לַ֭מְנַצֵּחַ SDBH For the choirmaster עַל־ To the tune of אַיֶּ֥לֶת SDBH The Doe הַשַּׁ֗חַר SDBH of the Dawn מִזְמ֥וֹר SDBH A Psalm לְדָוִֽד׃ SDBH of David אֵלִ֣י SDBH My G-d אֵ֭לִי SDBH my G-d לָמָ֣ה SDBH why עֲזַבְתָּ֑נִי SDBH have You forsaken me רָח֥וֹק SDBH Why are You so far מִֽ֝ישׁוּעָתִ֗י SDBH from saving me דִּבְרֵ֥י SDBH [so far] from my words שַׁאֲגָתִֽי׃ SDBH of groaning

אֱ‍ֽלֹהַ֗י SDBH O my G-d אֶקְרָ֣א SDBH I cry out י֭וֹמָם SDBH by day וְלֹ֣א SDBH . . . תַעֲנֶ֑ה SDBH but You do not answer וְ֝לַ֗יְלָה SDBH and by night וְֽלֹא־ SDBH but I have no דֽוּמִיָּ֥ה SDBH rest לִֽי׃
Elohai, I cry yomam, but Thou hearest not; and v'lailah, and am not silent.
But Atah Kadosh, O Thou enthroned on the tehillot Yisroel.

בְּ֭ךָ In You בָּטְח֣וּ SDBH trusted אֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ SDBH our fathers בָּ֝טְח֗וּ SDBH they trusted וַֽתְּפַלְּטֵֽמוֹ׃ SDBH and You delivered them
Avoteinu trusted in Thee; they had bitachon, and Thou didst deliver them.

אֵלֶ֣יךָ to You זָעֲק֣וּ SDBH They cried out וְנִמְלָ֑טוּ SDBH and were set free בְּךָ֖ in You בָטְח֣וּ SDBH they trusted וְלֹא־ SDBH and were not בֽוֹשׁוּ׃ SDBH disappointed
They cried unto Thee, and were delivered; they had bitachon in Thee, and were not disappointed.
But I am a tola'at, and no ish; a reproach of men, and despised of the people [see Yeshayah 53:3 on the despised Moshiach].
All they that see me mock me; they shoot out the lip, they shake the rosh, saying,

גֹּ֣ל SDBH He trusts אֶל־ in יְהוָ֣ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi יְפַלְּטֵ֑הוּ SDBH let the LORD deliver him יַ֝צִּילֵ֗הוּ SDBH let the LORD rescue him כִּ֘י since חָ֥פֵֽץ SDBH He delights בּֽוֹ׃ in him
He trusted in Hashem; let Hashem rescue him; let Him deliver him, since He delights in him.

כִּֽי־ Yet אַתָּ֣ה SDBH You גֹחִ֣י SDBH brought me forth מִבָּ֑טֶן SDBH from the womb מַ֝בְטִיחִ֗י SDBH You made me secure עַל־ at שְׁדֵ֥י SDBH breast אִמִּֽי׃ SDBH my mother’s
But Thou art He that took me out of the womb; Thou didst make me trust when I was upon the breasts of immi.
I was cast upon Thee from the womb; Thou art Eli from the womb of immi.
Be not far from me; for tzoros is near; and there is none to help.
Parim rabbim (many bulls) have encompassed me; strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round about.

They opened wide their mouths upon me, like an aryeh roaring and tearing prey.
I am poured out like mayim, and all my atzmot are out of joint; my lev is like wax; it is melted away within me.
My ko'ach is dried up like baked clay; and my leshon cleaveth to my jaws; and Thou layest me in the aphar mavet (dust of death).
For kelavim have surrounded me; the Adat Mere'im (congregation of evil men) have enclosed me; ka'aru yadai v'ragelai (they pierced my hands and my feet; see Isa 53:5; Zech 12:10 and medieval Hebrew Scripture manuscripts as well as the Targum HaShivim).
I can count all my atzmot; the people stare and gloat at me.

יְחַלְּק֣וּ SDBH They divide בְגָדַ֣י SDBH my garments לָהֶ֑ם among them וְעַל־ for לְ֝בוּשִׁ֗י SDBH my clothing יַפִּ֥ילוּ SDBH and cast גוֹרָֽל׃ SDBH lots
They divide up my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast goral (lots) [Mt 27:35; Lk 23:34; Yn 19:24].
But be not Thou far from me, Hashem; O my strength, hasten Thee to help me.
20
הַצִּ֣ילָה SDBH Deliver מֵחֶ֣רֶב SDBH from the sword נַפְשִׁ֑י SDBH my soul מִיַּד־ SDBH from the power כֶּ֝֗לֶב SDBH of wild dogs יְחִידָתִֽי׃ SDBH my precious life
Deliver my nefesh from the cherev, my yechid (only one, only [nefesh]) from the power of the kelev (dog).

ה֭וֹשִׁיעֵנִי SDBH Save me מִפִּ֣י SDBH from the mouth אַרְיֵ֑ה SDBH of the lion וּמִקַּרְנֵ֖י SDBH at the horns רֵמִ֣ים SDBH of the wild oxen עֲנִיתָֽנִי׃ SDBH You have answered me
Hoshieini from the mouth of the aryeh; for Thou hast heard me from the karnayim of the wild bulls.

I will declare Thy Shem unto my Achim; in the midst of the Kahal will I praise Thee.
Ye that fear Hashem, praise Him; all ye Zera Ya'akov, give Him kavod; and fear Him, all ye Zera Yisroel.
24
For He hath not despised nor disdained the enut ani (affliction of the afflicted); neither hath He hid His face from him; but when he cried unto Him, He heard.
25
מֵ֥אִתְּךָ֗ SDBH for You [resounds] תְֽהִלָּ֫תִ֥י SDBH My praise בְּקָהָ֥ל SDBH assembly רָ֑ב SDBH in the great נְדָרַ֥י SDBH my vows אֲ֝שַׁלֵּ֗ם SDBH I will fulfill נֶ֣גֶד before יְרֵאָֽיו׃ SDBH those who fear You
My tehillah shall be from Thee in the Kahal Rav; I will fulfill my nedar before them that fear Him.
The anavim (meek) shall eat and be satisfied; they that seek Him shall praise Hashem. Let your levav live forever!
All the ends of HaAretz shall remember and turn unto Hashem; and all the mishpechot of the Goyim shall bow down in worship before Thee.
For the Meluchah is Hashem's: and He is the Moshel over the Goyim.
All they that thrive upon HaAretz shall eat and worship; all they that go down to the aphar (dust) shall bow before Him; even he who cannot keep alive his own nefesh.

זֶ֥רַע SDBH Posterity יַֽעַבְדֶ֑נּוּ SDBH will serve Him יְסֻפַּ֖ר SDBH they will declare לַֽאדֹנָ֣י SDBH the Lord לַדּֽוֹר׃ SDBH to a new generation
Zera shall serve Him; it shall be told to the generation [to come] concerning Adonoi.
31
יָ֭בֹאוּ SDBH They will come וְיַגִּ֣ידוּ SDBH and proclaim צִדְקָת֑וֹ SDBH His righteousness לְעַ֥ם SDBH to a people נ֝וֹלָ֗ד SDBH yet unborn כִּ֣י all that עָשָֽׂה׃ SDBH He has done
They shall come, and shall declare His tzedek unto an Am Nolad (a [future] people that shall be born), that He hath done this.
