Yechezkel 7 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

וַיְהִ֥י came דְבַר־ SDBH And the word יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֵלַ֥י to me לֵאמֹֽר׃ SDBH saying

Moreover the Devar Hashem came unto me, saying,

2

וְאַתָּ֣ה SDBH O בֶן־ SDBH son אָדָ֗ם SDBH of man כֹּה־ this is what אָמַ֞ר SDBH says אֲדֹנָ֧י SDBH the Lord יְהוִ֛ה SDBH G-D לְאַדְמַ֥ת SDBH to the land יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל SDBH of Israel קֵ֑ץ SDBH The end בָּ֣א SDBH has come הַקֵּ֔ץ SDBH The end עַל־ upon אַרְבַּעַת SDBH the four כַּנְפ֥וֹת SDBH corners הָאָֽרֶץ׃ SDBH of the land

Also, thou ben adam, thus saith Adonoi Hashem unto Eretz Yisroel: Ketz (End), the End is come upon the four corners of ha'aretz.

עַתָּה֙ SDBH is now הַקֵּ֣ץ SDBH The end עָלַ֔יִךְ upon you וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֤י SDBH and I will unleash אַפִּי֙ SDBH My anger בָּ֔ךְ against you וּשְׁפַטְתִּ֖יךְ SDBH I will judge you כִּדְרָכָ֑יִךְ SDBH according to your ways וְנָתַתִּ֣י and repay עָלַ֔יִךְ you אֵ֖ת SDBH - כָּל־ for all תּוֹעֲבֹתָֽיִךְ׃ SDBH your abominations

Now is the Ketz (End, Doom) come upon thee, and I will send Mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy drakhim, and will repay thee for all thine to'avot (abominations).

וְלֹא־ SDBH I will not תָח֥וֹס SDBH with pity עֵינִ֛י SDBH . . . עָלַ֖יִךְ look on you וְלֹ֣א SDBH nor אֶחְמ֑וֹל SDBH will I spare you כִּ֣י but I will punish you for דְרָכַ֜יִךְ SDBH your ways עָלַ֣יִךְ . . . אֶתֵּ֗ן . . . וְתוֹעֲבוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ SDBH and for the abominations בְּתוֹכֵ֣ךְ SDBH among you תִּֽהְיֶ֔יןָ - וִידַעְתֶּ֖ם SDBH Then you will know כִּֽי־ that אֲנִ֥י SDBH I יְהוָֽה׃פ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

And Mine eye shall not pity thee, neither will I spare; but I will repay thy drakhim upon thee, and thine to'avot shall be in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am Hashem.

כֹּ֥ה This is what אָמַ֖ר SDBH says אֲדֹנָ֣י SDBH the Lord יְהוִ֑ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi רָעָ֛ה SDBH Disaster אַחַ֥ת SDBH An unprecedented רָעָ֖ה SDBH disaster הִנֵּ֥ה behold בָאָֽה׃ SDBH it is coming

Thus saith Adonoi Hashem; A ra'ah, a singular ra'ah, hinei, has come.

קֵ֣ץ SDBH The end בָּ֔א SDBH has come בָּ֥א SDBH has come הַקֵּ֖ץ SDBH The end הֵקִ֣יץ SDBH It has roused itself אֵלָ֑יִךְ against you הִנֵּ֖ה Behold בָּאָֽה׃ SDBH it has come

Ketz is come, the ketz is come; it is ripe for thee; hinei, it is come.

7

בָּ֧אָה SDBH has come הַצְּפִירָ֛ה SDBH Doom אֵלֶ֖יךָ to you יוֹשֵׁ֣ב SDBH O inhabitants הָאָ֑רֶץ SDBH of the land בָּ֣א SDBH has come הָעֵ֗ת SDBH The time קָר֛וֹב SDBH is near הַיּ֥וֹם SDBH the day מְהוּמָ֖ה SDBH there is panic וְלֹא־ SDBH instead of shouts of joy הֵ֥ד SDBH . . . הָרִֽים׃ SDBH on the mountains

The Tzefirah (the Web) is come upon thee, O thou that dwellest in ha'aretz; the time is come, the Yom Mehumah (Day of Panic) is near, and not of rejoicing in the harim.

עַתָּ֣ה SDBH - מִקָּר֗וֹב SDBH Very soon אֶשְׁפּ֤וֹךְ SDBH I will pour out חֲמָתִי֙ SDBH My wrath עָלַ֔יִךְ upon you וְכִלֵּיתִ֤י SDBH and vent אַפִּי֙ SDBH My anger בָּ֔ךְ against you וּשְׁפַטְתִּ֖יךְ SDBH I will judge you כִּדְרָכָ֑יִךְ SDBH according to your ways וְנָתַתִּ֣י and repay you עָלַ֔יִךְ . . . אֵ֖ת SDBH - כָּל־ for all תּוֹעֲבוֹתָֽיִךְ׃ SDBH your abominations

Now will I shortly pour out My fury upon thee, and spend Mine anger upon thee; and I will judge thee according to thy drakhim, and will repay thee for all thine to'avot.

