Yechezkel 37 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

הָיְתָ֣ה was עָלַי֮ upon me יַד־ SDBH The hand יְהוָה֒ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וַיּוֹצִאֵ֤נִי SDBH and He brought me out בְר֙וּחַ֙ SDBH Spirit יְהוָ֔ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וַיְנִיחֵ֖נִי SDBH and set me down בְּת֣וֹךְ SDBH in the middle הַבִּקְעָ֑ה SDBH of the valley וְהִ֖יא SDBH and it [was] מְלֵאָ֥ה SDBH full of עֲצָמֽוֹת׃ SDBH bones

The Yad Hashem was upon me, and carried me out in the Ruach [Hakodesh] of Hashem, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of atzmot,

וְהֶעֱבִירַ֥נִי SDBH He led me עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם among them סָבִ֣יב׀ all סָבִ֑יב around וְהִנֵּ֨ה and I saw רַבּ֤וֹת SDBH many [bones] מְאֹד֙ a great עַל־ on פְּנֵ֣י the floor הַבִּקְעָ֔ה SDBH of the valley וְהִנֵּ֖ה and indeed יְבֵשׁ֥וֹת SDBH dry מְאֹֽד׃ they were very

And caused me to pass by them round about; and, hinei, there were rabbot me'od in the open valley; and, hinei, they were very dry.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר SDBH Then He asked אֵלַ֔י me בֶּן־ SDBH Son אָדָ֕ם SDBH of man הֲתִחְיֶ֖ינָה SDBH come to life הָעֲצָמ֣וֹת SDBH bones הָאֵ֑לֶּה SDBH can these וָאֹמַ֕ר SDBH I replied אֲדֹנָ֥י SDBH O Lord יְהוִ֖ה SDBH G-D אַתָּ֥ה SDBH only You יָדָֽעְתָּ׃ SDBH know

And He said unto me, Ben Adam, can these atzmot live? And I answered, Adonoi Hashem, Thou knowest.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר SDBH And He said אֵלַ֔י to me הִנָּבֵ֖א SDBH Prophesy עַל־ concerning הָעֲצָמ֣וֹת SDBH bones הָאֵ֑לֶּה SDBH these וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ SDBH and tell אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם them הָעֲצָמוֹת֙ SDBH bones הַיְבֵשׁ֔וֹת SDBH Dry שִׁמְע֖וּ SDBH hear דְּבַר־ SDBH the word יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

Again He said unto me, Prophesy upon these atzmot, and say unto them, O ye atzmot hayeveshot, hear the Devar Hashem.

כֹּ֤ה This is what אָמַר֙ SDBH says אֲדֹנָ֣י SDBH the Lord יְהוִ֔ה SDBH G-D לָעֲצָמ֖וֹת SDBH bones הָאֵ֑לֶּה SDBH to these הִנֵּ֨ה . . . אֲנִ֜י SDBH I מֵבִ֥יא SDBH to enter בָכֶ֛ם you ר֖וּחַ SDBH will cause breath וִחְיִיתֶֽם׃ SDBH and you will come to life

Thus saith Adonoi Hashem unto these atzmot: Hinei, I will cause ruach to enter into you, and ye shall live;

וְנָתַתִּי֩ I will attach עֲלֵיכֶ֨ם to you גִּדִ֜ים SDBH tendons וְֽהַעֲלֵתִ֧י SDBH grow עֲלֵיכֶ֣ם upon you בָּשָׂ֗ר SDBH and make flesh וְקָרַמְתִּ֤י SDBH and cover עֲלֵיכֶם֙ you ע֔וֹר SDBH with skin וְנָתַתִּ֥י I will put בָכֶ֛ם within you ר֖וּחַ SDBH breath וִחְיִיתֶ֑ם SDBH so that you will come to life וִידַעְתֶּ֖ם SDBH Then you will know כִּֽי־ that אֲנִ֥י SDBH I יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

And I will lay gidim (sinews, tendons) upon you, and will bring up basar upon you, and cover you with ohr (skin), and put ruach in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall have da'as that I am Hashem.

וְנִבֵּ֖אתִי SDBH So I prophesied כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH as צֻוֵּ֑יתִי SDBH I had been commanded וַֽיְהִי־ there was ק֤וֹל SDBH a noise כְּהִנָּֽבְאִי֙ SDBH And as I prophesied וְהִנֵּה־ suddenly רַ֔עַשׁ SDBH a rattling וַתִּקְרְב֣וּ SDBH came together עֲצָמ֔וֹת SDBH and the bones עֶ֖צֶם SDBH bone אֶל־ to עַצְמֽוֹ׃ SDBH bone

So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and hinei a rattling, and the atzmot came together, etzem to its etzem.

