Tehillim 143 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

מִזְמ֗וֹר SDBH A Psalm לְדָ֫וִ֥ד SDBH of David יְהוָ֤ה׀ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi שְׁמַ֬ע SDBH hear תְּפִלָּתִ֗י SDBH my prayer הַאֲזִ֥ינָה SDBH give ear אֶל־ to תַּחֲנוּנַ֑י SDBH my plea בֶּאֱמֻנָתְךָ֥ SDBH In Your faithfulness עֲ֝נֵ֗נִי SDBH answer me בְּצִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃ SDBH in Your righteousness

(Mizmor of Dovid) Hear my tefillah, Hashem, give ear to my techinot (supplications); in Thy emunah answer me, and in Thy tzedakah.

וְאַל־ Do not תָּב֣וֹא SDBH bring בְ֭מִשְׁפָּט SDBH into judgment אֶת־ SDBH . . . עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ SDBH Your servant כִּ֤י for לֹֽא־ SDBH no one יִצְדַּ֖ק SDBH is righteous לְפָנֶ֣יךָ before You כָל־ . . . חָֽי׃ SDBH alive

And enter not into mishpat with Thy eved; for in Thy sight shall no man living be yitzadak (justified).

כִּ֥י For רָ֘דַ֤ף SDBH has pursued אוֹיֵ֨ב׀ SDBH the enemy נַפְשִׁ֗י SDBH my soul דִּכָּ֣א SDBH crushing לָ֭אָרֶץ SDBH to the ground חַיָּתִ֑י SDBH my life הוֹשִׁיבַ֥נִי SDBH making me dwell בְ֝מַחֲשַׁכִּ֗ים SDBH in darkness כְּמֵתֵ֥י SDBH dead עוֹלָֽם׃ SDBH like those long since

For the oyev (enemy) hath persecuted my nefesh; he hath struck down my life to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in places of choshech (darkness), like metei olam (those long dead).

וַתִּתְעַטֵּ֣ף SDBH grows faint עָלַ֣י within me רוּחִ֑י SDBH My spirit בְּ֝תוֹכִ֗י SDBH inside me יִשְׁתּוֹמֵ֥ם SDBH is dismayed לִבִּֽי׃ SDBH my heart

Therefore is my ruach become faint within me; my lev within me is desolate.

זָ֘כַ֤רְתִּי SDBH I remember יָמִ֨ים׀ SDBH the days מִקֶּ֗דֶם SDBH of old הָגִ֥יתִי SDBH I meditate בְכָל־ on all פָּעֳלֶ֑ךָ SDBH Your works בְּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖ה SDBH the work יָדֶ֣יךָ SDBH of Your hands אֲשׂוֹחֵֽחַ׃ SDBH I consider

I remember yamim mikedem (days of old), I meditate on all Thy works; I muse on the ma'aseh (work) of Thy hands.

פֵּרַ֣שְׂתִּי SDBH I stretch out יָדַ֣י SDBH my hands אֵלֶ֑יךָ to You נַפְשִׁ֓י׀ SDBH my soul כְּאֶֽרֶץ־ SDBH like a parched land עֲיֵפָ֖ה SDBH thirsts לְךָ֣ for You סֶֽלָה׃ SDBH Selah

I stretch forth my hands unto Thee; my nefesh thirsteth after Thee, like an eretz ayefah (a parched, thirsty land). Selah.

מַ֘הֵ֤ר SDBH quickly עֲנֵ֨נִי׀ SDBH Answer me יְהוָה֮ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi כָּלְתָ֪ה SDBH fails ר֫וּחִ֥י SDBH my spirit אַל־ Do not תַּסְתֵּ֣ר SDBH hide פָּנֶ֣יךָ Your face מִמֶּ֑נִּי from me וְ֝נִמְשַׁ֗לְתִּי SDBH or I will be like those עִם־ . . . יֹ֥רְדֵי SDBH who descend בֽוֹר׃ SDBH to the Pit

Hear me speedily, Hashem; my ruach faileth; hide not Thy face from me, lest I be like those that go down into the bor (pit).

הַשְׁמִ֘יעֵ֤נִי SDBH Let me hear בַבֹּ֨קֶר׀ SDBH in the morning חַסְדֶּךָ֮ SDBH Your loving devotion כִּֽי־ for בְךָ֪ in You בָ֫טָ֥חְתִּי SDBH I have put my trust הוֹדִיעֵ֗נִי SDBH Teach me דֶּֽרֶךְ־ SDBH the way ז֥וּ SDBH - אֵלֵ֑ךְ SDBH I should walk כִּֽי־ for אֵ֝לֶיךָ to You נָשָׂ֥אתִי SDBH I lift up נַפְשִֽׁי׃ SDBH my soul

Cause me to hear Thy chesed in the boker; for in Thee do I trust; cause me to know the Derech wherein I should walk; for I lift up my nefesh unto Thee.

הַצִּילֵ֖נִי SDBH Deliver me מֵאֹיְבַ֥י׀ SDBH from my enemies יְהוָ֗ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֵלֶ֥יךָ I flee to You כִסִּֽתִי׃ SDBH for refuge

Save me, Hashem, from mine oyevim (enemies); I flee unto Thee to hide me.

לַמְּדֵ֤נִי׀ SDBH Teach me לַֽעֲשׂ֣וֹת SDBH to do רְצוֹנֶךָ֮ SDBH Your will כִּֽי־ for אַתָּ֪ה SDBH You אֱל֫וֹהָ֥י SDBH are my G-d רוּחֲךָ֥ SDBH Spirit טוֹבָ֑ה SDBH May Your good תַּ֝נְחֵ֗נִי SDBH lead me בְּאֶ֣רֶץ SDBH ground מִישֽׁוֹר׃ SDBH on level

Teach me to do Retzonecha (Thy will); for Thou art Elohai; may Thy Ruach Tov lead me on level ground.

לְמַֽעַן־ For the sake שִׁמְךָ֣ SDBH of Your name יְהוָ֣ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi תְּחַיֵּ֑נִי SDBH revive me בְּצִדְקָתְךָ֓׀ SDBH In Your righteousness תוֹצִ֖יא SDBH bring מִצָּרָ֣ה SDBH out of trouble נַפְשִֽׁי׃ SDBH my soul

Revive me, Hashem, l'ma'an (for the sake of) Thy Shem (Name); in Thy tzedakah bring my nefesh out of tzoros.

וּֽבְחַסְדְּךָ֮ SDBH And in Your loving devotion תַּצְמִ֪ית SDBH cut off אֹ֫יְבָ֥י SDBH my enemies וְֽ֭הַאֲבַדְתָּ SDBH Destroy כָּל־ all צֹרֲרֵ֣י SDBH who afflict נַפְשִׁ֑י SDBH me כִּ֝֗י for אֲנִ֣י SDBH I עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ SDBH am Your servant

And in Thy chesed silence mine enemies, and destroy all them that oppress my nefesh; for I am Thy eved.