9

וְלֹא־ SDBH I will not תָח֥וֹס SDBH look on you with pity עֵינִ֖י SDBH . . . וְלֹ֣א SDBH nor אֶחְמ֑וֹל SDBH will I spare you כִּדְרָכַ֜יִךְ SDBH for your ways עָלַ֣יִךְ . . . אֶתֵּ֗ן but I will punish you וְתוֹעֲבוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ SDBH and for the abominations בְּתוֹכֵ֣ךְ SDBH among you תִּֽהְיֶ֔יןָ . . . וִֽידַעְתֶּ֕ם SDBH Then you will know כִּ֛י that אֲנִ֥י SDBH it is I יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi מַכֶּֽה׃ SDBH who strikes the blow

And Mine eye shall not pity, neither will I spare; I will repay thee according to thy drakhim and thine to'avot that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am Hashem that striketh.

הִנֵּ֥ה Behold הַיּ֖וֹם SDBH the day הִנֵּ֣ה is here בָאָ֑ה SDBH It has come יָֽצְאָה֙ SDBH has gone out הַצְּפִרָ֔ה SDBH Doom צָ֚ץ SDBH has bloomed הַמַּטֶּ֔ה SDBH the rod פָּרַ֖ח SDBH has budded הַזָּדֽוֹן׃ SDBH arrogance

Hinei, the Yom, hinei, it is come; The Tzefirah (Web) is gone forth; the mateh (rod) hath blossomed, zadon (pride) hath budded.

11

הֶחָמָ֥ס׀ SDBH Their violence קָ֖ם SDBH has grown לְמַטֵּה־ SDBH into a rod רֶ֑שַׁע SDBH [to punish their] wickedness לֹא־ SDBH None מֵהֶ֞ם of them [will remain] וְלֹ֧א SDBH none מֵהֲמוֹנָ֛ם SDBH of their multitude וְלֹ֥א SDBH none מֶהֱמֵהֶ֖ם SDBH of their wealth וְלֹא־ SDBH and nothing נֹ֥הַּ SDBH of value בָּהֶֽם׃

Chamas is risen up into mateh resha (a rod of wickedness); none of them shall remain, nor of their tumult, nor of any of their's; none of their preeminence.

12

בָּ֤א SDBH has come הָעֵת֙ SDBH The time הִגִּ֣יעַ SDBH has arrived הַיּ֔וֹם SDBH the day הַקּוֹנֶה֙ SDBH Let the buyer אַל־ not יִשְׂמָ֔ח SDBH rejoice וְהַמּוֹכֵ֖ר SDBH and the seller אַל־ not יִתְאַבָּ֑ל SDBH mourn כִּ֥י for חָר֖וֹן SDBH wrath אֶל־ is upon כָּל־ the whole הֲמוֹנָֽהּ׃ SDBH multitude

The time is come, the day draweth near; let not the koneh (buyer) rejoice, nor the mokher (seller) mourn; for charon (wrath) is upon all the multitude thereof.

13

כִּ֣י will surely הַמּוֹכֵ֗ר SDBH The seller אֶל־ . . . הַמִּמְכָּר֙ SDBH what he sold לֹ֣א SDBH not יָשׁ֔וּב SDBH recover וְע֥וֹד while בַּחַיִּ֖ים SDBH both remain alive חַיָּתָ֑ם SDBH . . . כִּֽי־ For חָז֤וֹן SDBH the vision אֶל־ concerning כָּל־ the whole הֲמוֹנָהּ֙ SDBH multitude לֹ֣א SDBH will not יָשׁ֔וּב SDBH be revoked וְאִ֧ישׁ SDBH not one of them בַּעֲוֺנ֛וֹ SDBH and because of their iniquity חַיָּת֖וֹ SDBH his life לֹ֥א SDBH . . . יִתְחַזָּֽקוּ׃ SDBH will preserve

For the mokher (seller) shall not return to that which is sold, as long as his life is alive; for the chazon (vision) concerns the whole multitude thereof, which shall not be reversed; neither shall any strengthen himself in the avon of his life.

14

תָּקְע֤וּ SDBH They have blown בַתָּק֙וֹעַ֙ SDBH the trumpet וְהָכִ֣ין SDBH and made הַכֹּ֔ל everything ready וְאֵ֥ין SDBH but no הֹלֵ֖ךְ SDBH one goes לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה SDBH to war כִּ֥י for חֲרוֹנִ֖י SDBH My wrath אֶל־ is upon כָּל־ the whole הֲמוֹנָֽהּ׃ SDBH multitude

They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the milchamah; for My charon (wrath) is upon all the multitude thereof.

