תְּפִלָּה֮ SDBH A prayer לְמֹשֶׁ֪ה SDBH of Moses אִֽישׁ־ SDBH the man הָאֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים SDBH of G-d אֲ‍ֽדֹנָ֗י SDBH Lord מָע֣וֹן SDBH dwelling place אַ֭תָּה SDBH You הָיִ֥יתָ have been לָּ֗נוּ our בְּדֹ֣ר SDBH through all וָדֹֽר׃ SDBH generations

(Tefillah of Moshe, ish HaElohim) Adonoi, Thou hast been our ma'on (dwelling place) b'dor vador.

בְּטֶ֤רֶם׀ SDBH Before הָ֘רִ֤ים SDBH the mountains יֻלָּ֗דוּ SDBH were born וַתְּח֣וֹלֵֽל SDBH or You brought forth אֶ֣רֶץ SDBH the earth וְתֵבֵ֑ל SDBH and the world וּֽמֵעוֹלָ֥ם SDBH from everlasting עַד־ SDBH to ע֝וֹלָ֗ם SDBH everlasting אַתָּ֥ה SDBH You אֵֽל׃ SDBH are G-d

Before the harim were brought forth, or ever Thou hadst formed eretz and the tevel (inhabited world), even from olam ad olam, Thou art El (G-d).

תָּשֵׁ֣ב SDBH You return אֱ֭נוֹשׁ SDBH man עַד־ SDBH to דַּכָּ֑א SDBH dust וַ֝תֹּ֗אמֶר SDBH saying שׁ֣וּבוּ SDBH Return בְנֵי־ SDBH O sons אָדָֽם׃ SDBH of mortals

Thou turnest enosh to dakka (dust); and sayest, Shuvu, ye Bnei Adam.

כִּ֤י For אֶ֪לֶף SDBH a thousand שָׁנִ֡ים SDBH years בְּֽעֵינֶ֗יךָ SDBH in Your sight כְּי֣וֹם SDBH are but אֶ֭תְמוֹל SDBH a day כִּ֣י that יַעֲבֹ֑ר SDBH passes וְאַשְׁמוּרָ֥ה SDBH or a watch בַלָּֽיְלָה׃ SDBH of the night

For an elef shanim in Thy sight are but as yom etmol (yesterday) when it is past, and as an ashmurah (watch, division of time) in the lailah.

זְ֭רַמְתָּם SDBH You sweep them away שֵׁנָ֣ה SDBH in their sleep יִהְי֑וּ they are בַּ֝בֹּ֗קֶר SDBH of the morning כֶּחָצִ֥יר SDBH like the new grass יַחֲלֹֽף׃ SDBH . . .

Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sheinah (sleep); in the boker they are like khatzir (grass) which withereth.

בַּ֭בֹּקֶר SDBH in the morning יָצִ֣יץ SDBH it springs up וְחָלָ֑ף SDBH new לָ֝עֶ֗רֶב SDBH [but] by evening יְמוֹלֵ֥ל SDBH it fades וְיָבֵֽשׁ׃ SDBH and withers

In the boker it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the erev it is cut down, and drieth up.

כִּֽי־ For כָלִ֥ינוּ SDBH we are consumed בְאַפֶּ֑ךָ SDBH by Your anger וּֽבַחֲמָתְךָ֥ SDBH by Your wrath נִבְהָֽלְנוּ׃ SDBH and terrified

For we are consumed by Thine anger, and by Thy chemah are we troubled.

שַׁתָּ SDBH You have set עֲוֺנֹתֵ֣ינוּ SDBH our iniquities לְנֶגְדֶּ֑ךָ before You עֲ֝לֻמֵ֗נוּ SDBH our secret [sins] לִמְא֥וֹר SDBH in the light פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ of Your presence

Thou hast set avonoteinu before Thee, our secret sins in the ohr of Thy countenance.

כִּ֣י For כָל־ all יָ֭מֵינוּ SDBH our days פָּנ֣וּ SDBH decline בְעֶבְרָתֶ֑ךָ SDBH in Your fury כִּלִּ֖ינוּ SDBH we finish שָׁנֵ֣ינוּ SDBH our years כְמוֹ־ SDBH with הֶֽגֶה׃ SDBH a sigh

For kol yameinu are passed away in Thy evrah (fury); we spend shaneinu (our years) like a sigh.

