שִׁ֥יר SDBH A song הַֽמַּעֲל֑וֹת SDBH of ascents מִמַּעֲמַקִּ֖ים SDBH Out of the depths קְרָאתִ֣יךָ SDBH I cry to You יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

(Shir HaMa'alot) Out of the depths have I cried unto Thee, Hashem.

אֲדֹנָי֮ SDBH O Lord שִׁמְעָ֪ה SDBH hear בְק֫וֹלִ֥י SDBH my voice תִּהְיֶ֣ינָה be אָ֭זְנֶיךָ SDBH let Your ears קַשֻּׁב֑וֹת SDBH attentive לְ֝ק֗וֹל SDBH . . . תַּחֲנוּנָֽי׃ SDBH to my plea for mercy

Adonoi, hear my voice; let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my techinnot (supplications).

אִם־ SDBH If You עֲוֺנ֥וֹת SDBH of iniquities תִּשְׁמָר־ SDBH kept track יָ֑הּ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֲ֝דֹנָ֗י SDBH O Lord מִ֣י SDBH [then] who יַעֲמֹֽד׃ SDBH could stand

If Thou, Hashem, shouldest record iniquities, Adonoi, who could stand?

כִּֽי־ But עִמְּךָ֥ with You הַסְּלִיחָ֑ה SDBH there is forgiveness לְ֝מַ֗עַן so that תִּוָּרֵֽא׃ SDBH You may be feared

But there is selichah (forgiveness) with Thee; therefore, Thou art feared.

קִוִּ֣יתִי SDBH I wait for יְ֭הוָה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi קִוְּתָ֣ה SDBH does wait נַפְשִׁ֑י SDBH my soul וְֽלִדְבָר֥וֹ SDBH and in His word הוֹחָֽלְתִּי׃ SDBH I put my hope

I wait for Hashem, my nefesh doth wait, and in His Devar do I hope.

נַפְשִׁ֥י SDBH My soul לַֽאדֹנָ֑י SDBH [waits] for the Lord מִשֹּׁמְרִ֥ים SDBH more than watchmen [wait] לַ֝בֹּ֗קֶר SDBH for the morning שֹׁמְרִ֥ים SDBH more than watchmen [wait] לַבֹּֽקֶר׃ SDBH for the morning

My nefesh waiteth for Adonoi more than the shomrim that watch for the boker; I say, more than the shomrim that watch for the boker.

יַחֵ֥ל SDBH put your hope יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל SDBH O Israel אֶל־ in יְה֫וָה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi כִּֽי־ for עִם־ with יְהוָ֥ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi הַחֶ֑סֶד SDBH is loving devotion וְהַרְבֵּ֖ה in abundance עִמּ֣וֹ and with Him פְדֽוּת׃ SDBH is redemption

Let Yisroel hope in Hashem; for with Hashem there is chesed, and with Him is plenteous pedut (redemption).

וְ֭הוּא SDBH And He יִפְדֶּ֣ה SDBH will redeem אֶת־ SDBH - יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל SDBH Israel מִ֝כֹּ֗ל from all עֲוֺנֹתָֽיו׃ SDBH iniquity

And He shall redeem Yisroel from all his iniquities.