15

הַחֶ֣רֶב SDBH The sword בַּח֔וּץ SDBH is outside וְהַדֶּ֥בֶר SDBH plague וְהָרָעָ֖ב SDBH and famine מִבָּ֑יִת SDBH are within אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH Those בַּשָּׂדֶה֙ SDBH in the country בַּחֶ֣רֶב SDBH by the sword יָמ֔וּת SDBH will die וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH and those בָּעִ֔יר SDBH in the city רָעָ֥ב SDBH by famine וָדֶ֖בֶר SDBH and plague יֹאכֲלֶֽנּוּ׃ SDBH will be devoured

The cherev is outside, and the dever and the ra'av (famine) inside; he that is in the sadeh shall die with the cherev; and he that is in the Ir, ra'av (famine) and dever shall devour him.

16

וּפָֽלְטוּ֙ SDBH will escape פְּלִ֣יטֵיהֶ֔ם SDBH The survivors וְהָי֣וּ . . . אֶל־ and live in הֶהָרִ֗ים SDBH the mountains כְּיוֹנֵ֧י SDBH like doves הַגֵּאָי֛וֹת SDBH of the valley כֻּלָּ֖ם - הֹמ֑וֹת SDBH moaning אִ֖ישׁ SDBH each בַּעֲוֺנֽוֹ׃ SDBH for his own iniquity

But they that survive of them shall escape, and shall be on the harim like doves of the ge'ayot (valleys), all of them moaning, every one for his avon.

17

כָּל־ Every הַיָּדַ֖יִם SDBH hand תִּרְפֶּ֑ינָה SDBH will go limp וְכָל־ and every בִּרְכַּ֖יִם SDBH knee תֵּלַ֥כְנָה SDBH will turn to מָּֽיִם׃ SDBH water

All hands shall go limp, and all birkayim (knees) shall be weak as mayim.

18

וְחָגְר֣וּ SDBH They will put on שַׂקִּ֔ים SDBH sackcloth וְכִסְּתָ֥ה SDBH will overwhelm them אוֹתָ֖ם SDBH - פַּלָּצ֑וּת SDBH and terror וְאֶ֤ל . . . כָּל־ will cover all פָּנִים֙ their faces בּוּשָׁ֔ה SDBH Shame וּבְכָל־ and all רָאשֵׁיהֶ֖ם SDBH their heads קָרְחָֽה׃ SDBH will be shaved

They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and terror shall cover them; and bushah (shame) shall be upon all faces, and shaved scalps [the sign of mourning] upon all their heads.

19

כַּסְפָּ֞ם SDBH their silver בַּחוּצ֣וֹת SDBH into the streets יַשְׁלִ֗יכוּ SDBH They will throw וּזְהָבָם֮ SDBH and their gold לְנִדָּ֣ה SDBH unclean יִֽהְיֶה֒ will seem כַּסְפָּ֨ם SDBH Their silver וּזְהָבָ֜ם SDBH and gold לֹֽא־ SDBH cannot יוּכַ֣ל SDBH . . . לְהַצִּילָ֗ם SDBH save them בְּיוֹם֙ SDBH in the day עֶבְרַ֣ת SDBH of the wrath יְהוָ֔ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi נַפְשָׁם֙ SDBH their appetites לֹ֣א SDBH They cannot יְשַׂבֵּ֔עוּ SDBH satisfy וּמֵעֵיהֶ֖ם SDBH their stomachs with [wealth] לֹ֣א SDBH . . . יְמַלֵּ֑אוּ SDBH or fill כִּֽי־ for מִכְשׁ֥וֹל SDBH the stumbling block עֲוֺנָ֖ם SDBH that brought their iniquity הָיָֽה׃ it became

They shall cast their kesef in the streets, and their zahav shall be like niddah; their kesef and their zahav shall not be able to save them in the Yom Evrat Hashem (Day of the Wrath of Hashem); they shall not satisfy their nefashot, neither fill their stomachs; for it has become the stumbling block of their avon.

20

וּצְבִ֤י SDBH His beautiful עֶדְיוֹ֙ SDBH ornaments לְגָא֣וֹן SDBH into pride שָׂמָ֔הוּ SDBH they transformed וְצַלְמֵ֧י SDBH images תוֹעֲבֹתָ֛ם SDBH their vile שִׁקּוּצֵיהֶ֖ם SDBH and detestable idols עָ֣שׂוּ SDBH to fashion ב֑וֹ and used them עַל־ Therefore כֵּ֛ן SDBH . . . נְתַתִּ֥יו I will make these לָהֶ֖ם for them לְנִדָּֽה׃ SDBH into something unclean

As for the beauty of his jewelry, he set it in ga'on (pride); but they made the tzelem of their to'avot and of their shikkutzim therein; therefore I will make it like niddah to them.

