Yeshayah 13 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

מַשָּׂ֖א SDBH [This is] the burden בָּבֶ֑ל SDBH against Babylon אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH that חָזָ֔ה SDBH received יְשַׁעְיָ֖הוּ SDBH Isaiah בֶּן־ SDBH son אָמֽוֹץ׃ SDBH of Amoz

The massa (burden) of Bavel (Babylon), which Yeshayah Ben Amotz did see.

עַ֤ל on הַר־ SDBH hilltop נִשְׁפֶּה֙ SDBH a barren שְֽׂאוּ־ SDBH Raise נֵ֔ס SDBH a banner הָרִ֥ימוּ SDBH call ק֖וֹל SDBH aloud לָהֶ֑ם to them הָנִ֣יפוּ SDBH Wave יָ֔ד SDBH your hand וְיָבֹ֖אוּ SDBH that they may enter פִּתְחֵ֥י SDBH the gates נְדִיבִֽים׃ SDBH of the nobles

Lift ye up a nes upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the yad, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.

אֲנִ֥י SDBH I צִוֵּ֖יתִי SDBH have commanded לִמְקֻדָּשָׁ֑י SDBH My sanctified ones גַּ֣ם SDBH I have even קָרָ֤אתִי SDBH summoned גִבּוֹרַי֙ SDBH My warriors לְאַפִּ֔י SDBH to execute My wrath עַלִּיזֵ֖י SDBH [and] exult גַּאֲוָתִֽי׃ SDBH in My triumph

I have commanded My Mekuddash, I have also summoned My Gibbor for Mine anger, even them that rejoice in My highness.

ק֥וֹל SDBH Listen הָמ֛וֹן SDBH a tumult בֶּֽהָרִ֖ים SDBH on the mountains דְּמ֣וּת SDBH like that עַם־ SDBH multitude רָ֑ב SDBH of a great ק֠וֹל SDBH Listen שְׁא֞וֹן SDBH an uproar מַמְלְכ֤וֹת SDBH among the kingdoms גּוֹיִם֙ SDBH like nations נֶֽאֱסָפִ֔ים SDBH gathered together יְהוָ֣ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi צְבָא֔וֹת SDBH of Hosts מְפַקֵּ֖ד SDBH is mobilizing צְבָ֥א SDBH an army מִלְחָמָֽה׃ SDBH for war

The noise of a hamon (multitude) in the harim (mountains), like as of an Am Rav; a tumultuous noise of the mamlechot (kingdoms) of Goyim gathered together; Hashem Tzva'os mustereth the Tzava (army) of the milchamah (battle, war).

בָּאִ֛ים SDBH They are coming מֵאֶ֥רֶץ SDBH lands מֶרְחָ֖ק SDBH from faraway מִקְצֵ֣ה SDBH from the ends הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם SDBH of the heavens יְהוָה֙ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וּכְלֵ֣י SDBH and the weapons זַעְמ֔וֹ SDBH of His wrath לְחַבֵּ֖ל SDBH to destroy כָּל־ the whole הָאָֽרֶץ׃ SDBH country

They come from an eretz merchak (a far country), from the end of Shomayim, Hashem, and the weapons of His indignation, to destroy Kol HaAretz.

הֵילִ֕ילוּ SDBH Wail כִּ֥י for קָר֖וֹב SDBH is near י֣וֹם SDBH the Day יְהוָ֑ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi כְּשֹׁ֖ד SDBH as destruction מִשַּׁדַּ֥י SDBH from the Almighty יָבֽוֹא׃ SDBH it will come

Wail ye; for the Yom Hashem is karov (near); it shall come like shod (sudden destruction) from Shaddai.

עַל־ Therefore כֵּ֖ן SDBH . . . כָּל־ all יָדַ֣יִם SDBH hands תִּרְפֶּ֑ינָה SDBH will fall limp וְכָל־ and every לְבַ֥ב SDBH heart אֱנ֖וֹשׁ SDBH man’s יִמָּס׃ SDBH will melt

Therefore shall kol yadayim (all hands) fall weak, and kol levav enosh shall melt;

וְֽנִבְהָ֓לוּ׀ SDBH Terror צִירִ֤ים SDBH pain וַֽחֲבָלִים֙ SDBH and anguish יֹֽאחֵז֔וּן SDBH will seize them כַּיּוֹלֵדָ֖ה SDBH like a woman in labor יְחִיל֑וּן SDBH they will writhe אִ֤ישׁ SDBH one אֶל־ They will look at רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ SDBH another יִתְמָ֔הוּ SDBH with fear פְּנֵ֥י their faces לְהָבִ֖ים SDBH flushed פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ . . .

And they shall be afraid; pangs and chavalim (pains) shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain like a woman that travaileth in childbirth; one shall be aghast at his re'a; their faces shall be like flaming visages.

