Vayikra 22 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר SDBH said יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֶל־ to מֹשֶׁ֥ה SDBH Moses לֵּאמֹֽר׃ SDBH . . .

And Hashem spoke unto Moshe, saying,

דַּבֵּ֨ר SDBH Tell אֶֽל־ . . . אַהֲרֹ֜ן SDBH Aaron וְאֶל־ . . . בָּנָ֗יו SDBH and his sons וְיִנָּֽזְרוּ֙ SDBH to treat with respect מִקָּדְשֵׁ֣י SDBH the sacred offerings בְנֵֽי־ SDBH that the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל SDBH . . . וְלֹ֥א SDBH so that they do not יְחַלְּל֖וּ SDBH profane אֶת־ SDBH - שֵׁ֣ם SDBH name קָדְשִׁ֑י SDBH My holy אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH הֵ֧ם SDBH - מַקְדִּשִׁ֛ים SDBH have consecrated to Me לִ֖י אֲנִ֥י SDBH I יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

Speak unto Aharon and to his Banim, that they separate themselves from the kodashim of the Bnei Yisroel which they set apart as kodesh unto Me, so that they will not commit Chillul ha-shem of Shem Kodshi: I am Hashem.

אֱמֹ֣ר SDBH Tell אֲלֵהֶ֗ם them [that] לְדֹרֹ֨תֵיכֶ֜ם SDBH for the generations to come כָּל־ if any אִ֣ישׁ׀ SDBH - אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH יִקְרַ֣ב SDBH approaches מִכָּל־ - זַרְעֲכֶ֗ם SDBH of [their] descendants אֶל־ . . . הַקֳּדָשִׁים֙ SDBH the sacred offerings אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH that יַקְדִּ֤ישׁוּ SDBH consecrate בְנֵֽי־ SDBH the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ SDBH . . . לַֽיהוָ֔ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וְטֻמְאָת֖וֹ SDBH in a state of uncleanness עָלָ֑יו . . . וְנִכְרְתָ֞ה SDBH must be cut off הַנֶּ֧פֶשׁ SDBH person הַהִ֛וא SDBH that מִלְּפָנַ֖י from My presence אֲנִ֥י SDBH I יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your zera among your dorot, that goeth unto the kodashim, which the Bnei Yisroel treat as kodesh unto Hashem, having his tumah upon him, that nefesh shall be cut off from My presence: I am Hashem.

אִ֣ישׁ SDBH . . . אִ֞ישׁ SDBH . . . מִזֶּ֣רַע SDBH If a descendant אַהֲרֹ֗ן SDBH of Aaron וְה֤וּא SDBH . . . צָר֙וּעַ֙ SDBH has a skin disease א֣וֹ SDBH or זָ֔ב SDBH a discharge בַּקֳּדָשִׁים֙ SDBH the sacred offerings לֹ֣א SDBH . . . יֹאכַ֔ל SDBH he may not eat עַ֖ד SDBH until אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH - יִטְהָ֑ר SDBH he is clean וְהַנֹּגֵ֙עַ֙ SDBH Whoever touches בְּכָל־ anything טְמֵא־ SDBH defiled נֶ֔פֶשׁ SDBH by a corpse א֣וֹ SDBH or אִ֔ישׁ SDBH by a man אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH who תֵּצֵ֥א SDBH has מִמֶּ֖נּוּ שִׁכְבַת־ SDBH an emission זָֽרַע׃ SDBH of semen

Whatsoever man of the zera Aharon is a metzora, or hath a discharge; he shall not eat of the kodashim, until he be tahor. And whosoever toucheth any thing that is tamei by the dead, or a man whose shikhvat zera goeth from him;

אוֹ־ SDBH or אִישׁ֙ SDBH whoever אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH - יִגַּ֔ע SDBH touches בְּכָל־ a שֶׁ֖רֶץ SDBH crawling creature אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH - יִטְמָא־ SDBH - ל֑וֹ א֤וֹ SDBH or בְאָדָם֙ SDBH a person אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH that יִטְמָא־ SDBH makes him unclean ל֔וֹ לְכֹ֖ל whatever טֻמְאָתֽוֹ׃ SDBH the uncleanness may be

Or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made tamei, or a man who makes him tamei, whatsoever tumah he hath;

נֶ֚פֶשׁ SDBH the man אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH who תִּגַּע־ SDBH touches בּ֔וֹ any of these וְטָמְאָ֖ה SDBH will remain unclean עַד־ SDBH until הָעָ֑רֶב SDBH evening וְלֹ֤א SDBH He must not יֹאכַל֙ SDBH eat מִן־ from הַקֳּדָשִׁ֔ים SDBH the sacred offerings כִּ֛י unless אִם־ SDBH . . . רָחַ֥ץ SDBH he has bathed בְּשָׂר֖וֹ SDBH himself בַּמָּֽיִם׃ SDBH with water

The nefesh which hath touched any such shall be tamei until erev, and shall not eat of the kodashim, unless he immerse his basar with mayim.