וְרָאִ֜יתִי SDBH As I looked on וְהִנֵּֽה־ appeared עֲלֵיהֶ֤ם on them גִּדִים֙ SDBH tendons וּבָשָׂ֣ר SDBH flesh עָלָ֔ה SDBH grew וַיִּקְרַ֧ם SDBH covered them עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם . . . ע֖וֹר SDBH and skin מִלְמָ֑עְלָה SDBH . . . וְר֖וּחַ SDBH breath אֵ֥ין SDBH but there was no בָּהֶֽם׃ in them

And when I beheld, hinei, the gidim and the basar came up upon them, and the ohr covered them above; but there was no ruach in them.

9

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר SDBH Then He said אֵלַ֔י to me הִנָּבֵ֖א SDBH Prophesy אֶל־ to הָר֑וּחַ SDBH the breath הִנָּבֵ֣א SDBH prophesy בֶן־ SDBH son אָ֠דָם SDBH of man וְאָמַרְתָּ֨ SDBH and tell אֶל־ . . . הָר֜וּחַ SDBH the breath כֹּֽה־ that this is what אָמַ֣ר׀ SDBH says אֲדֹנָ֣י SDBH the Lord יְהוִ֗ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi מֵאַרְבַּ֤ע SDBH from the four רוּחוֹת֙ SDBH O breath בֹּ֣אִי SDBH Come הָר֔וּחַ SDBH winds וּפְחִ֛י SDBH and breathe בַּהֲרוּגִ֥ים SDBH slain הָאֵ֖לֶּה SDBH into these וְיִֽחְיֽוּ׃ SDBH so that they may live

Then said He unto me, Prophesy unto the ruach; prophesy, Ben Adam, and say to the ruach, Thus saith Adonoi Hashem: Come from the arba ruchot, O ruach, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10

וְהִנַּבֵּ֖אתִי SDBH So I prophesied כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH as צִוָּ֑נִי SDBH He had commanded me וַתָּבוֹא֩ SDBH entered בָהֶ֨ם them הָר֜וּחַ SDBH and the breath וַיִּֽחְי֗וּ SDBH and they came to life וַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙ SDBH and stood עַל־ on רַגְלֵיהֶ֔ם SDBH their feet חַ֖יִל SDBH army גָּד֥וֹל SDBH a vast מְאֹד־ . . . מְאֹֽד׃ס . . .

So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the ruach came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their raglayim, a chayil gadol me'od me'od.

11

וַיֹּאמֶר֮ SDBH Then He said אֵלַי֒ to me בֶּן־ SDBH Son אָדָ֕ם SDBH of man הָעֲצָמ֣וֹת SDBH bones הָאֵ֔לֶּה SDBH these כָּל־ are the whole בֵּ֥ית SDBH house יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל SDBH of Israel הֵ֑מָּה SDBH they הִנֵּ֣ה Look אֹמְרִ֗ים SDBH are saying יָבְשׁ֧וּ SDBH are dried up עַצְמוֹתֵ֛ינוּ SDBH Our bones וְאָבְדָ֥ה SDBH has perished תִקְוָתֵ֖נוּ SDBH and our hope נִגְזַ֥רְנוּ SDBH we are cut off לָֽנוּ׃

Then He said unto me, Ben Adam, these atzmot are the kol Bais Yisroel. Hinei, they say, Our atzmot are dried up, and tikvateinu (our hope) is gone; nigzarnu lanu (we are cut off).

לָכֵן֩ SDBH Therefore הִנָּבֵ֨א SDBH prophesy וְאָמַרְתָּ֜ SDBH and tell אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם them כֹּֽה־ that this is what אָמַר֮ SDBH says אֲדֹנָ֣י SDBH the Lord יְהוִה֒ SDBH G-D הִנֵּה֩ O אֲנִ֨י SDBH I פֹתֵ֜חַ SDBH will open אֶת־ SDBH - קִבְרֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם SDBH your graves וְהַעֲלֵיתִ֥י SDBH and bring you up אֶתְכֶ֛ם SDBH from מִקִּבְרוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם SDBH them עַמִּ֑י SDBH My people וְהֵבֵאתִ֥י SDBH and I will bring you back אֶתְכֶ֖ם SDBH - אֶל־ to אַדְמַ֥ת SDBH the land יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס SDBH of Israel

Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith Adonoi Hashem: Hinei, O My people, I will open your keverot, and cause you to come up out of your keverot, and bring you into Admat Yisroel (the Land of Israel).

וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם SDBH will know כִּֽי־ that אֲנִ֣י SDBH I יְהוָ֑ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi בְּפִתְחִ֣י SDBH when I open אֶת־ SDBH - קִבְרֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם SDBH your graves וּבְהַעֲלוֹתִ֥י SDBH and bring you up אֶתְכֶ֛ם SDBH - מִקִּבְרוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם SDBH from them עַמִּֽי׃ SDBH Then you, My people

And ye shall know that I am Hashem, when I have opened your keverot, O My people, and brought you up out of your keverot,

14

וְנָתַתִּ֨י I will put רוּחִ֤י SDBH My Spirit בָכֶם֙ in you וִחְיִיתֶ֔ם SDBH and you will live וְהִנַּחְתִּ֥י SDBH and I will settle אֶתְכֶ֖ם SDBH you עַל־ in אַדְמַתְכֶ֑ם SDBH your own land וִידַעְתֶּ֞ם SDBH Then you will know כִּי־ that אֲנִ֧י SDBH I יְהוָ֛ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi דִּבַּ֥רְתִּי SDBH have spoken וְעָשִׂ֖יתִי SDBH and I will do it נְאֻם־ SDBH declares יְהוָֽה׃פ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

And shall put My Ruach in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land; then shall ye know that I Hashem have spoken it, and performed it, saith Hashem.

15

וַיְהִ֥י came דְבַר־ SDBH Again the word יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֵלַ֥י to me לֵאמֹֽר׃ SDBH saying

The Devar Hashem came again unto me, saying,

16

וְאַתָּ֣ה SDBH And you בֶן־ SDBH son אָדָ֗ם SDBH of man קַח־ SDBH take לְךָ֙ עֵ֣ץ SDBH stick אֶחָ֔ד SDBH a single וּכְתֹ֤ב SDBH and write עָלָיו֙ on it לִֽיהוּדָ֔ה SDBH Belonging to Judah וְלִבְנֵ֥י SDBH and to the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל SDBH . . . חֲבֵרוֹ SDBH associated with him וּלְקַח֙ SDBH Then take עֵ֣ץ SDBH stick אֶחָ֔ד SDBH another וּכְת֣וֹב SDBH and write עָלָ֗יו on it לְיוֹסֵף֙ SDBH Belonging to Joseph עֵ֣ץ SDBH the stick אֶפְרַ֔יִם SDBH of Ephraim וְכָל־ and to all בֵּ֥ית SDBH the house יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל SDBH of Israel חֲבֵרוֹ׃ SDBH associated with him

Moreover, thou ben adam, take thee Etz Echad, and write upon it, For Yehudah, and for the Bnei Yisroel his chaverim; then take another Etz Echad, and write upon it, For Yosef, the Etz Ephrayim and for kol Bais Yisroel his chaverim;

17

וְקָרַ֨ב SDBH Then join אֹתָ֜ם SDBH them אֶחָ֧ד SDBH together אֶל־ . . . אֶחָ֛ד SDBH . . . לְךָ֖ לְעֵ֣ץ SDBH stick אֶחָ֑ד SDBH into one וְהָי֥וּ so that they become לַאֲחָדִ֖ים SDBH one בְּיָדֶֽךָ׃ SDBH in your hand

And join them one to another into Etz Echad; and they shall become achadim (one) in thine yad.

18

וְכַֽאֲשֶׁר֙ SDBH When יֹאמְר֣וּ SDBH ask אֵלֶ֔יךָ you בְּנֵ֥י SDBH your people עַמְּךָ֖ SDBH . . . לֵאמֹ֑ר SDBH . . . הֲלֽוֹא־ SDBH Won’t תַגִּ֥יד SDBH you explain לָ֖נוּ to us מָה־ SDBH what אֵ֥לֶּה SDBH these לָּֽךְ׃ you [mean] by

And when the Bnei Amecha speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not show us what thou meanest by these?

