You may want Kabbalah or
some other occult book that deceived people are trumpeting but I have
decided to know nothing among you but Moshiach and his Etz Chayim.
"May my death make kaparah for all my sins." rather than
"T’hei mot
haMoshiach kaparah al kol avonotai"
"May the death of Moshiach make kaparah for all my sins."
If the following six words
from the Talmud
תְּהֵא מִיתָתִי כַּפָּרָה עַל כָּל עֲוֹנוֹתָי.
[סנהדרין
פרק ו,ב]
Let's repeat this so that
there can be no confusion or question.
There are two confessions here.
Each contains six little words. One Jewish confession is the holy
inspired Word of G-d
and one confession is not
the inspired Word of G-d.
Confession of the Talmud
instead of the Tanakh will cost
one his immortal
soul. Here are the words
from the Talmud:
"May my death make kaparah for all my sins." Here are
the Words from the inerrant Tanakh:
"Kee neegzar may-eretz chayyim
mee-pay-sha amee." So
from these inerrant words
we confess "T’hei mot haMoshiach kaparah al kol
avonotai," which translates into English:
"May the death of Moshiach make kaparah for all my sins."
Now if
תְּהֵא מִיתָתִי כַּפָּרָה עַל כָּל עֲוֹנוֹתָי.
[סנהדרין
פרק ו,ב]
is erroneously preferred to these following six Hebrew
words from the Tanakh,
then that fatal choice
will result in the eternal lose of the nefesh:
By the time we get to 2 Corinthians chp 11 we
see that Satan wants to corrupt and ruin by means
of Bible-opposing
"knowledge," the so-called "deeper things of Satan."
Instead of staying
with the Word that was preached, the temptation of the
Corinthians was to
"go beyond what was written" and
to be seduced by extra-Biblical knowledge
(see Gen 3:5). Notice
that Eve's "Bible" only has
seven words in it.
The seven words in her "Bible"
warn that death will be the result
of her moral autonomy,
of her getting her "knowledge" of good and
evil, in other words, from a certain
lethal tree rather than
from the "Bible" her husband has been
given wherein the meager
content of seven words ("oo-meh-ETZ ha-DAH-aht tov va-rah
loh toh-KHOHL mee-mehn-NOO" ...of the Tree of the Knowledge
of Good and Evil you shall not eat from it) will nevertheless tell her
how to live and not die.
But in the hands of the evil Serpent this "Bible"
can be twisted and used to deceive
her so that she hands herself over to a
rival authority, a
Bible-opposing authority, with fatal results.
Anything that rivals and
opposes G-d is an idol, and in the Book of Revelation we see that the
believers will give up
their lives as martyrs rather than compromise with the idolatrous
religion and way of
life of the pagan society of the last days. It is fair to say that one
cannot be a believer unless one
repents from all idolatry.
Whoever tries to
keep his idolatrous life will lose it.
Having said all that, let's get to the point. Imagine you are with Rav Shaul
in 34/35 C.E. He has just had his Damascus Road experience and he has gone
into Arabia and back to Damascus. Then, three years later around 37/38 C.E.
Rav Shaul goes to Jerusalem and stays with Peter for fifteen days and has a meeting
with Ya'akov Ben Dovid who is one of the leaders of the Kehillah of the Sect of Judaism
called HaDerech. This man Ya'akov is also a Shliach and a half-brother of Moshiach.
Now Rav Shaul continues preaching in the shuls of the Diaspora and continues to
submit his ministry to the brethren in Jerusalem. Now it is around 48/49 C.E. (fourteen
years from the time Rav Shaul had his Damascus Road experience) and Rav Shaul is back
in Jerusalem and he has Titus with him. Now at this momentous time Rav Shaul meets
privately with the leaders in Jerusalem and he presents not only Titus but the Besuras
HaGeulah that he preached and is preaching to all the Titus's of the Diaspora. Here is
the momentous thing that happens next. The Shluchim of Moshiach give Shaul the
right hand of fellowship and so endorse his work and the saving message he is preaching
as THE gospel. What is the conclusion then? The Shlichus (Mission) requires cultural
specialization (some are Shluchim to the non-Jews, some are Shluchim to the Jews)
but the saving message is the same for Jews and non-Jews. The message that was
approved in that private meeting between Rav Shaul and the leaders of the sect of Judaism
called HaDerech in Jerusalem is THE gospel. Now can you imagine Paul saying to these
men something like this? "Fellows, I am preaching a health and wealth gospel of 'G-d wants
you rich!' and I was wondering if you would approve that gospel? Surely if we go to the
ends of the earth and tell everyone, Jew and non-Jew alike, that G-d wants them rich,
we will get many converts! What do you say? Do you approve?" If you read the book
of Galatians you will see that it is a frightening thing if they don't approve because it says
in Galatians that if anyone preaches a NON-APPROVED gospel, that person will spend eternity
in hell. See Gal 1:6-9. See more background on this here and here. See the Gospel
that was approved.
Now we have dealt with the content of the Gospel. Now we have to deal with not the "what"
but the "how." Since Jewish people and non-Jews are very different, they required different
specialized kinds of ministries. Here is an illustration. I may not be called to minister to firemen. A Chaplain to the New York City
Fire Department has to go on the firetruck, he has to wear some of the same protective
boots and helmet and firefighter's protective paraphenalia. He had to charge into the burning
9-11 World Trade Towers with his congregants, who happened to be the firefighters charging into
those burning buildings. These firefighters were the constituency he was called to minister to,
so he had to be with them, whatever the peril. But not everyone is called to live in a firehouse or
ride on a firetruck or run with firemen into a burning building or do that specialized ministry. It is specialized.
The Shlichus (Mission) described in Gal 2:6-10 requires cultural specialization (some are Shluchim to the non-Jews, some are Shluchim to the Jews)
but the saving message is the same for Jews and non-Jews. So someone might be called to live in Jerusalem,
keep a glatt kosher Shomer Shabbos home, and dress, eat, live, worship, marry, raise children, and die and be
buried in an ultra-Orthodox Jewish ministry where at every opportunity the saving message, the same
one the New York City firemen are given, shines through their life. Do we make everyone wear a
New York City Firefighter's Chaplain outfit? Do we make everyone wear an ultra-Orthodox Jewish
person's outfit? No, but some are called to specialize in one and put on that uniform and manner of life
and some are called to specialize in the other and put on that uniform and manner of life. Too often believers
forget that Gal 2:6-10 is in their Bibles and they forget that Acts 21:17-26 shows that the Messianic Yidden
in Jerusalem really, really, really put on the Jewish uniform and manner of life, that Ya'akov Ben Dovid and
the other leaders of the sect of Judaism called "HaDerech" lived a Jewish life, dressed in a Jewish way,
worshipped in a Jewish way, lived according to a Jewish calendar as Jews among Jews, just as a New York
City Fire Department Chaplain lives in the fire house and on the fire truck as a firefighter among firefighters.
Now look at the Gospel again.
Don't believe another gospel.