7

וּבָ֥א SDBH has set הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ SDBH When the sun וְטָהֵ֑ר SDBH he will become clean וְאַחַר֙ SDBH and then יֹאכַ֣ל SDBH he may eat מִן־ from הַקֳּדָשִׁ֔ים SDBH the sacred offerings כִּ֥י for לַחְמ֖וֹ SDBH are his food הֽוּא׃ SDBH they

And when the shemesh is down, he shall be tahor, and shall afterward eat of the kodashim; because it is his lechem.

8

נְבֵלָ֧ה SDBH anything found dead וּטְרֵפָ֛ה SDBH or torn by wild animals לֹ֥א SDBH He must not יֹאכַ֖ל SDBH eat לְטָמְאָה־ SDBH which would make him unclean בָ֑הּ אֲנִ֖י SDBH I יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

Nevelah (that which dieth of itself), or tereifah (what is torn by beasts), he shall not eat to make himself tamei therewith; I am Hashem.

9

וְשָׁמְר֣וּ SDBH [The priests] must keep אֶת־ SDBH - מִשְׁמַרְתִּ֗י SDBH My charge וְלֹֽא־ SDBH lest יִשְׂא֤וּ SDBH they bear עָלָיו֙ - חֵ֔טְא SDBH the guilt וּמֵ֥תוּ SDBH and die ב֖וֹ כִּ֣י because יְחַלְּלֻ֑הוּ SDBH they profane it אֲנִ֥י SDBH I יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi מְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃ SDBH who sanctifies them

They shall therefore be shomer over My charge, lest they bear chet for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I Hashem do set them apart as kodesh.

10

וְכָל־ one זָ֖ר SDBH outside [a priest’s family] לֹא־ SDBH No יֹ֣אכַל SDBH may eat קֹ֑דֶשׁ SDBH the sacred offering תּוֹשַׁ֥ב SDBH may the guest כֹּהֵ֛ן SDBH of a priest וְשָׂכִ֖יר SDBH or his hired hand לֹא־ SDBH nor יֹ֥אכַל SDBH eat קֹֽדֶשׁ׃ SDBH [it]

There shall no zar eat of the kodesh: a toshav (guest) of the kohen, or a sakhir (hired servant), shall not eat of the kodesh.

11

וְכֹהֵ֗ן SDBH a priest כִּֽי־ But if יִקְנֶ֥ה SDBH buys נֶ֙פֶשׁ֙ SDBH a slave קִנְיַ֣ן SDBH with כַּסְפּ֔וֹ SDBH his own money ה֖וּא SDBH that [slave] יֹ֣אכַל SDBH may eat בּ֑וֹ וִילִ֣יד SDBH is born בֵּית֔וֹ SDBH in his household הֵ֖ם SDBH or if [a slave] יֹאכְל֥וּ SDBH - בְלַחְמֽוֹ׃ SDBH his food

But if the kohen buy any nefesh with his kesef, he shall eat of it, or he that is born in his bais; they shall eat of his lechem.

12

וּבַת־ SDBH daughter כֹּהֵ֔ן SDBH the priest’s כִּ֥י If תִהְיֶ֖ה is married לְאִ֣ישׁ SDBH to a man זָ֑ר SDBH other [than a priest] הִ֕וא SDBH she בִּתְרוּמַ֥ת SDBH contributions הַקֳּדָשִׁ֖ים SDBH of the sacred לֹ֥א SDBH is not תֹאכֵֽל׃ SDBH to eat

If the bat kohen also be married unto a man who is a zar, she may not eat of a terumah (offering) of the kodashim.