הִנֵּ֤ה Behold יוֹם־ SDBH the Day יְהוָה֙ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi בָּ֔א SDBH is coming אַכְזָרִ֥י SDBH cruel וְעֶבְרָ֖ה SDBH with fury וַחֲר֣וֹן SDBH and burning anger אָ֑ף SDBH . . . לָשׂ֤וּם SDBH to make הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ SDBH the earth לְשַׁמָּ֔ה SDBH a desolation וְחַטָּאֶ֖יהָ SDBH the sinners יַשְׁמִ֥יד SDBH and to destroy מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ within it

Hinei, the Yom Hashem cometh, cruel both with wrath and charon af (fierce anger), to lay the land desolate; and He shall destroy the chatta'im (sinners) thereof out of it.

כִּֽי־ For כוֹכְבֵ֤י SDBH the stars הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ SDBH of heaven וּכְסִ֣ילֵיהֶ֔ם SDBH and their constellations לֹ֥א SDBH will not יָהֵ֖לּוּ SDBH give אוֹרָ֑ם SDBH their light חָשַׁ֤ךְ SDBH will be darkened הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ SDBH sun בְּצֵאת֔וֹ SDBH The rising וְיָרֵ֖חַ SDBH and the moon לֹֽא־ SDBH will not יַגִּ֥יהַ SDBH give אוֹרֽוֹ׃ SDBH its light

For the kokhavim of Shomayim and the constellations thereof shall not give their ohr (light); the shemesh shall be darkened in its rising and the yarei'ach shall not cause its ohr to shine.

וּפָקַדְתִּ֤י SDBH I will punish עַל־ - תֵּבֵל֙ SDBH the world רָעָ֔ה SDBH [for its] evil וְעַל־ and רְשָׁעִ֖ים SDBH the wicked עֲוֺנָ֑ם SDBH for their iniquity וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי֙ SDBH I will end גְּא֣וֹן SDBH the haughtiness זֵדִ֔ים SDBH of the arrogant וְגַאֲוַ֥ת SDBH the pride עָרִיצִ֖ים SDBH of the ruthless אַשְׁפִּֽיל׃ SDBH and lay low

And I will punish the tevel (world) for ra'ah, and the resha'im for their avon (iniquity); and I will cause the ga'on (arrogance) of the proud to cease, and will lay low the ga'avah (pride) of the tyrant.

אוֹקִ֥יר SDBH scarcer אֱנ֖וֹשׁ SDBH {I will make} man מִפָּ֑ז SDBH than pure gold וְאָדָ֖ם SDBH and mankind מִכֶּ֥תֶם SDBH rarer than the gold אוֹפִֽיר׃ SDBH of Ophir

I will make enosh more rare than rare gold; even adam than the gold of Ophir.

13

עַל־ Therefore כֵּן֙ SDBH . . . שָׁמַ֣יִם SDBH I will make the heavens אַרְגִּ֔יז SDBH tremble וְתִרְעַ֥שׁ SDBH will be shaken הָאָ֖רֶץ SDBH and the earth מִמְּקוֹמָ֑הּ SDBH from its place בְּעֶבְרַת֙ SDBH at the wrath יְהוָ֣ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi צְבָא֔וֹת SDBH of Hosts וּבְי֖וֹם SDBH on the day חֲר֥וֹן SDBH of His burning anger אַפּֽוֹ׃ SDBH . . .

Therefore I will shake Shomayim, and Ha'Aretz (the Earth) shall move out of her makom (place), in the evrat Hashem Tzva'os, and in His Yom Charon Af.

14

וְהָיָה֙ - כִּצְבִ֣י SDBH gazelle מֻדָּ֔ח SDBH Like a hunted וּכְצֹ֖אן SDBH like a sheep וְאֵ֣ין SDBH without מְקַבֵּ֑ץ SDBH a shepherd אִ֤ישׁ SDBH each אֶל־ to עַמּוֹ֙ SDBH his own people יִפְנ֔וּ SDBH will return וְאִ֥ישׁ SDBH each אֶל־ to אַרְצ֖וֹ SDBH his native land יָנֽוּסוּ׃ SDBH will flee

And it shall be like deer chased, and like tzon not gathered; each ish turning to his people, and each fleeing to his own land.

15

כָּל־ Whoever הַנִּמְצָ֖א SDBH is caught יִדָּקֵ֑ר SDBH will be stabbed וְכָל־ and whoever הַנִּסְפֶּ֖ה SDBH is captured יִפּ֥וֹל SDBH will die בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ SDBH by the sword

Every one that is found yidaker (shall be pierced through, SEE ZECH 12:10 FOR THIS SAME WORD AND MOSHIACH); and every one that is caught shall fall by the cherev.

