Vayikra 20 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר SDBH said יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֶל־ to מֹשֶׁ֥ה SDBH Moses לֵּאמֹֽר׃ SDBH . . .

And Hashem spoke unto Moshe, saying,

2

וְאֶל־ . . . בְּנֵ֣י SDBH the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵ֘ל SDBH . . . תֹּאמַר֒ SDBH Tell אִ֣ישׁ SDBH Any אִישׁ֩ SDBH . . . מִבְּנֵ֨י SDBH Israelite יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל SDBH . . . וּמִן־ or הַגֵּ֣ר׀ SDBH foreigner הַגָּ֣ר SDBH living בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל SDBH in Israel אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH who יִתֵּ֧ן gives מִזַּרְע֛וֹ SDBH any of his children לַמֹּ֖לֶךְ SDBH to Molech מ֣וֹת SDBH must be put to death יוּמָ֑ת SDBH . . . עַ֥ם SDBH The people הָאָ֖רֶץ SDBH of the land יִרְגְּמֻ֥הוּ SDBH are to stone בָאָֽבֶן׃ SDBH him

Again, thou shalt say to the Bnei Yisroel, Whosoever he be of the Bnei Yisroel, or of the ger that sojourn in Yisroel, that giveth any of his zera unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death; the Am HaAretz shall stone him with stones.

וַאֲנִ֞י SDBH And I אֶתֵּ֤ן will set אֶת־ SDBH - פָּנַי֙ My face בָּאִ֣ישׁ SDBH man הַה֔וּא SDBH against that וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י SDBH and cut him off אֹת֖וֹ SDBH - מִקֶּ֣רֶב SDBH from עַמּ֑וֹ SDBH his people כִּ֤י because מִזַּרְעוֹ֙ SDBH his offspring נָתַ֣ן by giving לַמֹּ֔לֶךְ SDBH to Molech לְמַ֗עַן . . . טַמֵּא֙ SDBH he has defiled אֶת־ SDBH - מִקְדָּשִׁ֔י SDBH My sanctuary וּלְחַלֵּ֖ל SDBH and profaned אֶת־ SDBH - שֵׁ֥ם SDBH name קָדְשִֽׁי׃ SDBH My holy

And I will set My face against that ish, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his zera unto Molech, to make tamei My Mikdash, and to commit chillul Hashem against Shem Kodshi (My Holy Name).

וְאִ֡ם SDBH And if הַעְלֵ֣ם SDBH ever hide יַעְלִימֽוּ֩ SDBH . . . עַ֨ם SDBH the people הָאָ֜רֶץ SDBH of the land אֶת־ SDBH - עֵֽינֵיהֶם֙ SDBH their eyes מִן־ - הָאִ֣ישׁ SDBH the man הַה֔וּא SDBH who בְּתִתּ֥וֹ gives מִזַּרְע֖וֹ SDBH one of his children לַמֹּ֑לֶךְ SDBH to Molech לְבִלְתִּ֖י SDBH and fail הָמִ֥ית SDBH to put to death אֹתֽוֹ׃ SDBH -

And if the Am HaAretz close their eyes when that man giveth of his zera unto Molech, and kill him not,

וְשַׂמְתִּ֨י SDBH will set אֲנִ֧י SDBH then I אֶת־ SDBH - פָּנַ֛י My face בָּאִ֥ישׁ SDBH man הַה֖וּא SDBH against that וּבְמִשְׁפַּחְתּ֑וֹ SDBH and his family וְהִכְרַתִּ֨י SDBH and cut off אֹת֜וֹ SDBH - וְאֵ֣ת׀ SDBH - כָּל־ both him and all הַזֹּנִ֣ים SDBH in prostituting themselves אַחֲרָ֗יו SDBH who follow him לִזְנ֛וֹת SDBH . . . אַחֲרֵ֥י SDBH with הַמֹּ֖לֶךְ SDBH Molech מִקֶּ֥רֶב SDBH from among עַמָּֽם׃ SDBH their people

Then I will set My face against that ish, and against his mishpochah, and will cut him off, and all that go awhoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.

