE) but we always experience this fall (IT SAYS BUT THEN THE COMMANDMENT CAME). AND IN THIS FALL SIN COMES AS A POWER, AND THE POWER HAS TO BE BROKEN. AND IN THE TANYA IT SPEAKS ABOUT THE GENTILES BEING NO GOOD, AND somebody might say, WELL, YOU KNOW THIS LITTLE BOY STANDING BY THE DIRTY TREE WITH THE DRUNK GRANDFATHER IN THE SHACK WELL THIS JUST CONFIRMS WITH THE TANYA SAYS, BUT if you look at the Bible you will see that just as Dovid, Kind David fell with Bathsheba, so Solomon fell with his foreign wives, and LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON. And so the POWER that was snaking toward me from that Shanty Shack was this –not just this YETZER HARAH but CHET KADMON because like ALL people, the boy I’m talking about by this dirty tree had been born into sin (Psalm 51) because of Grandfather Adam and the little boy would become his OWN ADAM and have his OWN FALL, but through the Moshiach’s death—you see, Moshiach is Moshiach Tzidkeinu, Moshiach is our Righteousness, and through MOSHIACH’S death we enter into CHESED, and this CHESED is much greater than any TRANSGRESSION, because through the GRACE of G-d we are able to conquer and to overcome (the L-rd helps us) and we have not only KEDUSHAH, but before that we have HITKHADSHUT, which is regeneration, and we have the power of G-d, and just as the FIRST man and his sin released the POWER of SIN into the world (and this power is something that only Yeshua could resist completely, he’s really the only true TZADDIK) and each of us is responsible, we can’t blame anyone, because it says, that DEATH CAME TO ALL MEN BECAUSE ALL SINNED…ALL SINNED, we can’t blame anyone. There’s NONE righteous, no not one. And when you understand these scriptures in the Hebrew Bible, in the Tanakh (I’m talking about avon, iniquity in Psalm 18, Psalm 51, and Isaiah 53) you will see that that little child standing there by that dirty tree has a deviant aspect to his character, just like his grandfather, and the Jewish person who does the mitzvahs and thinks that there’s no averah and he’s reading the Tanya and he’s saying, “O well, a sheigetz is a degenerate, so what are you going to do? This is not a Jewish problem.” Well anyone that says this, they have to realize that condemnation and judgment are set over against justification, and just as we are condemned in this fallen humanity, we are justified in this new humanity, because MY RIGHTEOUS SERVANT WILL JUSTIFY MANY, Isaiah 53:11. And that Scripture means that Moshiach Tzidkeinu (Jeremiah 23:5-6) that Moshiach, that Righteous Moshiach, he can become MY righteousness. And he can affect me and make me just, make me righteous in the sight of G-d. He can give me that acquired righteousness, that credited-to-me-by-G-d-by-the-grace-of-G-d right standing. And just as I was fallen in the first man, I can find new life and forgiveness of sins and even a new status in court, and that means acquittal at the Judgement Seat before Moshiach Ben Dovid My Righteousness. And I really wish that you would go to our website and download the OJB.pdf file which is a free digital copy of the ORTHODOX JEWISH BIBLE, and you can use the search function and you can look at this word MITZVAH and you can look at it all the way through the Scriptures, and when you do you will see what it says on page 1011…it says SO THEN AS THROUGH ONE AVERAH (THAT’S TRANSGRESSION, THAT’S REFERRING TO THE FIRST MAN) TO ALL BNAI ADAM (TO ALL MEN) CONDEMNATION AS GUILTY, SO ALSO THROUGH ONE MITZVAH, ONE RIGHTEOUS OR WORTHY DEED, ONE MITZVAH, THAT’S MOSHIACH’S MITZVAH THAT HE DID BY OBEYING CHAPTER 53 OF ISAIAH, IT SAYS “HE WAS WOUNDED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS” AND “HE JUSTIFIED US” HE JUSTIFIED THE MANY, MY RIGHTEOUS SERVANT WILL JUSTIFY MANY, BECAUSE OF THAT WORTHY DEED THAT HE DID, SO TO ALL THE BNAI ADAM, ALL THE SONS OF MEN, JUSTIFICATION UNTO CHAYEI OLAM…THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU COULD EVER CONCEIVE OF…HALLELUYAH…WE WANT TO GIVE G-D THE GLORY FOR THIS TODAY…We want to thank Him, that even though we have a sort of derived corrupt nature, derived from the first Man, and our humanity is fallen.
