וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר SDBH spoke יְהוָ֛ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֶל־ to מֹשֶׁ֖ה SDBH Moses בְּעַֽרְבֹ֣ת SDBH on the plains מוֹאָ֑ב SDBH of Moab עַל־ by יַרְדֵּ֥ן SDBH the Jordan יְרֵח֖וֹ SDBH across from Jericho לֵאמֹֽר׃ SDBH . . .

And Hashem spoke unto Moshe in the plains of Moav by Yarden near Yericho, saying,

צַו֮ SDBH Command אֶת־ SDBH - בְּנֵ֣י SDBH the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ SDBH . . . וְנָתְנ֣וּ to give לַלְוִיִּ֗ם SDBH for the Levites מִֽנַּחֲלַ֛ת SDBH from the inheritance אֲחֻזָּתָ֖ם SDBH they will possess עָרִ֣ים SDBH cities לָשָׁ֑בֶת SDBH to live in וּמִגְרָ֗שׁ SDBH and pasturelands לֶֽעָרִים֙ SDBH the cities סְבִיבֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם around תִּתְּנ֖וּ . . . לַלְוִיִּֽם׃ SDBH . . .

Command the Bnei Yisroel, that they give unto the Levi'im from the nachalah of their achuzzah towns to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levi'im open pasturelands around the towns.

וְהָי֧וּ will be הֶֽעָרִ֛ים SDBH The cities לָהֶ֖ם for them לָשָׁ֑בֶת SDBH to live in וּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶ֗ם SDBH and the pasturelands יִהְי֤וּ will be לִבְהֶמְתָּם֙ SDBH for their herds וְלִרְכֻשָׁ֔ם SDBH their flocks וּלְכֹ֖ל and all חַיָּתָֽם׃ SDBH their other livestock

And the towns shall they have to dwell in; and the open pasturelands of them shall be for their behemah, and for their livestock, and for all their animals.

וּמִגְרְשֵׁי֙ SDBH The pasturelands הֶֽעָרִ֔ים SDBH around the cities אֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH - תִּתְּנ֖וּ you are to give לַלְוִיִּ֑ם SDBH the Levites מִקִּ֤יר SDBH from the wall הָעִיר֙ SDBH - וָח֔וּצָה SDBH [will extend] אֶ֥לֶף SDBH a thousand אַמָּ֖ה SDBH cubits סָבִֽיב׃ on every side

And the open pasturelands of the towns, which ye shall give unto the Levi'im, shall reach from the wall of the Ir and outward a thousand cubits all around.

וּמַדֹּתֶ֞ם SDBH You are also to measure מִח֣וּץ SDBH outside לָעִ֗יר SDBH the city אֶת־ SDBH - פְּאַת־ SDBH - קֵ֣דְמָה SDBH on the east אַלְפַּ֪יִם SDBH two thousand בָּֽאַמָּ֟ה SDBH cubits וְאֶת־ SDBH - פְּאַת־ SDBH - נֶגֶב֩ SDBH on the south אַלְפַּ֨יִם SDBH two thousand בָּאַמָּ֜ה SDBH - וְאֶת־ SDBH פְּאַת־ SDBH - יָ֣ם׀ SDBH on the west אַלְפַּ֣יִם SDBH two thousand בָּֽאַמָּ֗ה SDBH - וְאֵ֨ת SDBH פְּאַ֥ת SDBH - צָפ֛וֹן SDBH on the north אַלְפַּ֥יִם SDBH [and] two thousand בָּאַמָּ֖ה SDBH - וְהָעִ֣יר SDBH with the city בַּתָּ֑וֶךְ SDBH in the center זֶ֚ה SDBH These areas יִהְיֶ֣ה will serve לָהֶ֔ם מִגְרְשֵׁ֖י SDBH as larger pasturelands הֶעָרִֽים׃ SDBH for the cities

And ye shall measure from outside the Ir on the east side 2000 cubits, and on the south side 2000 cubits, and on the west side 2000 cubits, and on the north side 2000 cubits; and the Ir shall be in the midst; this shall be to them the open pasturelands of the towns.