וְהַנֶּ֗פֶשׁ SDBH Whoever אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH תִּפְנֶ֤ה SDBH turns אֶל־ to הָֽאֹבֹת֙ SDBH mediums וְאֶל־ . . . הַיִּדְּעֹנִ֔ים SDBH or spiritists לִזְנ֖וֹת SDBH to prostitute himself אַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם SDBH with them וְנָתַתִּ֤י I will also set אֶת־ SDBH פָּנַי֙ My face בַּנֶּ֣פֶשׁ SDBH against that person הַהִ֔וא SDBH . . . וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י SDBH and cut him off אֹת֖וֹ SDBH - מִקֶּ֥רֶב SDBH from עַמּֽוֹ׃ SDBH his people

And the nefesh that turneth to Ovos (Mediums) and Yidonim (Spiritists), to go a-whoring after them, I will even set My face against that nefesh, and will cut him off from among his people.

וְהִ֨תְקַדִּשְׁתֶּ֔ם SDBH Consecrate yourselves וִהְיִיתֶ֖ם therefore, and be קְדֹשִׁ֑ים SDBH holy כִּ֛י because אֲנִ֥י SDBH I יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃ SDBH your G-d

Consecrate yourselves as kadosh, therefore, and be ye kedoshim: for I am Hashem Eloheichem.

8

וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם֙ SDBH And you shall keep אֶת־ SDBH - חֻקֹּתַ֔י SDBH My statutes וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם SDBH and practice them אֹתָ֑ם SDBH - אֲנִ֥י SDBH I יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi מְקַדִּשְׁכֶֽם׃ SDBH who sanctifies you

And ye shall be shomer over My chukkot, and do them: I am Hashem who sets you apart as kodesh.

9

כִּֽי־ If אִ֣ישׁ SDBH anyone אִ֗ישׁ SDBH . . . אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH - יְקַלֵּ֧ל SDBH curses אֶת־ SDBH - אָבִ֛יו SDBH his father וְאֶת־ SDBH - אִמּ֖וֹ SDBH or mother מ֣וֹת SDBH he must be put to death יוּמָ֑ת SDBH . . . אָבִ֧יו SDBH his father וְאִמּ֛וֹ SDBH or mother קִלֵּ֖ל SDBH He has cursed דָּמָ֥יו SDBH his blood בּֽוֹ׃ [shall be] upon him

For every one that curseth his av or his em shall be surely put to death; he hath cursed his av or his em; his dahm shall be upon him.

10

וְאִ֗ישׁ SDBH If a man אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH - יִנְאַף֙ SDBH commits adultery אֶת־ SDBH with אֵ֣שֶׁת SDBH wife אִ֔ישׁ SDBH [another] man’s אֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH - יִנְאַ֖ף SDBH - אֶת־ SDBH with אֵ֣שֶׁת SDBH the wife רֵעֵ֑הוּ SDBH of his neighbor מֽוֹת־ SDBH must surely be put to death יוּמַ֥ת SDBH . . . הַנֹּאֵ֖ף SDBH both the adulterer וְהַנֹּאָֽפֶת׃ SDBH and the adulteress

And the ish that committeth adultery with the wife of another ish, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the no'ef (adulterer) and the no'efet (adulteress) shall surely be put to death.

11

וְאִ֗ישׁ SDBH If a man אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH - יִשְׁכַּב֙ SDBH lies אֶת־ SDBH with אֵ֣שֶׁת SDBH wife אָבִ֔יו SDBH his father’s עֶרְוַ֥ת SDBH nakedness אָבִ֖יו SDBH his father’s גִּלָּ֑ה SDBH he has uncovered מֽוֹת־ SDBH must surely be put to death יוּמְת֥וּ SDBH . . . שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם SDBH Both דְּמֵיהֶ֥ם SDBH their blood בָּֽם׃ [is] upon them

And the ish that lieth with the wife of his av hath uncovered his father's nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death; their dahm shall be upon them.

12

וְאִ֗ישׁ SDBH If a man אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH - יִשְׁכַּב֙ SDBH lies אֶת־ SDBH with כַּלָּת֔וֹ SDBH his daughter-in-law מ֥וֹת SDBH must surely be put to death יוּמְת֖וּ SDBH . . . שְׁנֵיהֶ֑ם SDBH both תֶּ֥בֶל SDBH perversely עָשׂ֖וּ SDBH They have acted דְּמֵיהֶ֥ם SDBH their blood בָּֽם׃ [is] upon them

And if an ish lie with his kallah (daughter-in-law), both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed tevel (perversion); their dahm shall be upon them.

