Daniel 12 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

וּבָעֵ֣ת SDBH time הַהִיא֩ SDBH At that יַעֲמֹ֨ד SDBH who stands watch מִֽיכָאֵ֜ל SDBH Michael הַשַּׂ֣ר SDBH prince הַגָּד֗וֹל SDBH the great הָעֹמֵד֮ SDBH will rise up עַל־ over בְּנֵ֣י SDBH your people עַמֶּךָ֒ SDBH . . . וְהָיְתָה֙ There will be עֵ֣ת SDBH a time צָרָ֔ה SDBH of distress אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH the likes of which לֹֽא־ SDBH will not have נִהְיְתָה֙ occurred מִֽהְי֣וֹת from the beginning גּ֔וֹי SDBH of nations עַ֖ד SDBH until הָעֵ֣ת SDBH time הַהִ֑יא SDBH that וּבָעֵ֤ת SDBH time הַהִיא֙ SDBH But at that יִמָּלֵ֣ט SDBH will be delivered עַמְּךָ֔ SDBH your people כָּל־ everyone [whose name] הַנִּמְצָ֖א SDBH is found כָּת֥וּב SDBH written בַּסֵּֽפֶר׃ SDBH in the book

And at that time shall Micha'el stand, the Sar HaGadol who standeth over the banim of thy people, and there shall be an et tzarah (time of tribulation), such as has not been from the existence of a nation to that time; and in that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the Sefer.

וְרַבִּ֕ים SDBH And many מִיְּשֵׁנֵ֥י SDBH who sleep אַדְמַת־ SDBH of the earth עָפָ֖ר SDBH in the dust יָקִ֑יצוּ SDBH will awake אֵ֚לֶּה SDBH some לְחַיֵּ֣י SDBH life עוֹלָ֔ם SDBH to everlasting וְאֵ֥לֶּה SDBH but others לַחֲרָפ֖וֹת SDBH to shame לְדִרְא֥וֹן SDBH contempt עוֹלָֽם׃ס SDBH [and] everlasting

And rabbim of them that sleep in the admat aphar (dust of the ground) shall awake, some to Chayyei Olam (Everlasting Life), and some to reproaches (shames) and Dera'on Olam (Everlasting Contempt, Abhorrence, Aversion, i.e., Everlasting Gehinnom.[T.N. ONESH OLAM IS HERE MADE MORE FEARSOME IN LIGHT OF THE PREVALENT NEGLECT OF SCRIPTURE IN FAVOR OF NON- BIBLICAL STUDIES; SEE ISAIAH 66:24 ON DERA'ON]).

וְהַ֨מַּשְׂכִּלִ֔ים SDBH Then the wise יַזְהִ֖רוּ SDBH will shine כְּזֹ֣הַר SDBH like the brightness הָרָקִ֑יעַ SDBH of the heavens וּמַצְדִּיקֵי֙ SDBH to righteousness הָֽרַבִּ֔ים SDBH and those who lead many כַּכּוֹכָבִ֖ים SDBH [will shine] like the stars לְעוֹלָ֥ם SDBH forever וָעֶֽד׃פ SDBH and ever

And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to tzedakah (righteousness) as the kokhavim (stars) leolam v'ed (forever and ever).

וְאַתָּ֣ה SDBH But you דָֽנִיֵּ֗אל SDBH Daniel סְתֹ֧ם SDBH shut up הַדְּבָרִ֛ים SDBH these words וַחֲתֹ֥ם SDBH and seal הַסֵּ֖פֶר SDBH the book עַד־ SDBH until עֵ֣ת SDBH the time קֵ֑ץ SDBH of the end יְשֹׁטְט֥וּ SDBH will roam to and fro רַבִּ֖ים SDBH Many וְתִרְבֶּ֥ה will increase הַדָּֽעַת׃ SDBH and knowledge

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the devarim (words), and seal the sefer, until the Et Ketz (Time of the End): rabbim shall run to and fro, that da'as (knowledge) may be increased.

וְרָאִ֙יתִי֙ SDBH looked אֲנִ֣י SDBH Then I דָנִיֵּ֔אל SDBH Daniel וְהִנֵּ֛ה and saw שְׁנַ֥יִם SDBH two אֲחֵרִ֖ים SDBH others עֹמְדִ֑ים SDBH standing אֶחָ֥ד SDBH one הֵ֙נָּה֙ SDBH there לִשְׂפַ֣ת SDBH on this bank הַיְאֹ֔ר SDBH of the river וְאֶחָ֥ד SDBH and one הֵ֖נָּה SDBH on the opposite לִשְׂפַ֥ת SDBH bank הַיְאֹֽר׃ SDBH . . .

Then I Daniel looked, and, hinei, two others were standing, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר SDBH One of them said לָאִישׁ֙ SDBH to the man לְב֣וּשׁ SDBH dressed הַבַּדִּ֔ים SDBH in linen אֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH who מִמַּ֖עַל SDBH was above לְמֵימֵ֣י SDBH the waters הַיְאֹ֑ר SDBH of the river עַד־ SDBH until מָתַ֖י SDBH How long קֵ֥ץ SDBH the fulfillment הַפְּלָאֽוֹת׃ SDBH of these wonders

And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the Ketz of these wonders?