19

דַּבֵּ֣ר SDBH you are to tell אֲלֵהֶ֗ם them כֹּֽה־ that this is what אָמַר֮ SDBH says אֲדֹנָ֣י SDBH the Lord יְהוִה֒ SDBH G-D הִנֵּה֩ . . . אֲנִ֨י SDBH I לֹקֵ֜חַ SDBH will take אֶת־ SDBH - עֵ֤ץ SDBH the stick יוֹסֵף֙ SDBH of Joseph אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH which בְּיַד־ SDBH is in the hand אֶפְרַ֔יִם SDBH of Ephraim וְשִׁבְטֵ֥י SDBH and the tribes יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל SDBH of Israel חֲבֵרוֹ SDBH associated with him וְנָתַתִּי֩ and I will put אוֹתָ֨ם SDBH them עָלָ֜יו together with אֶת־ SDBH - עֵ֣ץ SDBH the stick יְהוּדָ֗ה SDBH of Judah וַֽעֲשִׂיתִם֙ SDBH I will make them לְעֵ֣ץ SDBH stick אֶחָ֔ד SDBH into a single וְהָי֥וּ and they will become אֶחָ֖ד SDBH one בְּיָדִֽי׃ SDBH in My hand

Say unto them, Thus saith Adonoi Hashem: Hinei, I will take the Etz Yosef, which is in the Yad Ephrayim, and the Shivtei Yisroel his chaverim, and will put them with him, even with the Etz Yehudah, and make them Etz Echad, and they shall be Echad in Mine Yad.

20

וְהָי֨וּ are הָעֵצִ֜ים SDBH When the sticks אֲ‍ֽשֶׁר־ SDBH on which תִּכְתֹּ֧ב SDBH you write עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם בְּיָדְךָ֖ SDBH in your hand לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃ SDBH and in full view of the people

And the Etzim whereon thou writest shall be in thine yad before their eyes.

21

וְדַבֵּ֣ר SDBH you are to tell אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם them כֹּֽה־ that this is what אָמַר֮ SDBH says אֲדֹנָ֣י SDBH the Lord יְהוִה֒ SDBH G-D הִנֵּ֨ה . . . אֲנִ֤י SDBH I לֹקֵ֙חַ֙ SDBH will take אֶת־ SDBH - בְּנֵ֣י SDBH the Israelites יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל SDBH . . . מִבֵּ֥ין SDBH out of הַגּוֹיִ֖ם SDBH the nations אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH to which הָֽלְכוּ־ SDBH they have gone שָׁ֑ם SDBH . . . וְקִבַּצְתִּ֤י SDBH and I will gather them אֹתָם֙ SDBH from מִסָּבִ֔יב all around וְהֵבֵאתִ֥י SDBH and bring אוֹתָ֖ם SDBH them אֶל־ into אַדְמָתָֽם׃ SDBH their own land

And say unto them, Thus saith Adonoi Hashem: Hinei, I will take the Bnei Yisroel from among the Goyim, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land;

22

וְעָשִׂ֣יתִי SDBH I will make אֹ֠תָם SDBH them לְג֨וֹי SDBH nation אֶחָ֤ד SDBH one בָּאָ֙רֶץ֙ SDBH in the land בְּהָרֵ֣י SDBH on the mountains יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל SDBH of Israel וּמֶ֧לֶךְ SDBH king אֶחָ֛ד SDBH and one יִֽהְיֶ֥ה will rule over לְכֻלָּ֖ם all of them לְמֶ֑לֶךְ SDBH . . . וְלֹ֤א SDBH Then they will no יִהְיֶה be עוֹד֙ . . . לִשְׁנֵ֣י SDBH two גוֹיִ֔ם SDBH nations וְלֹ֨א SDBH and will never יֵחָ֥צוּ SDBH be divided ע֛וֹד longer לִשְׁתֵּ֥י SDBH into two מַמְלָכ֖וֹת SDBH kingdoms עֽוֹד׃ again

And I will make them Goy Echad in the land upon the mountains of Yisroel; and Melech Echad shall be Melech to them all; and they shall be no more two Goyim, neither shall they be divided into two Mamlachot any more at all.

23

וְלֹ֧א SDBH They will no יִֽטַמְּא֣וּ SDBH defile themselves ע֗וֹד longer בְּגִלּֽוּלֵיהֶם֙ SDBH with their idols וּבְשִׁקּ֣וּצֵיהֶ֔ם SDBH or detestable images וּבְכֹ֖ל or with any פִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֑ם SDBH of their transgressions וְהוֹשַׁעְתִּ֣י SDBH I will save אֹתָ֗ם SDBH them מִכֹּ֤ל from all מוֹשְׁבֹֽתֵיהֶם֙ SDBH their apostasies אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH by which חָטְא֣וּ SDBH they sinned בָהֶ֔ם וְטִהַרְתִּ֤י SDBH and I will cleanse them אוֹתָם֙ SDBH - וְהָיוּ־ Then they will be לִ֣י My לְעָ֔ם SDBH people וַאֲנִ֕י SDBH and I אֶהְיֶ֥ה will be לָהֶ֖ם their לֵאלֹהִֽים׃ SDBH G-d

Neither shall they make themselves tameh any more with their gillulim, nor with their shikkutzim, nor with any of their peysha'im; but I will save them out of all their moshavot wherein they have sinned, and will make them tahor; so shall they be My people, and I will be their Elohim.