13

וּבַת־ SDBH daughter כֹּהֵן֩ SDBH a priest’s כִּ֨י But if תִהְיֶ֜ה becomes אַלְמָנָ֣ה SDBH widowed וּגְרוּשָׁ֗ה SDBH or divorced וְזֶרַע֮ SDBH children אֵ֣ין SDBH with no לָהּ֒ - וְשָׁבָ֞ה SDBH and returns אֶל־ to בֵּ֤ית SDBH house אָבִ֙יהָ֙ SDBH her father’s כִּנְעוּרֶ֔יהָ SDBH as in her youth מִלֶּ֥חֶם SDBH food אָבִ֖יהָ SDBH her father’s תֹּאכֵ֑ל SDBH she may share וְכָל־ But no זָ֖ר SDBH outsider לֹא־ SDBH . . . יֹ֥אכַל SDBH may share בּֽוֹ׃ס it

But if the bat kohen becomes an almanah, or gerusha, and have no zera, and is returned unto bais aviha (house of her father), as in her youth, she shall eat of the lechem aviha; but there shall no zar eat thereof.

14

וְאִ֕ישׁ SDBH anyone כִּֽי־ If יֹאכַ֥ל SDBH eats קֹ֖דֶשׁ SDBH a sacred offering בִּשְׁגָגָ֑ה SDBH in error וְיָסַ֤ף SDBH he must add חֲמִֽשִׁיתוֹ֙ SDBH a fifth עָלָ֔יו to וְנָתַ֥ן its value and give לַכֹּהֵ֖ן SDBH to the priest אֶת־ SDBH - הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ SDBH the sacred offering

And if an ish eat of the kodesh bishgagah (unintentionally), then he shall add as restitution the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the kohen with the kodesh.

15

וְלֹ֣א SDBH The priests must not יְחַלְּל֔וּ SDBH profane אֶת־ SDBH - קָדְשֵׁ֖י SDBH the sacred offerings בְּנֵ֣י SDBH [that] the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל SDBH . . . אֵ֥ת SDBH - אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH - יָרִ֖ימוּ SDBH present לַיהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

And they shall not profane the kodshei Bnei Yisroel, which they offer unto Hashem;

16

וְהִשִּׂ֤יאוּ SDBH and thus to bear אוֹתָם֙ SDBH - עֲוֺ֣ן SDBH the punishment אַשְׁמָ֔ה SDBH for guilt בְּאָכְלָ֖ם SDBH by allowing the people to eat אֶת־ SDBH - קָדְשֵׁיהֶ֑ם SDBH the sacred offerings כִּ֛י For אֲנִ֥י SDBH I יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi מְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃פ SDBH who sanctifies them

And they will cause themselves to bear the avon of guilt when they eat their kodashim; for I Hashem do set them apart as kodesh.

17

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר SDBH said יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֶל־ to מֹשֶׁ֥ה SDBH Moses לֵּאמֹֽר׃ SDBH . . .

And Hashem spoke unto Moshe, saying,

18

דַּבֵּ֨ר SDBH Speak אֶֽל־ to אַהֲרֹ֜ן SDBH Aaron וְאֶל־ . . . בָּנָ֗יו SDBH and his sons וְאֶל֙ . . . כָּל־ and all בְּנֵ֣י SDBH the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל SDBH . . . וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ SDBH and tell אֲלֵהֶ֑ם them אִ֣ישׁ SDBH Any man אִישׁ֩ SDBH . . . מִבֵּ֨ית SDBH the house יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל SDBH of Israel וּמִן־ of הַגֵּ֣ר SDBH or any foreign resident בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל SDBH - אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH who יַקְרִ֤יב SDBH presents קָרְבָּנוֹ֙ SDBH a gift לְכָל־ . . . נִדְרֵיהֶם֙ SDBH whether to fulfill a vow וּלְכָל־ or as a נִדְבוֹתָ֔ם SDBH freewill offering אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH - יַקְרִ֥יבוּ SDBH לַיהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi לְעֹלָֽה׃ SDBH for a burnt offering

Speak unto Aharon, and to his Banim, and unto kol Bnei Yisroel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the Bais Yisroel, or of the Ger B'Yisroel, that will offer his korban for any of his nederim, and for all his nedavot, which they will offer unto Hashem for an olah,

19

לִֽרְצֹנְכֶ֑ם SDBH in order for it to be accepted on your behalf תָּמִ֣ים SDBH must offer an unblemished זָכָ֔ר SDBH male בַּבָּקָ֕ר SDBH from the cattle בַּכְּשָׂבִ֖ים SDBH sheep וּבָֽעִזִּֽים׃ SDBH or goats

That it may be accepted on your behalf, ye shall offer a zachar tamim (male without defect), of the cattle and of the sheep, or of the goats.