וָאֶשְׁמַ֞ע SDBH and I heard אֶת־ SDBH him הָאִ֣ישׁ׀ SDBH And the man לְב֣וּשׁ SDBH dressed הַבַּדִּ֗ים SDBH in linen אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH who מִמַּעַל֮ SDBH was above לְמֵימֵ֣י SDBH the waters הַיְאֹר֒ SDBH of the river וַיָּ֨רֶם SDBH raised יְמִינ֤וֹ SDBH his right hand וּשְׂמֹאלוֹ֙ SDBH and his left hand אֶל־ toward הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם SDBH heaven וַיִּשָּׁבַ֖ע SDBH swear בְּחֵ֣י SDBH by Him who lives הָעוֹלָ֑ם SDBH forever כִּי֩ saying לְמוֹעֵ֨ד SDBH It will be for a time מֽוֹעֲדִ֜ים SDBH [and] times וָחֵ֗צִי SDBH and half a time וּכְכַלּ֛וֹת SDBH has finally been נַפֵּ֥ץ SDBH shattered יַד־ SDBH When the power עַם־ SDBH people קֹ֖דֶשׁ SDBH of the holy תִּכְלֶ֥ינָה SDBH will be completed כָל־ all אֵֽלֶּה׃ SDBH these things

And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto Shomayim, and swore, By the One who liveth haolam (forever), it shall be for a time, times, and a half a time; and when there is an end of breaking in pieces the yad Am Kodesh (power of the Holy People), all these things shall come to an end.

וַאֲנִ֥י SDBH I שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי SDBH heard וְלֹ֣א SDBH but I did not אָבִ֑ין SDBH understand וָאֹ֣מְרָ֔ה SDBH So I asked אֲדֹנִ֕י SDBH My lord מָ֥ה SDBH what אַחֲרִ֖ית SDBH will be the outcome אֵֽלֶּה׃פ SDBH of these [things]

And I heard, but I understood not. Then said I, Adoni, what shall be the end of these things?

וַיֹּ֖אמֶר SDBH he replied לֵ֣ךְ SDBH Go on your way דָּנִיֵּ֑אל SDBH Daniel כִּֽי־ for סְתֻמִ֧ים SDBH [are] closed up וַחֲתֻמִ֛ים SDBH and sealed הַדְּבָרִ֖ים SDBH the words עַד־ SDBH until עֵ֥ת SDBH the time קֵֽץ׃ SDBH of the end

And he said, Go thy way, Daniel, for the devarim are closed up and sealed till the Et Ketz (Time of the End).

יִ֠תְבָּֽרֲרוּ SDBH will be purified וְיִֽתְלַבְּנ֤וּ SDBH made spotless וְיִצָּֽרְפוּ֙ SDBH and refined רַבִּ֔ים SDBH Many וְהִרְשִׁ֣יעוּ SDBH will continue to act wickedly רְשָׁעִ֔ים SDBH but the wicked וְלֹ֥א SDBH None יָבִ֖ינוּ SDBH will understand כָּל־ . . . רְשָׁעִ֑ים SDBH of the wicked וְהַמַּשְׂכִּלִ֖ים SDBH but the wise יָבִֽינוּ׃ SDBH will understand

Many shall be purified, and made white, and refined; but the reshaim (wicked) shall do wickedly; and none of the resha'im shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

וּמֵעֵת֙ SDBH And from the time הוּסַ֣ר SDBH is abolished הַתָּמִ֔יד SDBH the daily [sacrifice] וְלָתֵ֖ת set up שִׁקּ֣וּץ SDBH and the abomination שֹׁמֵ֑ם SDBH of desolation יָמִ֕ים SDBH days אֶ֖לֶף SDBH there will be 1,290 מָאתַ֥יִם SDBH . . . וְתִשְׁעִֽים׃ SDBH . . .

And from the time that HaTamid (the Daily Sacrifice) shall be taken away, and the Shikkutz Shomem (Abomination Causing Desolation) set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety yamim.

אַשְׁרֵ֥י SDBH Blessed [is] הַֽמְחַכֶּ֖ה SDBH he who waits וְיַגִּ֑יעַ SDBH and reaches the end לְיָמִ֕ים SDBH days אֶ֕לֶף SDBH of the 1,335 שְׁלֹ֥שׁ SDBH . . . מֵא֖וֹת SDBH . . . שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים SDBH . . . וַחֲמִשָּֽׁה׃ SDBH . . .

Ashrei (blessed) is he who waiteth, and attains to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty yamim.

וְאַתָּ֖ה SDBH But as for you לֵ֣ךְ SDBH go on your way לַקֵּ֑ץ SDBH until the end וְתָנ֛וּחַ SDBH You will rest וְתַעֲמֹ֥ד SDBH and will arise לְגֹרָלְךָ֖ SDBH to your inheritance לְקֵ֥ץ SDBH at the end הַיָּמִֽין׃ SDBH of the days

But thou, go till HaKetz; for thou shalt rest, and shall arise to thy allotted inheritance at the Ketz HaYamin (End of Days). [T.N. NEXT WE HAVE EZRA'S DESCRIPTION OF THE RETURN FROM THE GOLUS AND THE REBUILDING OF THE BEIS HAMIKDASH. NOTE WHO IS STANDING UP ALIVE FROM THE DEATH OF THE BABYLONIAN EXILE... YESHUA (EZRA 3:2) WHO WAS THE GRANDSON OF SERAYAH, THAT CHIEF KOHEN BEFORE THE DESTRUCTION OF JERUSALEM (2KGS 25:18) AND ALSO DESCENDENT OF TZADOK OR ZADOK.]
