Tehillim 75 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ SDBH For the choirmaster אַל־ vvv תַּשְׁחֵ֑ת [To the tune of] “Do Not Destroy מִזְמ֖וֹר SDBH A Psalm לְאָסָ֣ף SDBH of Asaph שִֽׁיר׃ SDBH A song ה֘וֹדִ֤ינוּ SDBH We give thanks לְּךָ֨׀ to You אֱ‍ֽלֹהִ֗ים SDBH O G-d ה֭וֹדִינוּ SDBH we give thanks וְקָר֣וֹב SDBH is near שְׁמֶ֑ךָ SDBH for Your Name סִ֝פְּר֗וּ SDBH The people declare נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ SDBH Your wondrous works

(For the one directing. Set to Do Not Destroy. Mizmor Asaph. Shir) Hodinu l'cha Elohim (Unto thee, Elohim, do we give thanks). Hodinu; that Thy Shem is near Thy wondrous works declare.

כִּ֭י When אֶקַּ֣ח SDBH I choose מוֹעֵ֑ד SDBH a time אֲ֝נִ֗י SDBH I מֵישָׁרִ֥ים SDBH fairly אֶשְׁפֹּֽט׃ SDBH will judge

I shall seize the mo'ed (appointed time, Chabakuk 2:3) I will judge uprightly.

נְֽמֹגִ֗ים SDBH quake אֶ֥רֶץ SDBH When the earth וְכָל־ and all יֹשְׁבֶ֑יהָ SDBH its dwellers אָנֹכִ֨י SDBH it is I תִכַּ֖נְתִּי SDBH who bear up עַמּוּדֶ֣יהָ SDBH its pillars סֶּֽלָה׃ SDBH Selah

Eretz and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolving; I, even I, hold up the ammudim (pillars) of it. Selah.

אָמַ֣רְתִּי SDBH I say לַֽ֭הוֹלְלִים SDBH to the proud אַל־ Do not תָּהֹ֑לּוּ SDBH boast וְ֝לָרְשָׁעִ֗ים SDBH and to the wicked אַל־ Do not תָּרִ֥ימוּ SDBH lift up קָֽרֶן׃ SDBH your horn

I said unto the hollelim (arrogant), Deal not boastfully; and to the resha'im, Lift not up the keren;

אַל־ Do not תָּרִ֣ימוּ SDBH lift up לַמָּר֣וֹם SDBH against heaven קַרְנְכֶ֑ם SDBH your horn תְּדַבְּר֖וּ SDBH or speak בְצַוָּ֣אר SDBH neck עָתָֽק׃ SDBH with an outstretched

Lift not up your keren on high; speak not with a stiff neck.

כִּ֤י For לֹ֣א SDBH comes neither מִ֭מּוֹצָא SDBH from east וּמִֽמַּעֲרָ֑ב SDBH nor west וְ֝לֹ֗א SDBH nor מִמִּדְבַּ֥ר SDBH out of the desert הָרִֽים׃ SDBH exaltation

For promotion cometh lo (not) from the east, nor from the west, nor from the desert.

כִּֽי־ but אֱלֹהִ֥ים SDBH it is G-d שֹׁפֵ֑ט SDBH who judges זֶ֥ה SDBH one יַ֝שְׁפִּ֗יל SDBH He brings down וְזֶ֣ה SDBH another יָרִֽים׃ SDBH and exalts

But Elohim is the Shofet; He bringeth down one, and setteth up another.

כִּ֤י For כ֪וֹס SDBH a cup בְּֽיַד־ SDBH is in the hand יְהוָ֡ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וְיַ֤יִן SDBH wine חָמַ֨ר׀ SDBH foaming מָ֥לֵא SDBH full of מֶסֶךְ֮ SDBH mixed with spices וַיַּגֵּ֪ר SDBH He pours מִ֫זֶּ֥ה SDBH from [His cup] אַךְ־ SDBH and שְׁ֭מָרֶיהָ SDBH to the dregs יִמְצ֣וּ SDBH . . . יִשְׁתּ֑וּ SDBH drink it down כֹּ֝֗ל all רִשְׁעֵי־ SDBH the wicked אָֽרֶץ׃ SDBH of the earth

For in the yad Hashem there is a kos, and the yayin is foaming; full of mixture; and He poureth out of the same; but the dregs thereof, all rishei aretz (wicked of the earth) shall drain them down, and drink them [Lk 22:42].

וַ֭אֲנִי SDBH But I אַגִּ֣יד SDBH will proclaim Him לְעֹלָ֑ם SDBH forever אֲ֝זַמְּרָ֗ה SDBH I will sing praise לֵאלֹהֵ֥י SDBH to the G-d יַעֲקֹֽב׃ SDBH of Jacob

But I will proclaim l'olam; I will sing zemirot to Elohei Ya'akov.

וְכָל־ All קַרְנֵ֣י SDBH the horns רְשָׁעִ֣ים SDBH of the wicked אֲגַדֵּ֑עַ SDBH I will cut off תְּ֝רוֹמַ֗מְנָה SDBH will be exalted קַֽרְנ֥וֹת SDBH but the horns צַדִּֽיק׃ SDBH of the righteous

All the karnayim of the resha'im also will I cut off; but the karnayim of the tzaddik shall be exalted. [T.N. IN THIS PSALM WE SEE THAT G-D IS JUDGE. THE BIBLE SPEAKS OF A GREAT ASSIZE WHERE THERE WILL BE A VERDICT REGARDING THE SHEEP AND THE GOATS, THE REDEEMED AND THE REPROBATE. SEE REV 19:11 AND 20:4-5.]
