Yirmeyah 43 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

וַיְהִי֩ - כְּכַלּ֨וֹת SDBH had finished יִרְמְיָ֜הוּ SDBH When Jeremiah לְדַבֵּ֣ר SDBH telling אֶל־ . . . כָּל־ all הָעָ֗ם SDBH the people אֶת־ SDBH - כָּל־ all דִּבְרֵי֙ SDBH the words יְהוָ֣ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם SDBH their G-d אֲשֶׁ֧ר SDBH - שְׁלָח֛וֹ SDBH had sent him יְהוָ֥ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם SDBH . . . אֲלֵיהֶ֑ם to [say] אֵ֥ת SDBH - כָּל־ everything that הַדְּבָרִ֖ים SDBH . . . הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ס SDBH . . .

And it came to pass, that when Yirmeyah had made an end of speaking unto kol haAm all the divrei Hashem Eloheihem, for which Hashem Eloheihem had sent him to them, even all these words,

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר SDBH said עֲזַרְיָ֤ה SDBH Azariah בֶן־ SDBH son הוֹשַֽׁעְיָה֙ SDBH of Hoshaiah וְיוֹחָנָ֣ן SDBH Johanan בֶּן־ SDBH son קָרֵ֔חַ SDBH of Kareah וְכָל־ and all הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים SDBH men הַזֵּדִ֑ים SDBH the arrogant אֹמְרִ֣ים SDBH אֶֽל־ to יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ SDBH Jeremiah שֶׁ֚קֶר SDBH are lying אַתָּ֣ה SDBH You מְדַבֵּ֔ר SDBH vvv לֹ֣א SDBH has not שְׁלָחֲךָ֞ SDBH sent you יְהוָ֤ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ SDBH our G-d לֵאמֹ֔ר SDBH to say לֹֽא־ SDBH You must not תָבֹ֥אוּ SDBH go מִצְרַ֖יִם SDBH to Egypt לָג֥וּר SDBH . . . שָֽׁם׃ SDBH to reside there

Then spoke Azaryah ben Hoshayah, Yochanan ben Kareach, and all the anashim hazedim, saying unto Yirmeyah, Thou speakest sheker; Hashem Eloheinu hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Mitzrayim to sojourn there;

כִּ֗י Rather בָּרוּךְ֙ SDBH Baruch בֶּן־ SDBH son נֵ֣רִיָּ֔ה SDBH of Neriah מַסִּ֥ית SDBH is inciting אֹתְךָ֖ SDBH you בָּ֑נוּ against us לְמַעַן֩ to תֵּ֨ת deliver אֹתָ֤נוּ SDBH us בְיַֽד־ SDBH into the hands הַכַּשְׂדִּים֙ SDBH of the Chaldeans לְהָמִ֣ית SDBH so that they may put us to death אֹתָ֔נוּ SDBH - וּלְהַגְל֥וֹת SDBH or exile אֹתָ֖נוּ SDBH us בָּבֶֽל׃ SDBH to Babylon

But Baruch ben Neriyah inciteth thee against us, for to deliver us into the yad haKasdim, that they might put us to death, and carry us away into the Golus of Babylon.

וְלֹֽא־ SDBH vvv שָׁמַע֩ SDBH disobeyed יוֹחָנָ֨ן SDBH So Johanan בֶּן־ SDBH son קָרֵ֜חַ SDBH of Kareah וְכָל־ and all שָׂרֵ֧י SDBH the commanders הַחֲיָלִ֛ים SDBH of the forces וְכָל־ . . . הָעָ֖ם SDBH . . . בְּק֣וֹל SDBH the command יְהוָ֑ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi לָשֶׁ֖בֶת SDBH to stay בְּאֶ֥רֶץ SDBH in the land יְהוּדָֽה׃ SDBH of Judah

So Yochanan ben Kareach, and all the officers of the forces, and kol haAm, obeyed not the voice of Hashem, to dwell in Eretz Yehudah.

