Yeshayah 6 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

בִּשְׁנַת־ SDBH In the year מוֹת֙ SDBH died הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ SDBH that King עֻזִּיָּ֔הוּ SDBH Uzziah וָאֶרְאֶ֧ה SDBH I saw אֶת־ SDBH - אֲדֹנָ֛י SDBH the Lord יֹשֵׁ֥ב SDBH seated עַל־ on כִּסֵּ֖א SDBH a throne רָ֣ם SDBH high וְנִשָּׂ֑א SDBH and exalted וְשׁוּלָ֖יו SDBH and the train of His robe מְלֵאִ֥ים SDBH filled אֶת־ SDBH - הַהֵיכָֽל׃ SDBH the temple

In the year that the Melech Uziyah died, I saw Adonoi sitting upon a kisse, high and lifted up, and His robe filled the Heikhal.

שְׂרָפִ֨ים SDBH seraphim עֹמְדִ֤ים׀ SDBH stood מִמַּ֙עַל֙ SDBH Above ל֔וֹ Him שֵׁ֧שׁ SDBH having six כְּנָפַ֛יִם SDBH wings שֵׁ֥שׁ SDBH כְּנָפַ֖יִם SDBH לְאֶחָ֑ד SDBH each בִּשְׁתַּ֣יִם׀ SDBH With two [wings] יְכַסֶּ֣ה SDBH they covered פָנָ֗יו their faces וּבִשְׁתַּ֛יִם SDBH with two יְכַסֶּ֥ה SDBH they covered רַגְלָ֖יו SDBH their feet וּבִשְׁתַּ֥יִם SDBH and with two יְעוֹפֵֽף׃ SDBH they were flying

Above Him stood ministering the [flaming] seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he did fly.

וְקָרָ֨א SDBH were calling out זֶ֤ה SDBH And they אֶל־ to זֶה֙ SDBH one another וְאָמַ֔ר SDBH . . . קָד֧וֹשׁ׀ SDBH Holy קָד֛וֹשׁ SDBH holy קָד֖וֹשׁ SDBH holy יְהוָ֣ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi צְבָא֑וֹת SDBH of Hosts מְלֹ֥א SDBH is full כָל־ all הָאָ֖רֶץ SDBH the earth כְּבוֹדֽוֹ׃ SDBH of His glory

And one cried unto another, and said, Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh, is Hashem Tzva'os; kol ha'aretz is full of His kavod.

וַיָּנֻ֙עוּ֙ SDBH shook אַמּ֣וֹת SDBH the doorposts הַסִּפִּ֔ים SDBH and thresholds מִקּ֖וֹל SDBH At the sound הַקּוֹרֵ֑א SDBH of their voices וְהַבַּ֖יִת SDBH and the temple יִמָּלֵ֥א SDBH was filled עָשָֽׁן׃ SDBH with smoke

And the doorposts shook at the voice of him that cried, and the Beis [Hamikdash] was filled with smoke.

וָאֹמַ֞ר SDBH Then I said אֽוֹי־ SDBH Woe לִ֣י is me כִֽי־ for נִדְמֵ֗יתִי SDBH I am ruined כִּ֣י because אִ֤ישׁ SDBH am a man טְמֵֽא־ SDBH of unclean שְׂפָתַ֙יִם֙ SDBH lips אָנֹ֔כִי SDBH I וּבְתוֹךְ֙ SDBH among עַם־ SDBH a people טְמֵ֣א SDBH of unclean שְׂפָתַ֔יִם SDBH lips אָנֹכִ֖י SDBH . . . יוֹשֵׁ֑ב SDBH dwelling כִּ֗י for אֶת־ SDBH - הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ SDBH the King יְהוָ֥ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi צְבָא֖וֹת SDBH of Hosts רָא֥וּ SDBH have seen עֵינָֽי׃ SDBH my eyes

Then said I, Oy (Woe) is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for mine eyes have seen HaMelech, Hashem Tzva'os.

וַיָּ֣עָף SDBH flew אֵלַ֗י to me אֶחָד֙ SDBH Then one מִן־ of הַשְּׂרָפִ֔ים SDBH the seraphim וּבְיָד֖וֹ SDBH and in his hand רִצְפָּ֑ה SDBH was a glowing coal בְּמֶ֨לְקַחַ֔יִם SDBH with tongs לָקַ֖ח SDBH that he had taken מֵעַ֥ל from הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ SDBH the altar

Then flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a live coal in his yad, which he had taken with the tongs from off the Mizbe'ach:

וַיַּגַּ֣ע SDBH And with it he touched עַל־ . . . פִּ֔י SDBH my mouth וַיֹּ֕אמֶר SDBH and said הִנֵּ֛ה Now that נָגַ֥ע SDBH has touched זֶ֖ה SDBH this עַל־ . . . שְׂפָתֶ֑יךָ SDBH your lips וְסָ֣ר SDBH is removed עֲוֺנֶ֔ךָ SDBH your iniquity וְחַטָּאתְךָ֖ SDBH and your sin תְּכֻפָּֽר׃ SDBH is atoned for

And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Hinei, this hath touched thy lips; and thine avon (iniquity) is taken away, and kapporah is made for the purging of thy chattat (sin).

