הַמַּשָׂא֙ SDBH [This is] the burden אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH that חָזָ֔ה SDBH received in a vision חֲבַקּ֖וּק SDBH Habakkuk הַנָּבִֽיא׃ SDBH the prophet
The burden which Chabakuk HaNavi did see. [

עַד־ SDBH How long אָ֧נָה SDBH . . . יְהוָ֛ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi שִׁוַּ֖עְתִּי SDBH must I call for help וְלֹ֣א SDBH but You do not תִשְׁמָ֑ע SDBH hear אֶזְעַ֥ק SDBH or cry out אֵלֶ֛יךָ to You חָמָ֖ס SDBH Violence וְלֹ֥א SDBH but You do not תוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃ SDBH save
Until when, Hashem, must I cry for help, and Thou wilt not hear? Even cry out unto Thee, Chamas (violence!), and Thou wilt not save?

לָ֣מָּה SDBH Why תַרְאֵ֤נִי SDBH do You make me see אָ֙וֶן֙ SDBH iniquity וְעָמָ֣ל SDBH wrongdoing תַּבִּ֔יט SDBH Why do You tolerate וְשֹׁ֥ד SDBH Destruction וְחָמָ֖ס SDBH and violence לְנֶגְדִּ֑י [are] before me וַיְהִ֧י is ongoing רִ֦יב SDBH Strife וּמָד֖וֹן SDBH and conflict יִשָּֽׂא׃ SDBH abounds
Why dost Thou show me iniquity, and cause me to behold trouble? For plundering and chamas are before me; and there are those that raise up strife and contention.
Therefore the torah is slacked, and mishpat (judgment) doth never prevail; for the rasha doth hem in the tzadik; therefore mishpat (justice) proceedeth perverted.
[Hashem says:] Behold ye the Goyim, and regard, and wonder marvelously; for I will work a work in your yamim which, though it be told you, of it ye will have no emunah (faith).
6
כִּֽי־ For הִנְנִ֤י behold מֵקִים֙ SDBH I am raising up אֶת־ SDBH - הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים SDBH the Chaldeans הַגּ֖וֹי SDBH nation הַמַּ֣ר SDBH that ruthless וְהַנִּמְהָ֑ר SDBH and impetuous הַֽהוֹלֵךְ֙ SDBH which marches לְמֶרְחֲבֵי־ SDBH through the breadth אֶ֔רֶץ SDBH of the earth לָרֶ֖שֶׁת SDBH to seize מִשְׁכָּנ֥וֹת SDBH dwellings לֹּא־ SDBH not לֽוֹ׃ their own
For, hineni, I raise up the Kasdim (Chaldeans), that Goy bitter and impetuous, which shall march far and wide over the earth, to confiscate the mishkanot (dwelling places) that are not their own.
7
They are terrible and dreadful; their mishpat and their dignity shall proceed from themselves.
Their susim also are swifter than the leopards, keener than the evening wolves; and their parash (cavalry) shall charge ahead, and their parash shall come from afar; they shall fly as the nesher (eagle), swooping to devour.
9
כֻּלֹּה֙ All לְחָמָ֣ס SDBH on violence יָב֔וֹא SDBH of them come מְגַמַּ֥ת SDBH bent פְּנֵיהֶ֖ם their hordes קָדִ֑ימָה SDBH [advance like] the east [wind] וַיֶּאֱסֹ֥ף SDBH they gather כַּח֖וֹל SDBH like sand שֶֽׁבִי׃ SDBH prisoners
They shall come all for chamas; the swarm of their faces is directed forward, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.
And they shall scoff at the melachim, and the roznim (dignitaries) shall be a scorn unto them; they shall laugh at every stronghold; for they shall heap dirt (earthen ramps), and take it.
11
אָ֣ז SDBH Then חָלַ֥ף SDBH they sweep by ר֛וּחַ SDBH like the wind וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖ר SDBH and pass through וְאָשֵׁ֑ם SDBH are guilty ז֥וּ SDBH They כֹח֖וֹ SDBH their own strength לֵאלֹהֽוֹ׃ SDBH is their g-d
Then they sweep on like the ruach (wind), guilty men whose g-d is his own koach.

