אֲשֶׁ֨ר SDBH that הָיָ֧ה came דְבַר־ SDBH This is the word יְהוָ֛ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֶל־ to יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ SDBH Jeremiah הַנָּבִ֖יא SDBH the prophet אֶל־ about פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים SDBH the Philistines בְּטֶ֛רֶם SDBH before יַכֶּ֥ה SDBH struck down פַרְעֹ֖ה SDBH Pharaoh אֶת־ SDBH - עַזָּֽה׃ס SDBH Gaza

The Devar Hashem that came to Yirmeyah HaNavi against the Pelishtim (Philistines), before Pharaoh smote Azah (Gaza).

כֹּ֣ה׀ This is what אָמַ֣ר SDBH says יְהוָ֗ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi הִנֵּה־ See how מַ֜יִם SDBH the waters עֹלִ֤ים SDBH are rising מִצָּפוֹן֙ SDBH from the north וְהָיוּ֙ and becoming לְנַ֣חַל SDBH torrent שׁוֹטֵ֔ף SDBH an overflowing וְיִשְׁטְפוּ֙ SDBH They will overflow אֶ֣רֶץ SDBH the land וּמְלוֹאָ֔הּ SDBH and its fullness עִ֖יר SDBH the cities וְיֹ֣שְׁבֵי SDBH and their inhabitants בָ֑הּ וְזָֽעֲקוּ֙ SDBH will cry out הָֽאָדָ֔ם SDBH The people וְהֵילִ֕ל SDBH will wail כֹּ֖ל and all יוֹשֵׁ֥ב SDBH who dwell הָאָֽרֶץ׃ SDBH in the land

Thus saith Hashem: Hinei, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the Ir, and them that dwell therein; then the adam shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.

מִקּ֗וֹל SDBH at the sound שַֽׁעֲטַת֙ SDBH of the galloping פַּרְס֣וֹת SDBH hooves אַבִּירָ֔יו SDBH of stallions מֵרַ֣עַשׁ SDBH the rumbling לְרִכְבּ֔וֹ SDBH of chariots הֲמ֖וֹן SDBH and the clatter גַּלְגִּלָּ֑יו SDBH of their wheels לֹֽא־ SDBH will not הִפְנ֤וּ SDBH turn back אָבוֹת֙ SDBH The fathers אֶל־ for בָּנִ֔ים SDBH their sons מֵֽרִפְי֖וֹן SDBH will hang limp יָדָֽיִם׃ SDBH their hands

At the noise of the stamping of the hooves of his mighty steeds, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the avot shall not look back to their banim for the limpness of their hands;

עַל־ For הַיּ֗וֹם SDBH the day הַבָּא֙ SDBH has come לִשְׁד֣וֹד SDBH to destroy אֶת־ SDBH - כָּל־ all פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים SDBH the Philistines לְהַכְרִ֤ית SDBH to cut off לְצֹר֙ SDBH from Tyre וּלְצִיד֔וֹן SDBH and Sidon כֹּ֖ל every שָׂרִ֣יד SDBH remaining עֹזֵ֑ר SDBH ally כִּֽי־ Indeed שֹׁדֵ֤ד SDBH is about to destroy יְהוָה֙ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֶת־ SDBH - פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים SDBH the Philistines שְׁאֵרִ֖ית SDBH the remnant אִ֥י SDBH from the coasts כַפְתּֽוֹר׃ SDBH of Caphtor

Because of the Yom HaBah for destroying all the Pelishtim (Philistines), and to cut off from Tzor and Tzidon every helper that remaineth; for Hashem will destroy the Pelishtim (Philistines), the remnant of the coast of Caphtor.

בָּ֤אָה SDBH - קָרְחָה֙ SDBH will shave their heads in mourning אֶל־ - עַזָּ֔ה SDBH The people of Gaza נִדְמְתָ֥ה SDBH will be silenced אַשְׁקְל֖וֹן SDBH Ashkelon שְׁאֵרִ֣ית SDBH O remnant עִמְקָ֑ם SDBH of their valley עַד־ SDBH how long מָתַ֖י SDBH . . . תִּתְגּוֹדָֽדִי׃ס SDBH will you gash yourself

The shaved head has come upon Azah (Gaza); Ashkelon is silenced. Remnant of their valley, how long wilt thou cut thyself?

ה֗וֹי SDBH Alas חֶ֚רֶב SDBH O sword לַֽיהוָ֔ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi עַד־ SDBH how long אָ֖נָה SDBH . . . לֹ֣א SDBH until you rest תִשְׁקֹ֑טִי SDBH . . . הֵאָֽסְפִי֙ SDBH Return אַל־ to תַּעְרֵ֔ךְ SDBH your sheath הֵרָגְעִ֖י SDBH cease וָדֹֽמִּי׃ SDBH and be still

O thou cherev Hashem, how long will it be until thou be quiet? Put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.

אֵ֣יךְ SDBH How תִּשְׁקֹ֔טִי SDBH can it rest וַֽיהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi צִוָּה־ SDBH has commanded לָ֑הּ it אֶֽל־ against אַשְׁקְל֛וֹן SDBH Ashkelon וְאֶל־ . . . ח֥וֹף SDBH and the shore הַיָּ֖ם SDBH of its coastland שָׁ֥ם SDBH . . . יְעָדָֽהּ׃ס SDBH He has appointed it

How can it be quiet, seeing Hashem hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea coast? There hath He appointed it.