וָאֶשְׁמַ֞ע SDBH Then I heard אֶת־ SDBH - ק֤וֹל SDBH the voice אֲדֹנָי֙ SDBH of the Lord אֹמֵ֔ר SDBH saying אֶת־ SDBH - מִ֥י SDBH Whom אֶשְׁלַ֖ח SDBH shall I send וּמִ֣י SDBH Who יֵֽלֶךְ־ SDBH will go לָ֑נוּ for Us וָאֹמַ֖ר SDBH And I said הִנְנִ֥י Here am I שְׁלָחֵֽנִי׃ SDBH Send me

Also I heard the voice of Adonoi, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then said I, Hineini; send me.

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר SDBH And He replied לֵ֥ךְ SDBH Go וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ SDBH and tell לָעָ֣ם SDBH people הַזֶּ֑ה SDBH this שִׁמְע֤וּ SDBH Be ever hearing שָׁמ֙וֹעַ֙ SDBH . . . וְאַל־ but never תָּבִ֔ינוּ SDBH understanding וּרְא֥וּ SDBH be ever seeing רָא֖וֹ SDBH . . . וְאַל־ but never תֵּדָֽעוּ׃ SDBH perceiving

And He said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see indeed, but perceive not.

הַשְׁמֵן֙ SDBH calloused לֵב־ SDBH {Make} the hearts הָעָ֣ם SDBH people הַזֶּ֔ה SDBH of this וְאָזְנָ֥יו SDBH their ears הַכְבֵּ֖ד SDBH deafen וְעֵינָ֣יו SDBH their eyes הָשַׁ֑ע SDBH and close פֶּן־ Otherwise יִרְאֶ֨ה SDBH they might see בְעֵינָ֜יו SDBH with their eyes וּבְאָזְנָ֣יו SDBH with their ears יִשְׁמָ֗ע SDBH hear וּלְבָב֥וֹ SDBH with their hearts יָבִ֛ין SDBH understand וָשָׁ֖ב SDBH and turn וְרָ֥פָא SDBH and be healed לֽוֹ׃

Make the lev HaAm hazeh stubborn, and make their ears stopped up, their eyes heavy; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their lev. And have a spiritual turnaround conversion, and be healed.

וָאֹמַ֕ר SDBH Then I asked עַד־ SDBH How long מָתַ֖י SDBH . . . אֲדֹנָ֑י SDBH O Lord וַיֹּ֡אמֶר SDBH And He replied עַ֣ד SDBH Until אֲשֶׁר֩ SDBH - אִם־ SDBH - שָׁא֨וּ SDBH lie ruined עָרִ֜ים SDBH the cities מֵאֵ֣ין SDBH and without יוֹשֵׁ֗ב SDBH inhabitant וּבָתִּים֙ SDBH until the houses מֵאֵ֣ין SDBH are left unoccupied אָדָ֔ם SDBH . . . וְהָאֲדָמָ֖ה SDBH and the land תִּשָּׁאֶ֥ה SDBH is desolate שְׁמָמָֽה׃ SDBH and ravaged

Then cried I, Adonoi, ad mosai (how much longer [WILL THIS GO ON]? And He answered, Until the towns be wasted without inhabitant, and the batim (houses) are without man, and the ground be utterly desolate, a wilderness,

וְרִחַ֥ק SDBH far away יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֶת־ SDBH - הָאָדָ֑ם SDBH has driven men וְרַבָּ֥ה SDBH is utterly הָעֲזוּבָ֖ה SDBH forsaken בְּקֶ֥רֶב SDBH . . . הָאָֽרֶץ׃ SDBH and the land

And Hashem have removed men far away, and there be many forsaken places within the land.

וְע֥וֹד And though בָּהּ֙ in [the land] עֲשִׂ֣רִיָּ֔ה SDBH a tenth [remains] וְשָׁ֖בָה SDBH again וְהָיְתָ֣ה it will be לְבָעֵ֑ר SDBH burned כָּאֵלָ֣ה SDBH As the terebinth וְכָאַלּ֗וֹן SDBH and oak אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH - בְּשַׁלֶּ֙כֶת֙ SDBH when felled מַצֶּ֣בֶת SDBH leave stumps בָּ֔ם זֶ֥רַע SDBH seed קֹ֖דֶשׁ SDBH so the holy מַצַּבְתָּֽהּ׃פ SDBH will be a stump [in the land]

But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall be given up to destruction, like the terebinth and like the oak, when they are felled, leave [AS A REMNANT] a root-stump: so the root-stump shall be the zera kodesh. [T.N. THIS NEXT CHAPTER IS POSSIBLY THE MOST IMPORTANT IN THE BIBLE AND IS DEALT WITH IN THE TRANSLATOR TO THE READER.]