וְאֵ֣ת SDBH - הֶֽעָרִ֗ים SDBH of the cities אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH - תִּתְּנוּ֙ you give לַלְוִיִּ֔ם SDBH the Levites אֵ֚ת SDBH - שֵׁשׁ־ SDBH Six עָרֵ֣י SDBH as cities הַמִּקְלָ֔ט SDBH of refuge אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH - תִּתְּנ֔וּ are to be appointed לָנֻ֥ס SDBH may flee שָׁ֖מָּה SDBH - הָרֹצֵ֑חַ SDBH to which a manslayer וַעֲלֵיהֶ֣ם In addition to these תִּתְּנ֔וּ give [the Levites] אַרְבָּעִ֥ים SDBH forty-two וּשְׁתַּ֖יִם SDBH . . . עִֽיר׃ SDBH other cities

And among the towns which ye shall give unto the Levi'im there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the rotze'ach, that he may flee to there; and to them ye shall add 42 ir.

7

כָּל־ The total הֶעָרִ֗ים SDBH number of cities אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH - תִּתְּנוּ֙ you give לַלְוִיִּ֔ם SDBH the Levites אַרְבָּעִ֥ים SDBH [will be] forty-eight וּשְׁמֹנֶ֖ה SDBH . . . עִ֑יר SDBH . . . אֶתְהֶ֖ן SDBH with their corresponding וְאֶת־ SDBH - מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶֽן׃ SDBH pasturelands

So all the arim (towns) which ye shall give to the Levi'im shall be 48 ir: them shall ye give with their migrashim (open pasturelands).

8

וְהֶֽעָרִ֗ים SDBH The cities אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH that תִּתְּנוּ֙ you apportion מֵאֲחֻזַּ֣ת SDBH from the territory בְּנֵי־ SDBH vvv יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל SDBH of the Israelites מֵאֵ֤ת SDBH . . . הָרַב֙ SDBH a larger [tribe] תַּרְבּ֔וּ more from וּמֵאֵ֥ת SDBH . . . הַמְעַ֖ט SDBH a smaller one תַּמְעִ֑יטוּ SDBH and less from אִ֗ישׁ SDBH of each [tribe] כְּפִ֤י SDBH in proportion to נַחֲלָתוֹ֙ SDBH the inheritance אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH - יִנְחָ֔לוּ SDBH - יִתֵּ֥ן should be given מֵעָרָ֖יו SDBH - לַלְוִיִּֽם׃פ SDBH to the Levites

And the arim (towns) which ye shall give shall be of the achuzzat Bnei Yisroel; from them that have many ye shall give more; but from them that have few ye shall give less; every one shall give of his arim unto the Levi'im according to his nachalah which he inheriteth.

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר SDBH said יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֶל־ to מֹשֶׁ֥ה SDBH Moses לֵּאמֹֽר׃ SDBH . . .

And Hashem spoke unto Moshe, saying,

10

דַּבֵּר֙ SDBH Speak אֶל־ to בְּנֵ֣י SDBH the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל SDBH . . . וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ SDBH and tell them אֲלֵהֶ֑ם . . . כִּ֥י When אַתֶּ֛ם SDBH you עֹבְרִ֥ים SDBH cross אֶת־ SDBH - הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן SDBH the Jordan אַ֥רְצָה SDBH into the land כְּנָֽעַן׃ SDBH of Canaan

Speak unto the Bnei Yisroel, and say unto them, When ye be come over the Yarden into Eretz Kena'an,

11

וְהִקְרִיתֶ֤ם SDBH designate לָכֶם֙ עָרִ֔ים SDBH cities עָרֵ֥י SDBH cities מִקְלָ֖ט SDBH of refuge תִּהְיֶ֣ינָה to serve as לָכֶ֑ם your וְנָ֥ס SDBH may flee שָׁ֙מָּה֙ SDBH there רֹצֵ֔חַ SDBH so that a person מַכֵּה־ SDBH who kills נֶ֖פֶשׁ SDBH someone בִּשְׁגָגָֽה׃ SDBH unintentionally

Then ye shall appoint you arim to be arei miklat (cities of refuge) for you; that the rotze'ach may flee to there, which killeth any nefesh bishegagah (unintentionally, accidently).

