Hoshea 7 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

כְּרָפְאִ֣י SDBH When I heal לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל SDBH Israel וְנִגְלָ֞ה SDBH will be exposed עֲוֺ֤ן SDBH the iniquity אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ SDBH of Ephraim וְרָע֣וֹת SDBH as well as the crimes שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן SDBH of Samaria כִּ֥י For פָעֲל֖וּ SDBH they practice שָׁ֑קֶר SDBH deceit וְגַנָּ֣ב SDBH and thieves יָב֔וֹא SDBH break in פָּשַׁ֥ט SDBH raid גְּד֖וּד SDBH bandits בַּחֽוּץ׃ SDBH in the streets

When I would have healed Yisroel, then the avon (iniquity) of Ephrayim was exposed, and the ra'ot (crimes) of Shomron; for they practice sheker; and the ganav intrudes, and the bandit robs bachutz (in the street).

וּבַל־ SDBH But they fail to יֹֽאמְרוּ֙ SDBH consider לִלְבָבָ֔ם SDBH in their hearts כָּל־ all רָעָתָ֖ם SDBH their evil זָכָ֑רְתִּי SDBH that I remember עַתָּה֙ SDBH Now סְבָב֣וּם SDBH are all around them מַֽעַלְלֵיהֶ֔ם SDBH their deeds נֶ֥גֶד before פָּנַ֖י My face הָיֽוּ׃ they are

And they consider not in their levavot that I remember all their ra'ah; now their own evil doings surround them; they are before My face.

בְּרָעָתָ֖ם SDBH with their evil יְשַׂמְּחוּ־ SDBH They delight מֶ֑לֶךְ SDBH the king וּבְכַחֲשֵׁיהֶ֖ם SDBH with their lies שָׂרִֽים׃ SDBH and the princes

They make the Melech glad with their ra'ah, and the sarim (princes) with their lies.

כֻּלָּם֙ They are all מְנָ֣אֲפִ֔ים SDBH adulterers כְּמ֣וֹ SDBH like תַנּ֔וּר SDBH an oven בֹּעֵ֖רָה SDBH heated מֵֽאֹפֶ֑ה SDBH by a baker יִשְׁבּ֣וֹת SDBH who needs not מֵעִ֔יר SDBH stoke the fire מִלּ֥וּשׁ SDBH from the kneading בָּצֵ֖ק SDBH of the dough עַד־ SDBH to חֻמְצָתֽוֹ׃ SDBH the rising

They are all no'afim (adulterers), as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth stirring from the kneading of the batzek (dough), until its chametz leavening rises.

י֣וֹם SDBH on the day מַלְכֵּ֔נוּ SDBH of our king הֶחֱל֥וּ SDBH are inflamed שָׂרִ֖ים SDBH The princes חֲמַ֣ת SDBH . . . מִיָּ֑יִן SDBH with wine מָשַׁ֥ךְ SDBH so he joins hands יָד֖וֹ SDBH . . . אֶת־ SDBH with לֹצְצִֽים׃ SDBH those who mock him

In the Yom Malkeinu the sarim (princes) have made him sick with the heat of yayin; he has stretched out his hand with the letzim (mockers).

כִּֽי־ For קֵרְב֧וּ SDBH they prepare כַתַּנּ֛וּר SDBH like an oven לִבָּ֖ם SDBH their heart בְּאָרְבָּ֑ם SDBH while they lie in wait כָּל־ all הַלַּ֙יְלָה֙ SDBH night יָשֵׁ֣ן SDBH smolders אֹֽפֵהֶ֔ם SDBH their anger בֹּ֕קֶר SDBH in the morning ה֥וּא SDBH it בֹעֵ֖ר SDBH blazes כְּאֵ֥שׁ SDBH fire לֶהָבָֽה׃ SDBH like a flaming

For they have made ready their lev like an oven, while they lie in wait; their anger smolders kol halailah; in the boker it burneth like an eish of flame.

כֻּלָּ֤ם All יֵחַ֙מּוּ֙ SDBH of them are hot כַּתַּנּ֔וּר SDBH as an oven וְאָכְל֖וּ SDBH and they devour אֶת־ SDBH - שֹֽׁפְטֵיהֶ֑ם SDBH their rulers כָּל־ All מַלְכֵיהֶ֣ם SDBH their kings נָפָ֔לוּ SDBH fall אֵין־ SDBH not one קֹרֵ֥א SDBH calls בָהֶ֖ם of them אֵלָֽי׃ upon Me

They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their shofetim; all their melachim are fallen; there is none among them that calleth unto Me.

8

אֶפְרַ֕יִם SDBH Ephraim בָּעַמִּ֖ים SDBH with the nations ה֣וּא SDBH vvv יִתְבּוֹלָ֑ל SDBH mixes אֶפְרַ֛יִם SDBH Ephraim הָיָ֥ה is עֻגָ֖ה SDBH cake בְּלִ֥י SDBH vvv הֲפוּכָֽה׃ SDBH an unturned

Ephrayim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephrayim is a flat cake not turned over.