וַיִּקַּ֞ח SDBH took יוֹחָנָ֤ן SDBH Instead, Johanan בֶּן־ SDBH son קָרֵ֙חַ֙ SDBH of Kareah וְכָל־ and all שָׂרֵ֣י SDBH the commanders הַחֲיָלִ֔ים SDBH of the forces אֵ֖ת SDBH - כָּל־ the whole שְׁאֵרִ֣ית SDBH remnant יְהוּדָ֑ה SDBH of Judah אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH those who שָׁ֗בוּ SDBH had returned מִכָּל־ from all הַגּוֹיִם֙ SDBH the nations אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH to which נִדְּחוּ־ SDBH they had been scattered שָׁ֔ם SDBH . . . לָג֖וּר SDBH . . . בְּאֶ֥רֶץ SDBH to the land יְהוּדָֽה׃ SDBH of Judah

But Yochanan ben Kareach, and all the officers of the forces, took all the she'erit Yehudah, that were returned from kol haGoyim, where they had been driven there, to dwell in Eretz Yehudah;

אֶֽת־ SDBH - הַ֠גְּבָרִים SDBH the men וְאֶת־ SDBH - הַנָּשִׁ֣ים SDBH the women וְאֶת־ SDBH - הַטַּף֮ SDBH the children וְאֶת־ SDBH - בְּנ֣וֹת SDBH daughters הַמֶּלֶךְ֒ SDBH the king’s וְאֵ֣ת SDBH - כָּל־ and everyone הַנֶּ֗פֶשׁ SDBH . . . אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH whom הִנִּ֙יחַ֙ SDBH had allowed to remain נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֣ן SDBH Nebuzaradan רַב־ SDBH captain טַבָּחִ֔ים SDBH of the guard אֶת־ SDBH with גְּדַלְיָ֖הוּ SDBH Gedaliah בֶּן־ SDBH son אֲחִיקָ֣ם SDBH of Ahikam בֶּן־ SDBH the son שָׁפָ֑ן SDBH of Shaphan וְאֵת֙ SDBH as well as יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ SDBH Jeremiah הַנָּבִ֔יא SDBH the prophet וְאֶת־ SDBH - בָּר֖וּךְ SDBH and Baruch בֶּן־ SDBH son נֵרִיָּֽהוּ׃ SDBH of Neriah

Even men, and women, and children, and the banot hamelech,and every nefesh that Nevuzaradan, the captain of the imperial guard, had left with Gedalyah ben Achikam ben Shaphan, and Yirmeyah HaNavi, and Baruch ben Neriyah.

וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ SDBH So they entered אֶ֣רֶץ SDBH the land מִצְרַ֔יִם SDBH of Egypt כִּ֛י because לֹ֥א SDBH they did not שָׁמְע֖וּ SDBH obey בְּק֣וֹל SDBH the voice יְהוָ֑ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ SDBH and they went עַד־ SDBH as far as תַּחְפַּנְחֵֽס׃ס SDBH Tahpanhes

So they came into Eretz Mitzrayim; for they obeyed not the voice of Hashem; thus came they even as far as Tahpanhes.

וַיְהִ֤י came דְבַר־ SDBH Then the word יְהוָה֙ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֶֽל־ to יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ SDBH Jeremiah בְּתַחְפַּנְחֵ֖ס SDBH at Tahpanhes לֵאמֹֽר׃ SDBH . . .

Then came the Devar Hashem unto Yirmeyah in Tahpanhes, saying,

קַ֣ח SDBH pick up בְּיָדְךָ֞ SDBH . . . אֲבָנִ֣ים SDBH stones גְּדֹל֗וֹת SDBH some large וּטְמַנְתָּ֤ם SDBH and bury them בַּמֶּ֙לֶט֙ SDBH in the clay בַּמַּלְבֵּ֔ן SDBH of the brick pavement אֲשֶׁ֛ר SDBH - בְּפֶ֥תַח SDBH at the entrance בֵּית־ SDBH palace פַּרְעֹ֖ה SDBH to Pharaoh’s בְּתַחְפַּנְחֵ֑ס SDBH at Tahpanhes לְעֵינֵ֖י SDBH In the sight אֲנָשִׁ֥ים SDBH vvv יְהוּדִֽים׃ SDBH [of the] Jews

Take avanim gedolim in thine yad, and bury them in the clay in the brick pavement, which is at the entrance of the bais Pharaoh in Tahpanhes, before the eyes of the anshei Yehudah;