20

כֹּ֛ל anything אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH with בּ֥וֹ מ֖וּם SDBH a defect לֹ֣א SDBH You must not תַקְרִ֑יבוּ SDBH present כִּי־ because לֹ֥א SDBH it will not לְרָצ֖וֹן SDBH accepted יִהְיֶ֥ה be לָכֶֽם׃ on your behalf

But whatsoever hath a mum, that shall ye not offer, for it shall not be for you leratzon (acceptable [before Hashem]).

21

וְאִ֗ישׁ SDBH a man כִּֽי־ When יַקְרִ֤יב SDBH presents זֶֽבַח־ SDBH vvv שְׁלָמִים֙ SDBH a peace offering לַיהוָ֔ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi לְפַלֵּא־ SDBH to fulfill נֶ֙דֶר֙ SDBH a vow א֣וֹ SDBH or לִנְדָבָ֔ה SDBH as a freewill offering בַּבָּקָ֖ר SDBH from the herd א֣וֹ SDBH or בַצֹּ֑אן SDBH flock תָּמִ֤ים SDBH without blemish יִֽהְיֶה֙ it must be לְרָצ֔וֹן SDBH to be acceptable כָּל־ - מ֖וּם SDBH [or] defect לֹ֥א SDBH - יִהְיֶה־ בּֽוֹ׃

And whosoever offereth a zevach shelamim unto Hashem to fulfill his neder, or as a nedavah in cattle or sheep, it shall be tamim (perfect, without defect) to be accepted; there shall be no mum therein.

22

עַוֶּרֶת֩ SDBH that is blind א֨וֹ SDBH or שָׁב֜וּר SDBH injured אוֹ־ SDBH or חָר֣וּץ SDBH maimed אֽוֹ־ SDBH . . . יַבֶּ֗לֶת SDBH anything with a running sore א֤וֹ SDBH . . . גָרָב֙ SDBH a festering rash א֣וֹ SDBH . . . יַלֶּ֔פֶת SDBH or a scab לֹא־ SDBH You are not תַקְרִ֥יבוּ SDBH to present אֵ֖לֶּה SDBH [any animal] לַיהוָ֑ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וְאִשֶּׁ֗ה SDBH as a food offering לֹא־ SDBH you must not תִתְּנ֥וּ put מֵהֶ֛ם any of these עַל־ on הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ SDBH the altar לַיהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

Avveret (blind), or injured, or charutz (maimed), or having an abnormal growth, or dry skin eruption, or running sore, ye shall not offer these unto Hashem, nor make an offering by eish of them upon the Mizbe'ach unto Hashem.

23

וְשׁ֥וֹר SDBH an ox וָשֶׂ֖ה SDBH or sheep שָׂר֣וּעַ SDBH that has a deformed וְקָל֑וּט SDBH or stunted limb נְדָבָה֙ SDBH as a freewill offering תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה SDBH You may present אֹת֔וֹ SDBH - וּלְנֵ֖דֶר SDBH in fulfillment of a vow לֹ֥א SDBH but it is not יֵרָצֶֽה׃ SDBH acceptable

Either a bull or a seh that hath a limb too long or too short thou mayest offer for a nedavah; but for a neder it shall not be accepted.

24

וּמָע֤וּךְ SDBH [an animal whose testicles are] bruised וְכָתוּת֙ SDBH crushed וְנָת֣וּק SDBH torn וְכָר֔וּת SDBH or cut לֹ֥א SDBH You are not תַקְרִ֖יבוּ SDBH to present לַֽיהוָ֑ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וּֽבְאַרְצְכֶ֖ם SDBH in your land לֹ֥א SDBH you are not to תַעֲשֽׂוּ׃ SDBH sacrifice them

Ye shall not offer unto Hashem that which is bruised, or crushed, or torn, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your eretz.

25

וּמִיַּ֣ד SDBH - בֶּן־ SDBH a foreigner נֵכָ֗ר SDBH . . . לֹ֥א SDBH Neither you nor תַקְרִ֛יבוּ SDBH shall present אֶת־ SDBH - לֶ֥חֶם SDBH food אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם SDBH to your G-d מִכָּל־ from any אֵ֑לֶּה SDBH such [animal] כִּ֣י because מָשְׁחָתָ֤ם SDBH they are deformed בָּהֶם֙ מ֣וּם SDBH and flawed בָּ֔ם לֹ֥א SDBH They will not יֵרָצ֖וּ SDBH be accepted לָכֶֽם׃פ on your behalf

Neither from the hand of a ben nakhar shall ye offer the lechem Eloheichem of any of these; because their corruption is in them, and mum be in them: they shall not be accepted for you.