13

וְאִ֗ישׁ SDBH If a man אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH - יִשְׁכַּ֤ב SDBH lies אֶת־ SDBH with זָכָר֙ SDBH a man מִשְׁכְּבֵ֣י SDBH . . . אִשָּׁ֔ה SDBH as with a woman תּוֹעֵבָ֥ה SDBH an abomination עָשׂ֖וּ SDBH committed שְׁנֵיהֶ֑ם SDBH they have both מ֥וֹת SDBH They must surely be put to death יוּמָ֖תוּ SDBH . . . דְּמֵיהֶ֥ם SDBH their blood בָּֽם׃ [is] upon them

If an ish also lie with zachar, as he lieth with an isha, both of them have committed to'evah; they shall surely be put to death; their dahm shall be upon them.

14

וְאִ֗ישׁ SDBH If a man אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH - יִקַּ֧ח SDBH marries אֶת־ SDBH - אִשָּׁ֛ה SDBH both a woman וְאֶת־ SDBH - אִמָּ֖הּ SDBH and her mother זִמָּ֣ה SDBH is depraved הִ֑וא SDBH it בָּאֵ֞שׁ SDBH in the fire יִשְׂרְפ֤וּ SDBH must be burned אֹתוֹ֙ SDBH and they וְאֶתְהֶ֔ן SDBH Both he וְלֹא־ SDBH no תִהְיֶ֥ה so that there will be זִמָּ֖ה SDBH depravity בְּתוֹכְכֶֽם׃ SDBH among you

And if an ish take a wife and her em, it is zimmah; they shall be burned with eish, both he and they; that there be no zimmah among you.

15

וְאִ֗ישׁ SDBH If a man אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH - יִתֵּ֧ן lies שְׁכָבְתּ֛וֹ SDBH carnally בִּבְהֵמָ֖ה SDBH with an animal מ֣וֹת SDBH he must be put to death יוּמָ֑ת SDBH . . . וְאֶת־ SDBH And הַבְּהֵמָ֖ה SDBH the animal תַּהֲרֹֽגוּ׃ SDBH you are also to kill

And if an ish give his shikhvat to a behemah, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the behemah.

16

וְאִשָּׁ֗ה SDBH If a woman אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH - תִּקְרַ֤ב SDBH approaches אֶל־ . . . כָּל־ any בְּהֵמָה֙ SDBH animal לְרִבְעָ֣ה SDBH to mate אֹתָ֔הּ SDBH with it וְהָרַגְתָּ֥ SDBH you must kill אֶת־ SDBH both הָאִשָּׁ֖ה SDBH the woman וְאֶת־ SDBH and הַבְּהֵמָ֑ה SDBH the animal מ֥וֹת SDBH They must surely be put to death יוּמָ֖תוּ SDBH . . . דְּמֵיהֶ֥ם SDBH their blood בָּֽם׃ [is] upon them

And if an isha approach unto any behemah, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the isha, and the beast; they shall surely be put to death; their dahm shall be upon them.

17

וְאִ֣ישׁ SDBH If a man אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH - יִקַּ֣ח SDBH marries אֶת־ SDBH - אֲחֹת֡וֹ SDBH his sister בַּת־ SDBH whether the daughter אָבִ֣יו SDBH of his father א֣וֹ SDBH or בַת־ SDBH - אִ֠מּוֹ SDBH of his mother וְרָאָ֨ה SDBH and they have sexual relations אֶת־ SDBH . . . עֶרְוָתָ֜הּ SDBH . . . וְהִֽיא־ SDBH . . . תִרְאֶ֤ה SDBH . . . אֶת־ SDBH . . . עֶרְוָתוֹ֙ SDBH . . . חֶ֣סֶד SDBH is a disgrace ה֔וּא SDBH it וְנִ֨כְרְת֔וּ SDBH They must be cut off לְעֵינֵ֖י SDBH in the sight בְּנֵ֣י SDBH of עַמָּ֑ם SDBH their people עֶרְוַ֧ת SDBH the nakedness אֲחֹת֛וֹ SDBH of his sister גִּלָּ֖ה SDBH He has uncovered עֲוֺנ֥וֹ SDBH his iniquity יִשָּֽׂא׃ SDBH he shall bear

And if an ish shall take his achot, the bat of his av (father), or the bat of his em (mother), and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a disgrace; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their Bnei Am; he hath uncovered the nakedness of his achot (sister); he shall bear his iniquity.