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ SDBH Then tell them אֲלֵיהֶ֡ם that כֹּֽה־ this is what אָמַר֩ SDBH says יְהוָ֨ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi צְבָא֜וֹת SDBH of Hosts אֱלֹהֵ֣י SDBH the G-d יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל SDBH of Israel הִנְנִ֤י . . . שֹׁלֵ֙חַ֙ SDBH I will send for וְ֠לָקַחְתִּי SDBH . . . אֶת־ SDBH - נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֤ר SDBH Nebuchadnezzar מֶֽלֶךְ־ SDBH king בָּבֶל֙ SDBH of Babylon עַבְדִּ֔י SDBH My servant וְשַׂמְתִּ֣י SDBH and I will set כִסְא֔וֹ SDBH his throne מִמַּ֛עַל SDBH over לָאֲבָנִ֥ים SDBH stones הָאֵ֖לֶּה SDBH these אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH that טָמָ֑נְתִּי SDBH I have embedded וְנָטָ֥ה SDBH and he will spread אֶת־ SDBH - שַׁפְרוּרוֹ SDBH his royal pavilion עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ over them

And say unto them, Thus saith Hashem Tzva'os Elohei Yisroel: Hineni, I will send and take Nevuchadretzar Melech Bavel, avdi (my servant), and will set his throne upon these avanim that I have hid; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.

וּבָאָה SDBH He will come וְהִכָּ֖ה SDBH and strike down אֶת־ SDBH - אֶ֣רֶץ SDBH the land מִצְרָ֑יִם SDBH of Egypt אֲשֶׁ֧ר SDBH to those לַמָּ֣וֶת SDBH destined for death לַמָּ֗וֶת SDBH bringing death וַאֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH to those לַשְּׁבִי֙ SDBH destined for captivity לַשֶּׁ֔בִי SDBH captivity וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH to those לַחֶ֖רֶב SDBH destined for the sword לֶחָֽרֶב׃ SDBH and the sword

And when he cometh, he shall smite Eretz Mitzrayim, and deliver such as are for mot to mot; and such as are for captivity to captivity; and such as are for the cherev to the cherev.

וְהִצַּ֣תִּי SDBH I will kindle אֵ֗שׁ SDBH a fire בְּבָתֵּי֙ SDBH in the temples אֱלֹהֵ֣י SDBH of the g-ds מִצְרַ֔יִם SDBH of Egypt וּשְׂרָפָ֖ם SDBH and [Nebuchadnezzar] will burn [those temples] וְשָׁבָ֑ם SDBH and take [their g-ds] as captives וְעָטָה֩ SDBH So he will wrap himself אֶת־ SDBH with אֶ֨רֶץ SDBH the land מִצְרַ֜יִם SDBH of Egypt כַּאֲשֶׁר־ SDBH as יַעְטֶ֤ה SDBH wraps himself הָֽרֹעֶה֙ SDBH a shepherd אֶת־ SDBH - בִּגְד֔וֹ SDBH in his garment וְיָצָ֥א SDBH and he will depart מִשָּׁ֖ם SDBH from there בְּשָׁלֽוֹם׃ SDBH unscathed

And I will kindle an eish in the batim (houses) of the g-ds of Mitzrayim; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive; and he shall wrap himself with Eretz Mitzrayim, as a ro'eh putteth on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in shalom.

וְשִׁבַּ֗ר SDBH He will demolish אֶֽת־ SDBH - מַצְּבוֹת֙ SDBH the sacred pillars בֵּ֣ית SDBH vvv שֶׁ֔מֶשׁ SDBH of the temple of the sun אֲשֶׁ֖ר SDBH - בְּאֶ֣רֶץ SDBH in the land מִצְרָ֑יִם SDBH of Egypt וְאֶת־ SDBH and בָּתֵּ֥י SDBH the temples אֱלֹהֵֽי־ SDBH of the g-ds מִצְרַ֖יִם SDBH of Egypt יִשְׂרֹ֥ף SDBH he will burn down בָּאֵֽשׁ׃ס SDBH . . .

He shall demolish also the matzevot Bais Shemesh, that is in Eretz Mitzrayim; and the batim (houses) of the g-ds of the Egyptians shall he burn with eish.