26

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר SDBH said יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֶל־ to מֹשֶׁ֥ה SDBH Moses לֵּאמֹֽר׃ SDBH . . .

And Hashem spoke unto Moshe, saying,

27

שׁ֣וֹר SDBH an ox אוֹ־ SDBH or כֶ֤שֶׂב SDBH a sheep אוֹ־ SDBH . . . עֵז֙ SDBH a goat כִּ֣י When יִוָּלֵ֔ד SDBH is born וְהָיָ֛ה it must remain שִׁבְעַ֥ת SDBH for seven יָמִ֖ים SDBH days תַּ֣חַת SDBH with אִמּ֑וֹ SDBH its mother וּמִיּ֤וֹם SDBH day הַשְּׁמִינִי֙ SDBH From the eighth וָהָ֔לְאָה SDBH on יֵרָצֶ֕ה SDBH it will be acceptable as לְקָרְבַּ֥ן SDBH presented אִשֶּׁ֖ה SDBH a food offering לַיהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

When a bull, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days with its mother; and from the yom hashemini and thenceforth it shall be accepted for a korban isheh (offering made by eish) unto Hashem.

28

וְשׁ֖וֹר SDBH an ox אוֹ־ SDBH or שֶׂ֑ה SDBH a sheep אֹת֣וֹ SDBH - וְאֶת־ SDBH - בְּנ֔וֹ SDBH as its young לֹ֥א SDBH But you must not תִשְׁחֲט֖וּ SDBH slaughter בְּי֥וֹם SDBH day אֶחָֽד׃ SDBH on the same

And whether it be an ox or seh, ye shall not slaughter (shachat) it and her young both in yom echad.

29

וְכִֽי־ When תִזְבְּח֥וּ SDBH you sacrifice זֶֽבַח־ SDBH offering תּוֹדָ֖ה SDBH a thank לַיהוָ֑ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi לִֽרְצֹנְכֶ֖ם SDBH so that it may be acceptable on your behalf תִּזְבָּֽחוּ׃ SDBH offer it

And when ye will offer a zevach todah unto Hashem, offer it liretzonechem (for your acceptance [before Hashem]).

30

בַּיּ֤וֹם SDBH day הַהוּא֙ SDBH that same יֵאָכֵ֔ל SDBH It must be eaten לֹֽא־ SDBH Do not תוֹתִ֥ירוּ SDBH leave מִמֶּ֖נּוּ any of it עַד־ SDBH until בֹּ֑קֶר SDBH morning אֲנִ֖י SDBH I יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

On the same day it shall be eaten; ye shall leave none of it until the boker: I am Hashem.

31

וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם֙ SDBH You are to keep מִצְוֺתַ֔י SDBH My commandments וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם SDBH and practice אֹתָ֑ם SDBH them אֲנִ֖י SDBH I יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

Therefore shall ye be shomer mitzvot over My commandments, and do them: I am Hashem.

32

וְלֹ֤א SDBH You must not תְחַלְּלוּ֙ SDBH profane אֶת־ SDBH - שֵׁ֣ם SDBH name קָדְשִׁ֔י SDBH My holy וְנִ֨קְדַּשְׁתִּ֔י SDBH I must be acknowledged as holy בְּת֖וֹךְ SDBH among בְּנֵ֣י SDBH the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל SDBH . . . אֲנִ֥י SDBH I יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi מְקַדִּשְׁכֶֽם׃ SDBH who sanctifies you

Neither shall ye profane Shem Kodshi; but I will be treated as kadosh among the Bnei Yisroel: I am Hashem, the One making you Kadoshim,

33

הַמּוֹצִ֤יא SDBH who brought you out אֶתְכֶם֙ SDBH - מֵאֶ֣רֶץ SDBH of the land מִצְרַ֔יִם SDBH of Egypt לִהְי֥וֹת to be לָכֶ֖ם your לֵאלֹהִ֑ים SDBH G-d אֲנִ֖י SDBH I יְהוָֽה׃פ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

That brought you out of Eretz Mitzrayim, to be for you Elohim (your G-d): I am Hashem.