יְמֵֽי־ SDBH The length of our days שְׁנוֹתֵ֨ינוּ SDBH . . . בָהֶ֥ם שִׁבְעִ֪ים SDBH is seventy שָׁנָ֡ה SDBH years וְאִ֤ם SDBH if we are strong בִּגְבוּרֹ֨ת׀ SDBH . . . שְׁמ֘וֹנִ֤ים SDBH or eighty שָׁנָ֗ה SDBH - וְ֭רָהְבָּם SDBH yet their pride עָמָ֣ל SDBH is but labor וָאָ֑וֶן SDBH and sorrow כִּי־ for גָ֥ז SDBH pass חִ֝֗ישׁ SDBH they quickly וַנָּעֻֽפָה׃ SDBH and we fly away

The yamim of shnoteinu (our years, life) are threescore shanah and ten; and if by reason of gevurot they are fourscore shanah, yet is their boast amal (trouble, toil) and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

מִֽי־ SDBH Who י֭וֹדֵעַ SDBH knows עֹ֣ז SDBH the power אַפֶּ֑ךָ SDBH of Your anger וּ֝כְיִרְאָתְךָ֗ SDBH matches the fear You are due עֶבְרָתֶֽךָ׃ SDBH Your wrath

Who has da'as of the oz (power) of Thine anger? Thy evrah is as great as Thy yirah (fear of, reverence owed G-d).

לִמְנ֣וֹת SDBH to number יָ֭מֵינוּ SDBH our days כֵּ֣ן SDBH So הוֹדַ֑ע SDBH teach us וְ֝נָבִ֗א SDBH that we may present לְבַ֣ב SDBH a heart חָכְמָֽה׃ SDBH of wisdom

So teach us to number yameinu, that we may apply levav unto chochmah.

שׁוּבָ֣ה SDBH Return יְ֭הוָה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi עַד־ SDBH How long will it be מָתָ֑י SDBH . . . וְ֝הִנָּחֵ֗ם SDBH Have compassion עַל־ on עֲבָדֶֽיךָ׃ SDBH Your servants

Shuvah, Hashem. Ad mosai? Have compassion on Thy avadim.

שַׂבְּעֵ֣נוּ SDBH Satisfy us בַבֹּ֣קֶר SDBH in the morning חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ SDBH with Your loving devotion וּֽנְרַנְּנָ֥ה SDBH that we may sing for joy וְ֝נִשְׂמְחָ֗ה SDBH and be glad בְּכָל־ all יָמֵֽינוּ׃ SDBH our days

O satisfy us baboker with Thy chesed; that we may sing for joy and be glad kol yameinu (all our days).

15

שַׂ֭מְּחֵנוּ SDBH Make us glad כִּימ֣וֹת SDBH for as many days עִנִּיתָ֑נוּ SDBH as You have afflicted us שְׁ֝נ֗וֹת SDBH for as many years רָאִ֥ינוּ SDBH as we have seen רָעָֽה׃ SDBH evil

Make us glad according to the days wherein Thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen ra'ah.

16

יֵרָאֶ֣ה SDBH be shown אֶל־ to עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ SDBH Your servants פָעֳלֶ֑ךָ SDBH May Your work וַ֝הֲדָרְךָ֗ SDBH and Your splendor עַל־ to בְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ SDBH their children

Let Thy work appear unto Thy avadim, and Thy glory unto their banim.

17

וִיהִ֤י׀ rest נֹ֤עַם SDBH May the favor אֲדֹנָ֥י SDBH of the Lord אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ SDBH our G-d עָ֫לֵ֥ינוּ upon us וּמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה SDBH the work יָ֭דֵינוּ SDBH of our hands כּוֹנְנָ֥ה SDBH establish עָלֵ֑ינוּ for us וּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה SDBH the work יָ֝דֵ֗ינוּ SDBH of our hands כּוֹנְנֵֽהוּ׃ SDBH yes, establish

And let the no'am (favor, delightfulness) of Adonoi Eloheinu be upon us; and establish Thou the ma'aseh yadeinu upon us; yes, the ma'aseh yadeinu establish Thou it.