18

וְ֠אִישׁ SDBH If a man אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH - יִשְׁכַּ֨ב SDBH lies אֶת־ SDBH with אִשָּׁ֜ה SDBH woman דָּוָ֗ה SDBH a menstruating וְגִלָּ֤ה SDBH and has sexual relations with her אֶת־ SDBH - עֶרְוָתָהּ֙ SDBH - אֶת־ SDBH - מְקֹרָ֣הּ SDBH the source of her flow הֶֽעֱרָ֔ה SDBH he has exposed וְהִ֕יא SDBH and she גִּלְּתָ֖ה SDBH has uncovered אֶת־ SDBH - מְק֣וֹר SDBH the source דָּמֶ֑יהָ SDBH of her blood וְנִכְרְת֥וּ SDBH of them must be cut off שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם SDBH Both מִקֶּ֥רֶב SDBH from among עַמָּֽם׃ SDBH their people

And if an ish shall lie with an isha during her davah (menstruous unwellness), and shall uncover her nakedness, he hath made bare her mekor (source), and she hath uncovered the source of her dahm; and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

19

וְעֶרְוַ֨ת SDBH have sexual relations with אֲח֧וֹת SDBH the sister אִמְּךָ֛ SDBH of your mother וַאֲח֥וֹת SDBH - אָבִ֖יךָ SDBH or your father לֹ֣א SDBH You must not תְגַלֵּ֑ה SDBH . . . כִּ֧י for אֶת־ SDBH - שְׁאֵר֛וֹ SDBH one’s own kin הֶעֱרָ֖ה SDBH it is exposing עֲוֺנָ֥ם SDBH their iniquity יִשָּֽׂאוּ׃ SDBH both shall bear

And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's achot (sister), nor of thy father's achot (sister); for he uncovereth (i.e., incestuously dishonored) his near kin; they shall bear their iniquity.

20

וְאִ֗ישׁ SDBH If a man אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH - יִשְׁכַּב֙ SDBH lies אֶת־ SDBH with דֹּ֣דָת֔וֹ SDBH his uncle’s wife עֶרְוַ֥ת SDBH the nakedness דֹּד֖וֹ SDBH of his uncle גִּלָּ֑ה SDBH he has uncovered חֶטְאָ֥ם SDBH their sin יִשָּׂ֖אוּ SDBH They will bear עֲרִירִ֥ים SDBH childless יָמֻֽתוּ׃ SDBH they shall die

And if an ish shall lie with the wife of his dod, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness; they shall bear their chet; they shall die childless.

21

וְאִ֗ישׁ SDBH If a man אֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH - יִקַּ֛ח SDBH marries אֶת־ SDBH - אֵ֥שֶׁת SDBH wife אָחִ֖יו SDBH his brother’s נִדָּ֣ה SDBH is an act of impurity הִ֑וא SDBH it עֶרְוַ֥ת SDBH the nakedness אָחִ֛יו SDBH of his brother גִּלָּ֖ה SDBH He has uncovered עֲרִירִ֥ים SDBH childless יִהְיֽוּ׃ they shall be

And if an ish shall take his brother's wife, it is niddah; he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

22

וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֤ם SDBH You are therefore to keep אֶת־ SDBH - כָּל־ all חֻקֹּתַי֙ SDBH My statutes וְאֶת־ SDBH - כָּל־ and מִשְׁפָּטַ֔י SDBH ordinances וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם SDBH - אֹתָ֑ם SDBH - וְלֹא־ SDBH will not תָקִ֤יא SDBH vomit you out אֶתְכֶם֙ SDBH - הָאָ֔רֶץ SDBH so that the land אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH where אֲנִ֜י SDBH I מֵבִ֥יא SDBH am bringing אֶתְכֶ֛ם SDBH - שָׁ֖מָּה SDBH - לָשֶׁ֥בֶת SDBH you to live בָּֽהּ׃

Ye shall therefore be shomer over all My chukkot, and all My mishpatim, and do them; that HaAretz, whither I bring you to dwell therein, vomit you not out.