16

וְעֹלְלֵיהֶ֥ם SDBH Their infants יְרֻטְּשׁ֖וּ SDBH will be dashed to pieces לְעֵֽינֵיהֶ֑ם SDBH before their eyes יִשַּׁ֙סּוּ֙ SDBH will be looted בָּֽתֵּיהֶ֔ם SDBH their houses וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם SDBH and their wives תִּשָּׁגַלְנָה׃ SDBH will be ravished

Their olelim (infants) also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their batim (houses) shall be looted, and their nashim ravished.

17

הִנְנִ֛י Behold מֵעִ֥יר SDBH I will stir up עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם against them אֶת־ SDBH - מָדָ֑י SDBH the Medes אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH who כֶּ֙סֶף֙ SDBH for silver לֹ֣א SDBH have no יַחְשֹׁ֔בוּ SDBH regard וְזָהָ֖ב SDBH for gold לֹ֥א SDBH and no יַחְפְּצוּ־ SDBH desire בֽוֹ׃

Hineni, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard kesef; and as for zahav, they shall not delight in it.

18

וּקְשָׁת֖וֹת SDBH Their bows נְעָרִ֣ים SDBH {will dash} young men תְּרַטַּ֑שְׁנָה SDBH to pieces וּפְרִי־ SDBH on the fruit בֶ֙טֶן֙ SDBH of the womb לֹ֣א SDBH they will have no יְרַחֵ֔מוּ SDBH mercy עַל־ on בָּנִ֖ים SDBH the children לֹֽא־ SDBH they will not תָח֥וּס SDBH look with pity עֵינָֽם׃ SDBH . . .

Their keshatot (bows) also shall tear ne'arim (young men) to pieces; and they shall have no rachamim on the pri beten (fruit of the womb); their eyes shall not pity banim.

19

וְהָיְתָ֤ה will be בָבֶל֙ SDBH And Babylon צְבִ֣י SDBH the jewel מַמְלָכ֔וֹת SDBH of the kingdoms תִּפְאֶ֖רֶת SDBH the glory גְּא֣וֹן SDBH of the pride כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים SDBH of the Chaldeans כְּמַהְפֵּכַ֣ת SDBH overthrown אֱלֹהִ֔ים SDBH by G-d אֶת־ SDBH - סְדֹ֖ם SDBH like Sodom וְאֶת־ SDBH - עֲמֹרָֽה׃ SDBH and Gomorrah

And Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms, the tiferet ga'on Kasdim, shall be as when Elohim overthrew S'dom and Amora (Gomorrah).

20

לֹֽא־ SDBH She will never תֵשֵׁ֣ב SDBH be inhabited לָנֶ֔צַח SDBH . . . וְלֹ֥א SDBH or תִשְׁכֹּ֖ן SDBH settled עַד־ SDBH from דּ֣וֹר SDBH generation וָד֑וֹר SDBH to generation וְלֹֽא־ SDBH no יַהֵ֥ל SDBH will pitch his tent שָׁם֙ SDBH there עֲרָבִ֔י SDBH nomad וְרֹעִ֖ים SDBH shepherd לֹא־ SDBH no יַרְבִּ֥צוּ SDBH will rest his flock שָֽׁם׃ SDBH there

Lo lanetzach (not ever) shall it be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in ad dor vador; neither shall the Arab pitch ohel there; neither shall the ro'im rest their flock there.

21

וְרָבְצוּ־ SDBH will lie down שָׁ֣ם SDBH there צִיִּ֔ים SDBH But desert creatures וּמָלְא֥וּ SDBH will fill בָתֵּיהֶ֖ם SDBH her houses אֹחִ֑ים SDBH and howling creatures וְשָׁ֤כְנוּ SDBH will dwell שָׁם֙ SDBH there בְּנ֣וֹת SDBH vvv יַֽעֲנָ֔ה SDBH Ostriches וּשְׂעִירִ֖ים SDBH and wild goats יְרַקְּדוּ־ SDBH will leap about שָֽׁם׃ SDBH . . .

But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their batim (houses) shall be full of owls; and ostriches shall dwell there, and demons shall dance there.

22

וְעָנָ֤ה SDBH will howl אִיִּים֙ SDBH Hyenas בְּאַלְמנוֹתָ֔יו SDBH in her fortresses וְתַנִּ֖ים SDBH and jackals בְּהֵ֣יכְלֵי SDBH palaces עֹ֑נֶג SDBH in her luxurious וְקָר֤וֹב SDBH is at hand לָבוֹא֙ SDBH . . . עִתָּ֔הּ SDBH [Babylon’s] time וְיָמֶ֖יהָ SDBH and her days לֹ֥א SDBH will not יִמָּשֵֽׁכוּ׃ SDBH be prolonged

And the wild beasts shall howl in their strongholds, and jackals in their heichalot (palaces) of oneg (delight); and her (Babylon's) time is karov (near, at hand) to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