אָכְל֤וּ SDBH consume זָרִים֙ SDBH Foreigners כֹּח֔וֹ SDBH his strength וְה֖וּא SDBH but he לֹ֣א SDBH does not יָדָ֑ע SDBH notice גַּם־ SDBH Even שֵׂיבָה֙ SDBH with gray זָ֣רְקָה SDBH his hair is streaked בּ֔וֹ וְה֖וּא SDBH but he לֹ֥א SDBH does not יָדָֽע׃ SDBH know

Zarim have devoured his ko'ach, and he knoweth it not; yea, gray hairs are sprinkled upon him, yet he hath no da'as.

וְעָנָ֥ה SDBH testifies גְאֽוֹן־ SDBH arrogance יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל SDBH Israel’s בְּפָנָ֑יו against them וְלֹֽא־ SDBH yet they do not שָׁ֙בוּ֙ SDBH return אֶל־ to יְהוָ֣ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֔ם SDBH their G-d וְלֹ֥א SDBH they do not בִקְשֻׁ֖הוּ SDBH seek Him בְּכָל־ despite all זֹֽאת׃ SDBH this

And the ga'on Yisroel testifieth to his face; and they do not return to Hashem Eloheihem, nor seek Him for all this.

וַיְהִ֣י has become אֶפְרַ֔יִם SDBH So Ephraim כְּיוֹנָ֥ה SDBH dove פוֹתָ֖ה SDBH like a silly אֵ֣ין SDBH senseless לֵ֑ב SDBH . . . מִצְרַ֥יִם SDBH to Egypt קָרָ֖אוּ SDBH calling out אַשּׁ֥וּר SDBH to Assyria הָלָֽכוּ׃ SDBH then turning

Ephrayim also is like an easily deceived yonah without sense; they call to Mitzrayim, they turn to Assyria.

כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH As יֵלֵ֗כוּ SDBH they go אֶפְר֤וֹשׂ SDBH I will spread עֲלֵיהֶם֙ over them רִשְׁתִּ֔י SDBH My net כְּע֥וֹף SDBH like birds הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם SDBH of the air אֽוֹרִידֵ֑ם SDBH I will bring them down אַיְסִרֵ֕ם SDBH I will chastise them כְּשֵׁ֖מַע SDBH when I hear them לַעֲדָתָֽם׃ס SDBH flocking together

When they shall go, I will spread My reshet (net) upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of Shomayim; I will chastise them, when I hear them congregating.

13

א֤וֹי SDBH Woe לָהֶם֙ to them כִּֽי־ for נָדְד֣וּ SDBH they have strayed מִמֶּ֔נִּי from Me שֹׁ֥ד SDBH Destruction לָהֶ֖ם to them כִּֽי־ for פָ֣שְׁעוּ SDBH they have rebelled בִ֑י against Me וְאָנֹכִ֣י SDBH Though I אֶפְדֵּ֔ם SDBH would redeem them וְהֵ֕מָּה SDBH . . . דִּבְּר֥וּ SDBH they speak עָלַ֖י against Me כְּזָבִֽים׃ SDBH lies

Woe unto them! For they have strayed from Me. Sod (destruction) unto them because they have committed pesha against Me! Though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken kazav (lies) against Me. [

וְלֹֽא־ SDBH They do not זָעֲק֤וּ SDBH cry out אֵלַי֙ to Me בְּלִבָּ֔ם SDBH from their hearts כִּ֥י when יְיֵלִ֖ילוּ SDBH they wail עַל־ upon מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָ֑ם SDBH their beds עַל־ for דָּגָ֧ן SDBH grain וְתִיר֛וֹשׁ SDBH and new wine יִתְגּוֹרָ֖רוּ SDBH They slash themselves יָס֥וּרוּ SDBH but turn away בִֽי׃ from Me

And they have not cried unto Me with their levavot, when they wailed upon their beds; they congregate themselves for dagan and tirosh, and they depart from Me.

15

וַאֲנִ֣י SDBH Although I יִסַּ֔רְתִּי SDBH trained חִזַּ֖קְתִּי SDBH and strengthened זְרֽוֹעֹתָ֑ם SDBH their arms וְאֵלַ֖י against Me יְחַשְּׁבוּ־ SDBH they plot רָֽע׃ SDBH evil

Though I have trained and strengthened their zero'ot (arms), yet do they plot rah against Me.

16

יָשׁ֣וּבוּ׀ SDBH They turn לֹ֣א SDBH but not עָ֗ל to the Most High הָיוּ֙ they are כְּקֶ֣שֶׁת SDBH bow רְמִיָּ֔ה SDBH like a faulty יִפְּל֥וּ SDBH will fall בַחֶ֛רֶב SDBH by the sword שָׂרֵיהֶ֖ם SDBH Their leaders מִזַּ֣עַם SDBH for the cursing לְשׁוֹנָ֑ם SDBH of their tongue ז֥וֹ SDBH for this לַעְגָּ֖ם SDBH they will be ridiculed בְּאֶ֥רֶץ SDBH in the land מִצְרָֽיִם׃ SDBH of Egypt

They return, but not to Most High; they are like a faulty keshet; their sarim (princes) shall fall by the cherev for the insolence of their leshon; this shall be their derision in Eretz Mitzrayim.