I had a brother, and my brother and I received certain things from that grandfather. My brother died of alcoholism in August of 2008. And the predisposition toward alcoholism I also have. I guess this is why I drink coffee all the time. Sometimes I walk by a liquor store and I almost think about having a glass of wine, but I say NO. YIELDING to temptation is sin but being tempted is not sin. And the L-rd gives me the help, he gives me the strength to rise above the snake-like POWER that is coming from that shack, that is snaking down that dirty family tree from grandfather ADAM, that dirty family tree that I was standing next to almost 60 years ago. The L-rd gives me the strength to step on that alcoholism snake because I am born again. I’ve been born again since 1971. But if you hate Yeshua, you have a demonic CHET KADMON hatred of Elokim Avinu. And if the Father sends His Word to you and you can’t recognize His Word and you have no DESIRE for His Word and the love of G-d is not IN YOU, it’s because you need to be born again. If you face him and he is utterly ALIEN to you…if you don’t know him, if you don’t recognize him, if you cannot hear what he has to say to you because you don’t have ears to hear, this is more proof that you need to be born again. And we’re talking about the devil here. The devil has blinded your eyes. And if you are lying (who is a bigger liar than the man who says that Yeshua is not the Moshiach?) this is a fundamental hostility that Satan (you know, he was a liar from the beginning) and by doing evil we show ourselves to be children of the devil. And if we have evil thoughts in our hearts, devilish thoughts, we must ask the L-rd to give us new thoughts, we must meditate on His Word (His thoughts are higher than our thoughts), we must pray in the Spirit, we must seek fellowship, we must listen to strong preaching, because if I freely choose to do evil, then I show whose son I am. But if I choose to do the will of G-d—not everyone who says that he’s Jewish is Jewish, the one whose praise is of G-d, the one whose heart is circumcised, that’s the true Jew. Jewish mother, yes, but more than that, the Jewish heart as well. And this is what Jeremiah chapter 4, verse 4, Jeremiah 9:25, Ezekiel 36:26-27, Matthew 3:9 and following, Romans 2:28-29, there’s a scripture in Philippians—there are so many scriptures. You hear from YOUR father, if you are not regenerated and you will do his bidding. A corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit. And I was standing by a corrupt tree. And the Lord was showing me that a corrupt tree brings forth corrupt fruit. And I was corrupt fruit from a corrupt grandfather from a corrupt Adam, and the Lord wanted to make me a new creature, a bria chadasha. When I was 12 years old I had an experience with the Lord but I still had idols in my heart. It took another 15 years before I finally yielded to the Lord. And when the devil comes back and tries to reclaim you, you must resist him. You must stand against him. And you must use the whole means of grace to keep yourself in the love of G-d. So today we’ve been speaking about CHET KADMON and about the fact that there is a grisly enemy within you, the ADAM in YOU, the ADAM in ME, not the sin that you DO; the sin that you are, and in the true story that I told you, the Lord was showing me that there was something evil in me that was going to come forth. And if you open the door for the devil and give that innate depravity a little room to emerge, you will find that “when I do the evil I do not want to do it is not I who is doing it but rather it is the SIN that dwells in me, the ORIGINAL SIN that dwells in me.” Romans 7:20. I am talking about a corrupt nature derived from the first man, who was created good and free, but, through no fault of G-d’s, used his freedom to corrupt himself and his children were born into that very same corruption (Psalm 51, verse 5 or 7). This is a doctrine that is found in the book of Job and in Kohelet 7:29 and other places and it’s a doctrine that is in the Hebrew Bible. And if you refuse to accept this doctrine it shows that you need to be regenerated. You need to be born