24

וְעַבְדִּ֤י SDBH My servant דָוִד֙ SDBH David מֶ֣לֶךְ SDBH will be king עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם over them וְרוֹעֶ֥ה SDBH shepherd אֶחָ֖ד SDBH one יִהְיֶ֣ה and there will be לְכֻלָּ֑ם for all of them וּבְמִשְׁפָּטַ֣י SDBH My ordinances יֵלֵ֔כוּ SDBH They will follow וְחֻקֹּתַ֥י SDBH My statutes יִשְׁמְר֖וּ SDBH and keep וְעָשׂ֥וּ SDBH and observe אוֹתָֽם׃ SDBH -

And Avdi Dovid [Moshiach] shall be Melech over them; and they all shall have Ro'eh Echad; they shall also walk in My mishpatim, and observe My chukkot, and do them.

25

וְיָשְׁב֣וּ SDBH They will live עַל־ in הָאָ֗רֶץ SDBH the land אֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH that נָתַ֙תִּי֙ I gave לְעַבְדִּ֣י SDBH to My servant לְיַֽעֲקֹ֔ב SDBH Jacob אֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH where יָֽשְׁבוּ־ SDBH lived בָ֖הּ אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם SDBH your fathers וְיָשְׁב֣וּ SDBH They will live עָלֶ֡יהָ there הֵ֠מָּה SDBH . . . וּבְנֵיהֶ֞ם SDBH with their children וּבְנֵ֤י SDBH and grandchildren בְנֵיהֶם֙ SDBH . . . עַד־ SDBH forever עוֹלָ֔ם SDBH . . . וְדָוִ֣ד SDBH David עַבְדִּ֔י SDBH and My servant נָשִׂ֥יא SDBH will be their prince לָהֶ֖ם לְעוֹלָֽם׃ SDBH forever

And they shall dwell in HaAretz that I have given unto Avdi Ya'akov, wherein your Avot have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their banim, and their bnei banim ad olam; and Dovid Avdi [Moshiach] shall be their Nasi l'olam.

26

וְכָרַתִּ֤י SDBH And I will make לָהֶם֙ with them בְּרִ֣ית SDBH a covenant שָׁל֔וֹם SDBH of peace בְּרִ֥ית SDBH covenant עוֹלָ֖ם SDBH an everlasting יִהְיֶ֣ה it will be אוֹתָ֑ם SDBH . . . וּנְתַתִּים֙ I will establish them וְהִרְבֵּיתִ֣י and multiply אוֹתָ֔ם SDBH them וְנָתַתִּ֧י and I will set אֶת־ SDBH - מִקְדָּשִׁ֛י SDBH My sanctuary בְּתוֹכָ֖ם SDBH among them לְעוֹלָֽם׃ SDBH forever

Moreover I will make a Brit Shalom with them; it shall be a Brit Olam with them; and I will establish them, and multiply them, and will set My Mikdash in the midst of them l'olam.

27

וְהָיָ֤ה will be מִשְׁכָּנִי֙ SDBH My dwelling place עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם with them וְהָיִ֥יתִי I will be לָהֶ֖ם their לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים SDBH G-d וְהֵ֖מָּה SDBH and they יִֽהְיוּ־ will be לִ֥י My לְעָֽם׃ SDBH people

My Mishkan also shall be with them; yes, I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.

28

וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ SDBH will know הַגּוֹיִ֔ם SDBH Then the nations כִּ֚י that אֲנִ֣י SDBH I יְהוָ֔ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi מְקַדֵּ֖שׁ SDBH sanctify אֶת־ SDBH - יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל SDBH Israel בִּהְי֧וֹת is מִקְדָּשִׁ֛י SDBH when My sanctuary בְּתוֹכָ֖ם SDBH among them לְעוֹלָֽם׃ס SDBH forever

And the Goyim shall know that I Hashem set apart as kodesh Yisroel, when My Mikdash shall be in the midst of them l'olam (forever).
