Yeshayah 55 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

ה֤וֹי SDBH Come כָּל־ all you צָמֵא֙ SDBH [who are] thirsty לְכ֣וּ SDBH come לַמַּ֔יִם SDBH to the waters וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH and you אֵֽין־ SDBH without ל֖וֹ - כָּ֑סֶף SDBH money לְכ֤וּ SDBH come שִׁבְרוּ֙ SDBH buy וֶֽאֱכֹ֔לוּ SDBH and eat וּלְכ֣וּ SDBH Come שִׁבְר֗וּ SDBH buy בְּלוֹא־ SDBH without כֶ֛סֶף SDBH money וּבְל֥וֹא SDBH and without מְחִ֖יר SDBH cost יַ֥יִן SDBH wine וְחָלָֽב׃ SDBH and milk

Come, kol tzameh (all ye who are thirsty), come ye to the mayim and he that hath no kesef; come ye, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy yayin and cholov without kesef and without mekhir (price, cost).

לָ֤מָּה SDBH Why תִשְׁקְלוּ־ SDBH spend כֶ֙סֶף֙ SDBH money בְּֽלוֹא־ SDBH on that which is not לֶ֔חֶם SDBH bread וִיגִיעֲכֶ֖ם SDBH and your labor בְּל֣וֹא SDBH on that which does not לְשָׂבְעָ֑ה SDBH satisfy שִׁמְע֨וּ SDBH Listen carefully שָׁמ֤וֹעַ SDBH . . . אֵלַי֙ to Me וְאִכְלוּ־ SDBH and eat ט֔וֹב SDBH what is good וְתִתְעַנַּ֥ג SDBH will delight בַּדֶּ֖שֶׁן SDBH in the richest of foods נַפְשְׁכֶֽם׃ SDBH and your soul

Why do ye spend kesef for that which is not lechem? And your labor for that which satisfieth not? Pay heed diligently unto Me, and eat ye that which is tov, and let your nefesh delight itself in deshen (the best food, the fat of the land).

הַטּ֤וּ SDBH Incline אָזְנְכֶם֙ SDBH your ear וּלְכ֣וּ SDBH and come אֵלַ֔י to Me שִׁמְע֖וּ SDBH listen וּתְחִ֣י SDBH may live נַפְשְׁכֶ֑ם SDBH so that your soul וְאֶכְרְתָ֤ה SDBH I will make לָכֶם֙ with you בְּרִ֣ית SDBH covenant עוֹלָ֔ם SDBH an everlasting חַֽסְדֵ֥י SDBH My loving devotion דָוִ֖ד SDBH to David הַנֶּאֱמָנִֽים׃ SDBH promised

Incline your ozen, and come unto Me; hear, and your nefesh shall live; and I will make with you a Brit Olam, even the chasdei Dovid hane'emanim [see Ac 13:34 OJBC].

הֵ֛ן Behold עֵ֥ד SDBH a witness לְאוּמִּ֖ים SDBH to the nations נְתַתִּ֑יו I have made him נָגִ֥יד SDBH a leader וּמְצַוֵּ֖ה SDBH and commander לְאֻמִּֽים׃ SDBH of the peoples

See, I have given him [Moshiach, Ac 13:34 OJAC] for an ed l'ummim (witness to the Nations), a Nagid and Metzavveh (commander) for the Nations.

הֵ֣ן Surely גּ֤וֹי SDBH a nation לֹֽא־ SDBH you do not תֵדַע֙ SDBH know תִּקְרָ֔א SDBH you will summon וְג֥וֹי SDBH and nations לֹֽא־ SDBH who do not יְדָע֖וּךָ SDBH know you אֵלֶ֣יךָ to you יָר֑וּצוּ SDBH will run לְמַ֙עַן֙ . . . יְהוָ֣ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ SDBH your G-d וְלִקְד֥וֹשׁ SDBH the Holy יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל SDBH One of Israel כִּ֥י For פֵאֲרָֽךְ׃ס SDBH has bestowed glory on you

Behold, thou shalt summon a Goy (People) that thou knowest not, and Goy that knew not thee shall run unto thee l'ma'an (for the sake of) Hashem Eloheicha and for Kadosh Yisroel; for He hath glorified thee.

דִּרְשׁ֥וּ SDBH Seek יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi בְּהִמָּצְא֑וֹ SDBH while He may be found קְרָאֻ֖הוּ SDBH call on Him בִּֽהְיוֹת֥וֹ while He is קָרֽוֹב׃ SDBH near

Seek ye Hashem while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is karov (near);

יַעֲזֹ֤ב SDBH forsake רָשָׁע֙ SDBH Let the wicked man דַּרְכּ֔וֹ SDBH his way וְאִ֥ישׁ SDBH man אָ֖וֶן SDBH and the unrighteous מַחְשְׁבֹתָ֑יו SDBH his thoughts וְיָשֹׁ֤ב SDBH let him return אֶל־ to יְהוָה֙ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וִֽירַחֲמֵ֔הוּ SDBH that He may have compassion וְאֶל־ and to אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ SDBH our G-d כִּֽי־ for יַרְבֶּ֥ה He will freely לִסְלֽוֹחַ׃ SDBH pardon

Let the rasha forsake his derech, and the ish aven his machshevot; and let him return unto Hashem, and He will have rachamim upon him; and to Eloheinu, for He will abundantly pardon.