12

וְהָי֨וּ You are to have לָכֶ֧ם הֶעָרִ֛ים SDBH these cities לְמִקְלָ֖ט SDBH as a refuge מִגֹּאֵ֑ל SDBH from the avenger וְלֹ֤א SDBH will not יָמוּת֙ SDBH die הָרֹצֵ֔חַ SDBH so that the manslayer עַד־ SDBH until עָמְד֛וֹ SDBH he stands לִפְנֵ֥י before הָעֵדָ֖ה SDBH the assembly לַמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃ SDBH trial

And they shall be unto you arei miklat (cities of refuge) from the Go'el; that the rotze'ach die not, until he stand before the Edah in mishpat.

13

וְהֶעָרִ֖ים SDBH The cities אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH - תִּתֵּ֑נוּ you select שֵׁשׁ־ SDBH six עָרֵ֥י SDBH cities מִקְלָ֖ט SDBH of refuge תִּהְיֶ֥ינָה will be לָכֶֽם׃ your

And of these arim which ye shall give there shall be shesh arei miklat.

14

אֵ֣ת׀ SDBH - שְׁלֹ֣שׁ SDBH Select three הֶעָרִ֗ים SDBH cities תִּתְּנוּ֙ . . . מֵעֵ֣בֶר SDBH across לַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן SDBH the Jordan וְאֵת֙ SDBH - שְׁלֹ֣שׁ SDBH and three הֶֽעָרִ֔ים SDBH - תִּתְּנ֖וּ - בְּאֶ֣רֶץ SDBH in the land כְּנָ֑עַן SDBH of Canaan עָרֵ֥י SDBH cities מִקְלָ֖ט SDBH of refuge תִּהְיֶֽינָה׃ as

Ye shall give shlosh he'arim on this side of the Yarden, and shlosh he'arim shall ye give in Eretz Kena'an, which shall be arei miklat.

15

לִבְנֵ֣י SDBH for the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל SDBH . . . וְלַגֵּ֤ר SDBH and for the foreigner וְלַתּוֹשָׁב֙ SDBH or stranger בְּתוֹכָ֔ם SDBH among them תִּהְיֶ֛ינָה will serve שֵׁשׁ־ SDBH six הֶעָרִ֥ים SDBH cities הָאֵ֖לֶּה SDBH These לְמִקְלָ֑ט SDBH as a refuge לָנ֣וּס SDBH may flee שָׁ֔מָּה SDBH there כָּל־ so that anyone מַכֵּה־ SDBH who kills נֶ֖פֶשׁ SDBH a person בִּשְׁגָגָֽה׃ SDBH unintentionally

These shesh he'arim shall be for miklat (refuge), both for the Bnei Yisroel, and for the ger, and for the toshav (sojourner) among them; that every one that killeth any nefesh bishegagah (unintentionally, accidently) may flee there.

16

וְאִם־ SDBH If, however בִּכְלִ֨י SDBH object בַרְזֶ֧ל׀ SDBH a person with an iron הִכָּ֛הוּ SDBH anyone strikes וַיָּמֹ֖ת SDBH and kills him רֹצֵ֣חַֽ SDBH is a murderer ה֑וּא SDBH he מ֥וֹת SDBH must surely be put to death יוּמַ֖ת SDBH . . . הָרֹצֵֽחַ׃ SDBH the murderer

And if he strike him with keli barzel, so that he die, he is a rotze'ach; the rotze'ach shall surely be put to death.

17

וְאִ֡ם SDBH Or if בְּאֶ֣בֶן SDBH a stone יָד֩ SDBH anyone has in his hand אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH - יָמ֨וּת SDBH of deadly size בָּ֥הּ הִכָּ֛הוּ SDBH and he strikes וַיָּמֹ֖ת SDBH and kills another רֹצֵ֣חַֽ SDBH he is a murderer ה֑וּא SDBH - מ֥וֹת SDBH must surely be put to death יוּמַ֖ת SDBH . . . הָרֹצֵֽחַ׃ SDBH the murderer

And if he strike him with an even (stone) in his yad that could kill, and he die, he is a rotze'ach; the rotze'ach shall surely be put to death.