again. Father, I want to pray right now that everyone listening to this message will understand that no matter how you came into this world, no matter who our parents or grandparents were—(the Bible says, “To be highborn is a lie” (Psalm 62:9)—we all have the same genetic predisposition in the sense of sin, and we became sons of Adam not when we came down from the trees and grew bigger brains but when we fell in grandfather adam and iniquity was found in us and we became sinners in need of redemption by our Goel redeemer Moshiach the Zera HaIsha who destroys the works of the devil and is the Devar Hashem who is the Jeremiah chapter 31 BRIT CHADASHAH TORAH written on the heart. Father, help us understand Original Sin not as the sin that we do but the sin that we are, that corruption of mind and spirit that keeps us from hearing the Word and obeying. Because we are not on the L-rd’s wavelength. Our sin has separated us from Him and He is far from us. Help us to see that until we receive a lev chadash and a ruach chadasha and new eyes to see and new ears to hear and a new nature, this alienation will continue until it too late and we are in the outer darkness for all eternity. Even if we think that we are not guilty of any averah or any transgression there is still that FIRST transgression of the first man and through that came the power of original sin and death and only through Yeshua HaMoshiach can this be broken. Isaiah 53:6 ALL WE HAVE GONE ASTRAY, WE HAVE ALL GONE OUR OWN WAY…WE ARE ALL LITTLE ADAMS , LITTLE CHIPS OFF THE OLD BLOCK, GOING OUR OWN WAY, AND THAT MEANS WE ARE ALL UNDER THE POWER OF SIN, WE ARE ALL UNDER THE POWER OF CHET KADMON’S ALIENATION, AND THE L-RD HAS PUNISHED MOSHIACH FOR THE INIQUITY, THE AVON, THE INIQUITY THAT WE WERE BORN INTO (PSALM 51), THE INIQUITY OF US ALL. THEREFORE WE CAN BE DELIVERED FROM THAT INIQUITY. WE CAN EVEN BE DELIVERED FROM THE ADAM IN ME, THE ADAM IN YOU, THE FLESH IN WHICH IS NO GOOD THING.
In Hitler there was no good thing, and in my flesh there is no
good thing (Ro 7:18). (Blindly true to form, not agreeing with the Tanakh [Kohelet 7:29:
7:20; Yeshayah 53:6] on the Biblical Chet Kadmon’s yetzer harah of the fallen human condition) you say, "Wait a minute. The 'flesh' isn't that bad, and even
Hitler loved his dog." No, you are wrong. His dog became nothing more to him than a
laboratory animal for testing suicide pills, and your flesh is the "bite down" point for the
Evil Lion, who wants to devour you, to capture you in order that you would do his will and bring
reproach on the Holy One and His Holy Ministry. But just as one
man infected the whole race by his unrighteous act, so another man,
Moshiach, introduced chayei
olam into humanity's children by his gracious [Isaiah 53:11]
mitzvah ("worthy or righteous
deed"). See Isaiah
53:11. You say, how do you get all that from Isaiah chapter 53? Look
at Isaiah 53:10 again. Here it speaks of his days being prolonged when the
previous verses have clearly spoken of his death. When we read Isaiah chapter 53 closely
we find out that the kever (tomb) of the Moshiach (Messiah) is mentioned, but it’s there only
because our redemption requires it, and after he (Moshiach) makes the atonement with his asham korban kaparah sacrifice, his offering, of his
nefesh, it says Hashem
is satisfied and then after that he’s NO LONGER in his tomb because the
Moshiach has his days PROLONGED and THATrequires an empty tomb. Then in Isaiah 53:10 it speaks of
Moshiach seeing his "seed," that is, those born of G-d through faith in
him. This is why you MUST be born again. You must be born from one race of human
beings to another race, from Adam's race to Moshiach's race, Moshiach's
seed. So we thank G-d that in the Age of Moshiach, chayei olam comes to us
even now, even in this time
of Grace. Those who think no new birth is necessary do not understand
generational iniquity and that we
were born in iniquity (Ps 51:5) and that we need a new birth (see Yn 3:6 and Ro 7:18), for if we regard iniquity in our hearts, the L-rd will not
hear our prayers (Ps 66:18). But if by the Spirit of G-d we put to death the deeds of the flesh we will live. (Ro 8:13).
