Then Iyov answered and said,
How long will ye torment my nefesh, and crush me with words?
These ten times have ye reproached me; ye have no bushah that ye cause me astonishment.
And be it indeed that I have erred, mine meshugah (error) remaineth with myself.

אִם־ SDBH If אָ֭מְנָם SDBH indeed עָלַ֣י above me תַּגְדִּ֑ילוּ SDBH you would exalt [yourselves] וְתוֹכִ֥יחוּ SDBH . . . עָ֝לַ֗י against me חֶרְפָּתִּֽי׃ SDBH and use my disgrace
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves above me, and use against me my cherpah (reproach, humiliation),
Have da'as now that Eloah hath put me in the wrong, and hath encompassed me with his matzud (net).

הֵ֤ן Though אֶצְעַ֣ק SDBH I cry out חָ֭מָס SDBH Violence וְלֹ֣א SDBH I get no אֵעָנֶ֑ה SDBH response אֲ֝שַׁוַּ֗ע SDBH though I call for help וְאֵ֣ין SDBH there is no מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ SDBH justice
Behold, when I cry chamas, I am not heard; I cry for help, but there is no mishpat.
He hath fenced around my way that I cannot pass, and set choshech in my paths.
He hath stripped me of my kavod, and taken the ateret from my rosh.

יִתְּצֵ֣נִי SDBH He tears me down סָ֭בִיב on every side וָאֵלַ֑ךְ SDBH until I am gone וַיַּסַּ֥ע SDBH He uproots כָּ֝עֵ֗ץ SDBH like a tree תִּקְוָתִֽי׃ SDBH my hope
He breaks me down on every side till I am gone, and mine tikveh hath He uprooted like an etz.
11
וַיַּ֣חַר SDBH burns עָלַ֣י against me אַפּ֑וֹ SDBH His anger וַיַּחְשְׁבֵ֖נִי SDBH and He counts me ל֣וֹ כְצָרָֽיו׃ SDBH among His enemies
He hath also kindled His wrath against me, and He counteth me unto Him as His tzar (enemy).
His forces come together, and raise up their seige ramp against me, and encamp around my ohel.

אַ֭חַי SDBH my brothers מֵעָלַ֣י from me הִרְחִ֑יק SDBH He has removed וְ֝יֹדְעַ֗י SDBH my acquaintances אַךְ־ SDBH . . . זָ֥רוּ SDBH have abandoned מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ me
He hath put achai (my brethren) far from me, and mine acquaintances are verily estranged from me.

My kerov (near and dear) have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
They that dwell in mine bais, and my maidservants, count me for a zar; I am a nokhri in their sight.
16
לְעַבְדִּ֣י SDBH for my servant קָ֭רָאתִי SDBH I call וְלֹ֣א SDBH but he does not יַעֲנֶ֑ה SDBH answer בְּמוֹ־ with פִ֝֗י SDBH my own mouth אֶתְחַנֶּן־ SDBH though I implore לֽוֹ׃ him
I summoned avdi, and he gave me no answer; I entreated him with my mouth.
17
My ruach is repulsive to my isha, loathsome to bnei beten of mine.
18
גַּם־ SDBH Even עֲ֭וִילִים SDBH little boys מָ֣אֲסוּ SDBH scorn בִ֑י me אָ֝ק֗וּמָה SDBH when I appear וַיְדַבְּרוּ־ SDBH they deride בִֽי׃ me
Even avilim (little children) treat me with contempt; I appear, and they ridicule me.
19
תִּֽ֭עֲבוּנִי SDBH despise me כָּל־ All מְתֵ֣י SDBH my best friends סוֹדִ֑י SDBH . . . וְזֶֽה־ SDBH and those אָ֝הַ֗בְתִּי SDBH I love נֶהְפְּכוּ־ SDBH have turned בִֽי׃ against me
All my metei sod (confidants) detest me, and they whom I loved are turned against me.
My etzem cleaveth to my ohr (skin) and to my basar, and I am escaped only by the skin of my teeth.
21
חָנֻּ֬נִי SDBH Have pity on me חָנֻּ֣נִי SDBH have pity אַתֶּ֣ם SDBH . . . רֵעָ֑י SDBH my friends כִּ֥י for יַד־ SDBH the hand אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַּ SDBH of G-d נָ֣גְעָה SDBH has struck בִּֽי׃ me
Chanuni, chanuni, O ye my friends; for the yad Eloah hath touched me.
Why do ye persecute me like El, not satisfied with my basar?
Oh that my words were but written! O that they were recorded in a sefer!
That they were engraved with a pen of barzel and with oferet (lead) in the tzur forever!
For Ani yadati Goeli chai (I know that my Redeemer liveth), and that he shall stand up at Acharon (at the Last) upon aphar (dust, the earth);
And though after my ohr (skin) has been thus destroyed, yet from my basar I shall see Eloah;
27
אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH Him אֲנִ֨י׀ SDBH I אֶֽחֱזֶה־ SDBH will see לִּ֗י for myself וְעֵינַ֣י SDBH my eyes רָא֣וּ SDBH will behold Him וְלֹא־ SDBH and not זָ֑ר SDBH as a stranger כָּל֖וּ SDBH yearns כִלְיֹתַ֣י SDBH How my heart בְּחֵקִֽי׃ SDBH within me
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold and no other; my heart faints within me.
28
כִּ֣י If תֹ֭אמְרוּ SDBH you say מַה־ SDBH [Let us] נִּרְדָּף־ SDBH persecute ל֑וֹ him וְשֹׁ֥רֶשׁ SDBH since the root דָּ֝בָ֗ר SDBH of the matter נִמְצָא־ SDBH lies בִֽי׃ with him
But ye think, How we will persecute him, seeing the shoresh (root) of the matter is found in me?
29
גּ֤וּרוּ SDBH [then] you should fear לָכֶ֨ם׀ yourselves מִפְּנֵי־ . . . חֶ֗רֶב SDBH the sword כִּֽי־ because חֵ֭מָה SDBH wrath עֲוֺנ֣וֹת SDBH brings punishment חָ֑רֶב SDBH by the sword לְמַ֖עַן so that תֵּדְע֣וּן SDBH you may know שַׁדִּין׃ס SDBH [there is] a judgment
Be ye afraid of the cherev; for wrath bringeth the avonot (punishments) of the cherev, that ye may know there is a judgment.