18

א֡וֹ SDBH If בִּכְלִ֣י SDBH object עֵֽץ־ SDBH of wood יָד֩ SDBH anyone has in his hand אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH - יָמ֨וּת SDBH a deadly בּ֥וֹ הִכָּ֛הוּ SDBH and he strikes וַיָּמֹ֖ת SDBH and kills another רֹצֵ֣חַֽ SDBH he is a murderer ה֑וּא SDBH . . . מ֥וֹת SDBH must surely be put to death יוּמַ֖ת SDBH . . . הָרֹצֵֽחַ׃ SDBH the murderer

Or if he strike him with a keli in his hand that could kill, and he die, he is a rotze'ach; the rotze'ach shall surely be put to death.

19

גֹּאֵ֣ל SDBH The avenger הַדָּ֔ם SDBH of blood ה֥וּא SDBH - יָמִ֖ית SDBH to death אֶת־ SDBH - הָרֹצֵ֑חַ SDBH {is to put} the murderer בְּפִגְעוֹ־ SDBH when he finds ב֖וֹ him ה֥וּא SDBH he יְמִיתֶֽנּוּ׃ SDBH is to kill him

The Go'el HaDahm himself shall slay the rotze'ach; when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.

20

וְאִם־ SDBH Likewise, if בְּשִׂנְאָ֖ה SDBH anyone maliciously יֶהְדָּפֶ֑נּוּ SDBH pushes another אֽוֹ־ SDBH or הִשְׁלִ֥יךְ SDBH throws an object עָלָ֛יו at him בִּצְדִיָּ֖ה SDBH intentionally וַיָּמֹֽת׃ SDBH and kills him

And if he push him out of sin'ah (hatred), or hurl upon him bitzediyyah (with intention, by laying in wait) that he die;

21

א֣וֹ SDBH or בְאֵיבָ֞ה SDBH if in hostility הִכָּ֤הוּ SDBH he strikes him בְיָדוֹ֙ SDBH with his hand וַיָּמֹ֔ת SDBH and he dies מֽוֹת־ SDBH must surely be put to death יוּמַ֥ת SDBH . . . הַמַּכֶּ֖ה SDBH the one who struck him רֹצֵ֣חַֽ SDBH is a murderer ה֑וּא SDBH he גֹּאֵ֣ל SDBH When the avenger הַדָּ֗ם SDBH of blood יָמִ֛ית SDBH he is to kill אֶת־ SDBH him הָרֹצֵ֖חַ SDBH the murderer בְּפִגְעוֹ־ SDBH finds בֽוֹ׃

Or in eivah (enmity) strike him with his yad, that he die; he that struck him shall surely be put to death; for he is a rotze'ach; the Go'el HaDahm shall slay the rotze'ach, when he meeteth him.

22

וְאִם־ SDBH But if anyone בְּפֶ֥תַע SDBH suddenly בְּלֹא־ SDBH without אֵיבָ֖ה SDBH hostility הֲדָפ֑וֹ SDBH pushes a person אוֹ־ SDBH or הִשְׁלִ֥יךְ SDBH throws עָלָ֛יו at him כָּל־ an כְּלִ֖י SDBH object בְּלֹ֥א SDBH unintentionally צְדִיָּֽה׃ SDBH . . .

But if he push him suddenly without eivah (enmity), or have thrown upon him any keli with no tzediyyah (intention, laying in wait),

23

א֣וֹ SDBH or בְכָל־ . . . אֶ֜בֶן SDBH a heavy stone אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH יָמ֥וּת SDBH בָּהּ֙ בְּלֹ֣א SDBH without רְא֔וֹת SDBH looking וַיַּפֵּ֥ל SDBH drops עָלָ֖יו . . . וַיָּמֹ֑ת SDBH that kills him וְהוּא֙ SDBH but he לֹא־ SDBH was not אוֹיֵ֣ב SDBH an enemy ל֔וֹ וְלֹ֥א SDBH and did not מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ SDBH intend רָעָתֽוֹ׃ SDBH to harm him

Or with any even (stone), that could kill, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his oyev, neither sought his ra'ah,

24

וְשָֽׁפְטוּ֙ SDBH must judge הָֽעֵדָ֔ה SDBH then the congregation בֵּ֚ין SDBH between הַמַּכֶּ֔ה SDBH the slayer וּבֵ֖ין SDBH . . . גֹּאֵ֣ל SDBH and the avenger הַדָּ֑ם SDBH of blood עַ֥ל according to הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֖ים SDBH ordinances הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ SDBH these