הֲל֧וֹא SDBH not אַתָּ֣ה SDBH Are You מִקֶּ֗דֶם SDBH from everlasting יְהוָ֧ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹהַ֛י SDBH my G-d קְדֹשִׁ֖י SDBH my Holy One לֹ֣א SDBH vvv נָמ֑וּת SDBH We will not die יְהוָה֙ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi לְמִשְׁפָּ֣ט SDBH to execute judgment שַׂמְתּ֔וֹ SDBH You have appointed them וְצ֖וּר SDBH O Rock לְהוֹכִ֥יחַ SDBH for correction יְסַדְתּֽוֹ׃ SDBH You have established them
Art thou not mikedem (from everlasting, [T.N. Also said of Moshiach, indicating Moshiach's coeternal divine nature: see Michoh 5:1[2]; see Dan 7:13-14; 3:12), Hashem Elohai (my G-d) Kedoshi (my Holy One)? We shall not die. Hashem, Thou hast appointed them for mishpat; O Tzur, Thou hast ordained them for reproof.
13
טְה֤וֹר SDBH are too pure עֵינַ֙יִם֙ SDBH Your eyes מֵרְא֣וֹת SDBH to look upon רָ֔ע SDBH evil וְהַבִּ֥יט SDBH tolerate אֶל־ . . . עָמָ֖ל SDBH wrongdoing לֹ֣א SDBH and You cannot תוּכָ֑ל SDBH . . . לָ֤מָּה SDBH So why תַבִּיט֙ SDBH do You tolerate בּֽוֹגְדִ֔ים SDBH the faithless תַּחֲרִ֕ישׁ SDBH Why are You silent בְּבַלַּ֥ע SDBH swallow up רָשָׁ֖ע SDBH while the wicked צַדִּ֥יק SDBH those more righteous מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ than themselves
Thou art of eyes of tehor (pureness), not to behold rah, and canst not look on wickedness; why lookest Thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest Thy tongue when the rasha devoureth the tzaddik, the man that is more righteous than he?
14
וַתַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה SDBH You have made אָדָ֖ם SDBH men כִּדְגֵ֣י SDBH like the fish הַיָּ֑ם SDBH of the sea כְּרֶ֖מֶשׂ SDBH like creeping things לֹא־ SDBH [that have] no מֹשֵׁ֥ל SDBH ruler בּֽוֹ׃
And makest adam as the dagim of the yam, as the creeping things, that have no moshel over them?
15
כֻּלֹּה֙ [The foe] pulls all of them בְּחַכָּ֣ה SDBH with a hook הֵֽעֲלָ֔ה SDBH up יְגֹרֵ֣הוּ SDBH he catches them בְחֶרְמ֔וֹ SDBH in his dragnet וְיַאַסְפֵ֖הוּ SDBH and gathers them בְּמִכְמַרְתּ֑וֹ SDBH in his fishing net עַל־ so כֵּ֖ן SDBH . . . יִשְׂמַ֥ח SDBH he rejoices gladly וְיָגִֽיל׃ SDBH . . .
They take up all of them with a khakkah (hook), they catch them in their net, and gather them in their dragnet; therefore they have simcha (joy) and are glad.
16
עַל־ Therefore כֵּן֙ SDBH . . . יְזַבֵּ֣חַ SDBH he sacrifices לְחֶרְמ֔וֹ SDBH to his dragnet וִֽיקַטֵּ֖ר SDBH and burns incense לְמִכְמַרְתּ֑וֹ SDBH to his fishing net כִּ֤י for בָהֵ֙מָּה֙ SDBH by these things שָׁמֵ֣ן SDBH is sumptuous חֶלְק֔וֹ SDBH his portion וּמַאֲכָל֖וֹ SDBH and his food בְּרִאָֽה׃ SDBH is rich
Therefore they make zevakhim (sacrifices) unto their net, and burn incense unto their dragnet; because by them their portion is sumptuous, and their food plenteous.
Shall they therefore empty their net, and without mercy continually slay the Goyim?