We thank G-d that we are not under Torah but under grace. Moshiach was
born under Torah (Gal 4:4). However he was not a nefesh nefel (fallen soul). Therefore,
he needed not the new birth and he obeyed
perfectly the Torah and did the things of the Torah and lived, as it says in Lev 18:5, "He who
does these things shall live by them." The curse of the Torah is found
in Deut 27:26 and every nefesh nefel (fallen soul) is under its curse. Now we are under grace because
Moshiach became a curse for our sakes, as it stands written, Cursed is anyone who hangs on a
Tree (Deut 21:23). This is the Good News of Redemption.
This is why we come to Moshiach's Shul
and the bria
chadasha.He has the
words of chayei olam.We
enter to worship and praise and
pray and be taught to inquire
of the L-rd and to be sent out by His glory.
Do you see that Kohelet says, HAELOHIM
HATH MADE MAN YASHAR (UPRIGHT, GN 1:27) BUT THEY HAVE SOUGHT OUT
CHISHVONOT RABBIM (MANY SCHEMES, GN 3:6-7; PS 51; RO 5:12; 3:23) and
therefore you must have a new
birth? Here is a prayer
to daven with us this Friday night.
"May my death make kaparah for all my sins." rather than
"T’hei mot
haMoshiach kaparah al kol avonotai"
"May the death of Moshiach make kaparah for all my sins."
If the following six words
from the Talmud
תְּהֵא מִיתָתִי כַּפָּרָה עַל כָּל עֲוֹנוֹתָי.
[סנהדרין
פרק ו,ב]
Let's repeat this so that
there can be no confusion or question.
There are two confessions here.
Each contains six little words. One Jewish confession is the holy
inspired Word of G-d
and one confession is not
the inspired Word of G-d.
Confession of the Talmud
instead of the Tanakh will cost
one his immortal
soul. Here are the words
from the Talmud:
"May my death make kaparah for all my sins." Here are
the Words from the inerrant Tanakh:
"Kee neegzar may-eretz chayyim
mee-pay-sha amee." So
from these inerrant words
we confess "T’hei mot haMoshiach kaparah al kol
avonotai," which translates into English:
"May the death of Moshiach make kaparah for all my sins."
Now if
תְּהֵא מִיתָתִי כַּפָּרָה עַל כָּל עֲוֹנוֹתָי.
[סנהדרין
פרק ו,ב]
is erroneously preferred to these following six Hebrew
words from the Tanakh,
then that fatal choice
will result in the eternal lose of the nefesh:
By the time we get to 2 Corinthians chp 11 we
see that Satan wants to corrupt and ruin by means
of Bible-opposing
"knowledge," the so-called "deeper things of Satan."
Instead of staying
with the Word that was preached, the temptation of the
Corinthians was to
"go beyond what was written" and
to be seduced by extra-Biblical knowledge
(see Gen 3:5). Notice
that Eve's "Bible" only has
seven words in it.
The seven words in her "Bible"
warn that death will be the result
of her moral autonomy,
of her getting her "knowledge" of good and
evil, in other words, from a certain
lethal tree rather than
from the "Bible" her husband has been
given wherein the meager
content of seven words ("oo-meh-ETZ ha-DAH-aht tov va-rah
loh toh-KHOHL mee-mehn-NOO" ...of the Tree of the Knowledge
of Good and Evil you shall not eat from it) will nevertheless tell her
how to live and not die.
But in the hands of the evil Serpent this "Bible"
can be twisted and used to deceive
her so that she hands herself over to a
rival authority, a
Bible-opposing authority, with fatal results.
Anything that rivals and
opposes G-d is an idol, and in the Book of Revelation we see that the
believers will give up
their lives as martyrs rather than compromise with the idolatrous
religion and way of
life of the pagan society of the last days. It is fair to say that one
cannot be a believer unless one
repents from all idolatry.
Whoever tries to
keep his idolatrous life will lose it.