כִּ֣י For לֹ֤א SDBH are not מַחְשְׁבוֹתַי֙ SDBH My thoughts מַחְשְׁב֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם SDBH your thoughts וְלֹ֥א SDBH neither are דַרְכֵיכֶ֖ם SDBH your ways דְּרָכָ֑י SDBH My ways נְאֻ֖ם SDBH declares יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

For My machshevot are not your machshevot, neither are the darkhei (ways) of you the darkhei of Me, saith Hashem.

כִּֽי־ For גָבְה֥וּ SDBH are higher שָׁמַ֖יִם SDBH [as] the heavens מֵאָ֑רֶץ SDBH than the earth כֵּ֣ן SDBH so גָּבְה֤וּ SDBH are higher דְרָכַי֙ SDBH My ways מִדַּרְכֵיכֶ֔ם SDBH than your ways וּמַחְשְׁבֹתַ֖י SDBH and My thoughts מִמַּחְשְׁבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ SDBH than your thoughts

For as Shomayim is higher than ha'aretz, so are the darkhei of Me higher than the darkhei of you, and My machshevot than your machshevot.

כִּ֡י For כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH just as יֵרֵד֩ SDBH fall הַגֶּ֨שֶׁם SDBH rain וְהַשֶּׁ֜לֶג SDBH and snow מִן־ from הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם SDBH heaven וְשָׁ֙מָּה֙ SDBH - לֹ֣א SDBH and do not יָשׁ֔וּב SDBH return כִּ֚י without אִם־ SDBH . . . הִרְוָ֣ה SDBH watering אֶת־ SDBH - הָאָ֔רֶץ SDBH the earth וְהוֹלִידָ֖הּ SDBH making it bud וְהִצְמִיחָ֑הּ SDBH and sprout וְנָ֤תַן and providing זֶ֙רַע֙ SDBH seed לַזֹּרֵ֔עַ SDBH to sow וְלֶ֖חֶם SDBH and food לָאֹכֵֽל׃ SDBH to eat

For as the geshem cometh down, and the sheleg (snow) from Shomayim, and returneth not to there, but watereth ha'aretz, and maketh it yield forth v'hitzmicha (and sprout, spring up; Tzemach), that it may give zera to the zore'a (sower), and lechem to the eater;

כֵּ֣ן SDBH so יִֽהְיֶ֤ה . . . דְבָרִי֙ SDBH My word אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH that יֵצֵ֣א SDBH proceeds מִפִּ֔י SDBH from My mouth לֹֽא־ SDBH will not יָשׁ֥וּב SDBH return אֵלַ֖י to Me רֵיקָ֑ם SDBH empty כִּ֤י but אִם־ SDBH . . . עָשָׂה֙ SDBH it will accomplish אֶת־ SDBH - אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH what חָפַ֔צְתִּי SDBH I please וְהִצְלִ֖יחַ SDBH and it will prosper אֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH where שְׁלַחְתִּֽיו׃ SDBH I send it

So shall My Davar (the Word of Hashem) be that goeth forth out of My mouth; He shall not return unto Me reikam (empty, void) but He [the Davar Hashem, see Yn 1:1,14] shall do that which I please, and He [the Davar Hashem] shall accomplish the purpose whereto I sent Him.

כִּֽי־ You will indeed בְשִׂמְחָ֣ה SDBH with joy תֵצֵ֔אוּ SDBH go out וּבְשָׁל֖וֹם SDBH in peace תּֽוּבָל֑וּן SDBH and be led forth הֶהָרִ֣ים SDBH the mountains וְהַגְּבָע֗וֹת SDBH and hills יִפְצְח֤וּ SDBH will burst לִפְנֵיכֶם֙ before you רִנָּ֔ה SDBH into song וְכָל־ and all עֲצֵ֥י SDBH the trees הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה SDBH of the field יִמְחֲאוּ־ SDBH will clap כָֽף׃ SDBH their hands

For ye shall go out with simcha, and be led back with shalom; the harim and the geva'ot (hills) shall break forth into singing before you, and kol atzei hasadeh shall clap their hands.

תַּ֤חַת SDBH Instead of הַֽנַּעֲצוּץ֙ SDBH the thornbush יַעֲלֶ֣ה SDBH will grow בְר֔וֹשׁ SDBH the cypress תַּחַת SDBH and instead of הַסִּרְפַּ֖ד SDBH the brier יַעֲלֶ֣ה SDBH will spring up הֲדַ֑ס SDBH the myrtle וְהָיָ֤ה this will make לַֽיהוָה֙ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi לְשֵׁ֔ם SDBH a name לְא֥וֹת SDBH sign עוֹלָ֖ם SDBH an everlasting לֹ֥א SDBH never יִכָּרֵֽת׃ס SDBH to be destroyed

Instead of the thornbush shall come up the cypress, and instead of the sirpad (nettle, prickly herb) shall come up the myrtle; and it shall be to Hashem for a Shem, for an ot olam lo yikaret (everlasting sign that shall not be cut off). [See Daniel 9:26]