21

וּנְתַתִּ֤יו And I will hand these things over בְּיַֽד־ SDBH . . . הַזָּרִים֙ SDBH to foreigners לָבַ֔ז SDBH as plunder וּלְרִשְׁעֵ֥י SDBH to the wicked הָאָ֖רֶץ SDBH of the earth לְשָׁלָ֑ל SDBH and loot וְחִלְּלֻהָ׃ SDBH who will defile them

And I will give it into the hands of the zarim (strangers) for plunder, and to the resha'im of ha'aretz for loot; and they shall defile it.

22

וַהֲסִבּוֹתִ֤י SDBH I will turn פָנַי֙ My face מֵהֶ֔ם away from them וְחִלְּל֖וּ SDBH and they will defile אֶת־ SDBH - צְפוּנִ֑י SDBH My treasured place וּבָאוּ־ SDBH will enter בָ֥הּ it פָּרִיצִ֖ים SDBH Violent men וְחִלְּלֽוּהָ׃פ SDBH and they will defile it

My face will I turn also from them, and they shall desecrate My treasure; for the robbers shall enter into it [i.e., Yerushalayim], and defile it.

23

עֲשֵׂ֖ה SDBH Forge הָֽרַתּ֑וֹק SDBH the chain כִּ֣י for הָאָ֗רֶץ SDBH the land מָֽלְאָה֙ SDBH is full מִשְׁפַּ֣ט SDBH of crimes דָּמִ֔ים SDBH of bloodshed וְהָעִ֖יר SDBH and the city מָלְאָ֥ה SDBH is full חָמָֽס׃ SDBH of violence

Make a chain; for ha'aretz is full of mishpat damim, and the ir is full of chamas.

24

וְהֵֽבֵאתִי֙ SDBH So I will bring רָעֵ֣י SDBH the most wicked גוֹיִ֔ם SDBH of nations וְיָרְשׁ֖וּ SDBH to take possession of אֶת־ SDBH - בָּֽתֵּיהֶ֑ם SDBH their houses וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי֙ SDBH I will end גְּא֣וֹן SDBH the pride עַזִּ֔ים SDBH of the mighty וְנִחֲל֖וּ SDBH will be profaned מְקַֽדְשֵׁיהֶֽם׃ SDBH and their holy places

Therefore I will bring the worst of the Goyim, and they shall possess their batim (houses); I will also make the ga'on (pride) of the mighty to cease; and their mikdashim (holy places) shall be defiled.

25

קְפָ֖דָה־ SDBH Anguish בָ֑א SDBH is coming וּבִקְשׁ֥וּ SDBH They will seek שָׁל֖וֹם SDBH peace וָאָֽיִן׃ SDBH but find none

Terror cometh; and they shall seek shalom, and there shall be none.

26

הֹוָ֤ה SDBH Disaster עַל־ upon הֹוָה֙ SDBH disaster תָּב֔וֹא SDBH will come וּשְׁמֻעָ֥ה SDBH rumor אֶל־ after שְׁמוּעָ֖ה SDBH rumor תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה and וּבִקְשׁ֤וּ SDBH Then they will seek חָזוֹן֙ SDBH a vision מִנָּבִ֔יא SDBH from a prophet וְתוֹרָה֙ SDBH but instruction תֹּאבַ֣ד SDBH will perish מִכֹּהֵ֔ן SDBH from the priests וְעֵצָ֖ה SDBH as will counsel מִזְּקֵנִֽים׃ SDBH from the elders

Disaster shall come upon disaster, and rumor shall be upon rumor; then shall they seek a chazon (vision) from the navi; but the torah shall perish from the kohen, and etzah from the zekenim (elders).

27

הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ SDBH The king יִתְאַבָּ֗ל SDBH will mourn וְנָשִׂיא֙ SDBH the prince יִלְבַּ֣שׁ SDBH will be clothed שְׁמָמָ֔ה SDBH with despair וִידֵ֥י SDBH and the hands עַם־ SDBH of the people הָאָ֖רֶץ SDBH of the land תִּבָּהַ֑לְנָה SDBH will tremble מִדַּרְכָּ֞ם SDBH according to their conduct אֶעֱשֶׂ֤ה SDBH I will deal אוֹתָם֙ SDBH with them וּבְמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶ֣ם SDBH by their own standards אֶשְׁפְּטֵ֔ם SDBH and I will judge them וְיָדְע֖וּ SDBH Then they will know כִּֽי־ that אֲנִ֥י SDBH I יְהוָֽה׃פ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

HaMelech shall mourn, and the nasi shall be clothed with despair, and the hands of the am ha'aretz shall fearfully tremble; I will do unto them according to their derech, and according to their mishpatim will I judge them; and they shall know that I am Hashem.