23

וְלֹ֤א SDBH You must not תֵֽלְכוּ֙ SDBH follow בְּחֻקֹּ֣ת SDBH the statutes הַגּ֔וֹי SDBH of the nations אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH - אֲנִ֥י SDBH I מְשַׁלֵּ֖חַ SDBH am driving out מִפְּנֵיכֶ֑ם before you כִּ֤י Because אֶת־ SDBH - כָּל־ all אֵ֙לֶּה֙ SDBH these things עָשׂ֔וּ SDBH they did וָאָקֻ֖ץ SDBH I abhorred בָּֽם׃ them

And ye shall not walk in the chukkot of HaGoy, which I cast out before you; for they committed all these things; therefore I abhorred them.

24

וָאֹמַ֣ר SDBH But I have told לָכֶ֗ם you אַתֶּם֮ SDBH that you תִּֽירְשׁ֣וּ SDBH will inherit אֶת־ SDBH - אַדְמָתָם֒ SDBH their land וַאֲנִ֞י SDBH since I אֶתְּנֶ֤נָּה will give לָכֶם֙ it to you לָרֶ֣שֶׁת SDBH as an inheritance אֹתָ֔הּ SDBH - אֶ֛רֶץ SDBH a land זָבַ֥ת SDBH flowing חָלָ֖ב SDBH with milk וּדְבָ֑שׁ SDBH and honey אֲנִי֙ SDBH I יְהוָ֣ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם SDBH your G-d אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH who הִבְדַּ֥לְתִּי SDBH has set you apart אֶתְכֶ֖ם SDBH - מִן־ from הָֽעַמִּֽים׃ SDBH the peoples

But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to inherit it, an Eretz zavat cholov udevash: I am Hashem Eloheichem, which have separated you from the peoples.

25

וְהִבְדַּלְתֶּ֞ם SDBH You are therefore to distinguish בֵּֽין־ SDBH between הַבְּהֵמָ֤ה SDBH animals הַטְּהֹרָה֙ SDBH clean לַטְּמֵאָ֔ה SDBH and unclean וּבֵין־ SDBH and הָע֥וֹף SDBH birds הַטָּמֵ֖א SDBH - לַטָּהֹ֑ר SDBH - וְלֹֽא־ SDBH Do not תְשַׁקְּצ֨וּ SDBH become contaminated אֶת־ SDBH - נַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶ֜ם SDBH - בַּבְּהֵמָ֣ה SDBH by any animal וּבָע֗וֹף SDBH or bird וּבְכֹל֙ or by anything אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH that תִּרְמֹ֣שׂ SDBH crawls הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה SDBH on the ground אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH I have set these הִבְדַּ֥לְתִּי SDBH apart לָכֶ֖ם for you לְטַמֵּֽא׃ SDBH as unclean

Ye shall therefore distinguish habehemah hatehorah from teme'ah, and between fowls tamei and tahor: and ye shall not make your nefashot sheketz (abomination) by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as tamei.

26

וִהְיִ֤יתֶם You are to be לִי֙ to Me קְדֹשִׁ֔ים SDBH holy כִּ֥י because קָד֖וֹשׁ SDBH am holy אֲנִ֣י SDBH I יְהוָ֑ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וָאַבְדִּ֥ל SDBH and I have set you apart אֶתְכֶ֛ם SDBH - מִן־ from הָֽעַמִּ֖ים SDBH the nations לִהְי֥וֹת to be לִֽי׃ My own

And ye shall be kadoshim unto Me: for I Hashem am kadosh, and have separated you from the nations, that ye should be Mine.

27

וְאִ֣ישׁ SDBH A man אֽוֹ־ SDBH or אִשָּׁ֗ה SDBH a woman כִּֽי־ . . . יִהְיֶ֨ה who is בָהֶ֥ם א֛וֹב SDBH a medium א֥וֹ SDBH or יִדְּעֹנִ֖י SDBH spiritist מ֣וֹת SDBH must surely be put to death יוּמָ֑תוּ SDBH . . . בָּאֶ֛בֶן SDBH vvv יִרְגְּמ֥וּ SDBH They shall be stoned אֹתָ֖ם SDBH - דְּמֵיהֶ֥ם SDBH their blood בָּֽם׃פ [is] upon them

An ish also or isha who is an Ov (Medium) or a Yidoni (Spiritist), shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones; their dahm shall be upon them. [EMOR]