Then the Edah shall judge between the striker and the Go'el HaDahm according to these mishpatim;

25

וְהִצִּ֨ילוּ SDBH is to protect הָעֵדָ֜ה SDBH The assembly אֶת־ SDBH - הָרֹצֵ֗חַ SDBH the manslayer מִיַּד֮ SDBH from the hand גֹּאֵ֣ל SDBH of the avenger הַדָּם֒ SDBH of blood וְהֵשִׁ֤יבוּ SDBH will return אֹתוֹ֙ SDBH him הָֽעֵדָ֔ה SDBH Then the assembly אֶל־ to עִ֥יר SDBH the city מִקְלָט֖וֹ SDBH of refuge אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH to which נָ֣ס SDBH he fled שָׁ֑מָּה SDBH . . . וְיָ֣שַׁב SDBH and he must live בָּ֗הּ there עַד־ SDBH until מוֹת֙ SDBH the death הַכֹּהֵ֣ן SDBH priest הַגָּדֹ֔ל SDBH of the high אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH who מָשַׁ֥ח SDBH was anointed אֹת֖וֹ SDBH - בְּשֶׁ֥מֶן SDBH oil הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ SDBH with the holy

And the Edah shall deliver the rotze'ach out of the yad Goel HaDahm, and the Edah shall restore him to his ir miklat, to which he fled; and he shall abide in it unto the mot HaKohen HaGadol which was mashach (anointed) with the shemen hakodesh [T.N. NOTICE THERE IS FREEDOM AT THE DEATH OF THE HIGH PRIEST JUST AS THERE IS PEACE AT THE DEATH OF THE MOSHIACH KOHEN; CF ISA 53:5-9; PS 110:4).

וְאִם־ SDBH But if יָצֹ֥א SDBH ever goes outside יֵצֵ֖א SDBH . . . הָרֹצֵ֑חַ SDBH the manslayer אֶת־ SDBH - גְּבוּל֙ SDBH the limits עִ֣יר SDBH of the city מִקְלָט֔וֹ SDBH of refuge אֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH - יָנ֖וּס SDBH to which he fled שָֽׁמָּה׃ SDBH . . .

But if the rotze'ach shall at any time come outside the border of the ir miklat to which he fled;

27

וּמָצָ֤א SDBH finds אֹתוֹ֙ SDBH him גֹּאֵ֣ל SDBH and the avenger הַדָּ֔ם SDBH of blood מִח֕וּץ SDBH outside לִגְב֖וּל SDBH . . . עִ֣יר SDBH of his city מִקְלָט֑וֹ SDBH of refuge וְרָצַ֞ח SDBH and kills him גֹּאֵ֤ל SDBH [then] the avenger הַדָּם֙ SDBH be guilty of bloodshed אֶת־ SDBH - הָ֣רֹצֵ֔חַ SDBH - אֵ֥ין SDBH will not ל֖וֹ דָּֽם׃ SDBH -

And the Go'el HaDahm find him outside the geval (borders, city limit) of his ir miklat, and the Go'el HaDahm kill the rotze'ach, he shall not be guilty of dahm,

28

כִּ֣י because בְעִ֤יר SDBH in his city מִקְלָטוֹ֙ SDBH of refuge יֵשֵׁ֔ב SDBH [the manslayer] must remain עַד־ SDBH until מ֖וֹת SDBH the death הַכֹּהֵ֣ן SDBH priest הַגָּדֹ֑ל SDBH of the high וְאַחֲרֵ֥י SDBH Only after מוֹת֙ SDBH the death הַכֹּהֵ֣ן SDBH priest הַגָּדֹ֔ל SDBH of the high יָשׁוּב֙ SDBH return הָרֹצֵ֔חַ SDBH may [he] אֶל־ to אֶ֖רֶץ SDBH the land אֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃ SDBH he owns

Because he should have remained in his ir miklat until the mot HaKohen HaGadol; but after the mot HaKohen HaGadol the rotze'ach shall return into his eretz achuzzat.

29

וְהָי֨וּ will be אֵ֧לֶּה SDBH This לָכֶ֛ם for you לְחֻקַּ֥ת SDBH a statutory מִשְׁפָּ֖ט SDBH ordinance לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶ֑ם SDBH for the generations to come בְּכֹ֖ל wherever מוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ SDBH you live

So these things shall be for a chukkat mishpat unto you throughout your dorot in all your dwellings.

30

כָּל־ If anyone מַ֨כֵּה־ SDBH kills נֶ֔פֶשׁ SDBH a person לְפִ֣י SDBH on the testimony עֵדִ֔ים SDBH of the witnesses יִרְצַ֖ח SDBH the murderer אֶת־ SDBH - הָרֹצֵ֑חַ SDBH is to be put to death וְעֵ֣ד SDBH witness אֶחָ֔ד SDBH of a lone לֹא־ SDBH But no יַעֲנֶ֥ה SDBH based on the testimony בְנֶ֖פֶשׁ SDBH one לָמֽוּת׃ SDBH is to be put to death

Whosoever killeth any nefesh, the rotze'ach shall be put to death by the mouth of edim (witnesses); but ed echad (one witness) shall not testify against any nefesh to cause him to die.

31

וְלֹֽא־ SDBH You are not תִקְח֥וּ SDBH to accept כֹ֙פֶר֙ SDBH a ransom לְנֶ֣פֶשׁ SDBH for the life רֹצֵ֔חַ SDBH of a murderer אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH who ה֥וּא SDBH . . . רָשָׁ֖ע SDBH deserves לָמ֑וּת SDBH to die כִּי־ . . . מ֖וֹת SDBH he must surely be put to death יוּמָֽת׃ SDBH . . .

Moreover ye shall take no kofer (ransom payment, satisfaction) for the nefesh of a rotze'ach, which is guilty of death; but he shall be surely put to death.

32

וְלֹא־ SDBH Nor תִקְח֣וּ SDBH should you accept כֹ֔פֶר SDBH a ransom לָנ֖וּס SDBH for the person who flees אֶל־ to עִ֣יר SDBH a city מִקְלָט֑וֹ SDBH of refuge לָשׁוּב֙ SDBH and allow him to return לָשֶׁ֣בֶת SDBH and live בָּאָ֔רֶץ SDBH on his own land עַד־ SDBH before מ֖וֹת SDBH the death הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ SDBH of the high priest

And ye shall take no kofer for him that is fled to his ir miklat that he should come again to dwell in HaAretz until the mot HaKohen.

וְלֹֽא־ SDBH Do not תַחֲנִ֣יפוּ SDBH pollute אֶת־ SDBH - הָאָ֗רֶץ SDBH the land אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH where אַתֶּם֙ SDBH you בָּ֔הּ live כִּ֣י for הַדָּ֔ם SDBH bloodshed ה֥וּא SDBH . . . יַחֲנִ֖יף SDBH pollutes אֶת־ SDBH - הָאָ֑רֶץ SDBH the land וְלָאָ֣רֶץ SDBH for the land לֹֽא־ SDBH and no יְכֻפַּ֗ר SDBH atonement can be made לַדָּם֙ SDBH on which the blood אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH - שֻׁפַּךְ־ SDBH is shed בָּ֔הּ כִּי־ except אִ֖ם SDBH . . . בְּדַ֥ם SDBH by the blood שֹׁפְכֽוֹ׃ SDBH of the one who shed it

So ye shall not pollute HaAretz wherein ye are; for dahm pollutes HaAretz; and kapporah cannot be made for HaAretz for the shefach dahm therein, except by the dahm of him that committed shefach dahm (shedding of blood).

וְלֹ֧א SDBH Do not תְטַמֵּ֣א SDBH defile אֶת־ SDBH - הָאָ֗רֶץ SDBH the land אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH where אַתֶּם֙ SDBH you יֹשְׁבִ֣ים SDBH live בָּ֔הּ אֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH and where אֲנִ֖י SDBH I שֹׁכֵ֣ן SDBH dwell בְּתוֹכָ֑הּ SDBH כִּ֚י For אֲנִ֣י SDBH I יְהוָ֔ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi שֹׁכֵ֕ן SDBH dwell בְּת֖וֹךְ SDBH among בְּנֵ֥י SDBH the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ SDBH . . .

Therefore, make not tameh HaAretz which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell; for I Hashem dwell among the Bnei Yisroel.
