Amos 9 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

רָאִ֨יתִי SDBH I saw אֶת־ SDBH - אֲדֹנָ֜י SDBH the Lord נִצָּ֣ב SDBH standing עַֽל־ beside הַמִּזְבֵּ֗חַ SDBH the altar וַיֹּאמֶר֩ SDBH and He said הַ֨ךְ SDBH Strike הַכַּפְתּ֜וֹר SDBH the tops of the pillars וְיִרְעֲשׁ֣וּ SDBH shake הַסִּפִּ֗ים SDBH so that the thresholds וּבְצַ֙עַם֙ SDBH Topple them בְּרֹ֣אשׁ SDBH on the heads כֻּלָּ֔ם of all the people וְאַחֲרִיתָ֖ם SDBH the rest בַּחֶ֣רֶב SDBH with the sword אֶהֱרֹ֑ג SDBH and I will kill לֹֽא־ SDBH None יָנ֤וּס SDBH of those who flee לָהֶם֙ נָ֔ס SDBH will get away וְלֹֽא־ SDBH none יִמָּלֵ֥ט SDBH will escape לָהֶ֖ם פָּלִֽיט׃ SDBH of the fugitives

I saw Adonoi standing by the mizbe'ach; and He said, Strike the pillar capitals [of the heathen shrine], that the thresholds may shake; and smash them upon the heads of all; and I will slay the last of them with the cherev; he that fleeth of them shall not get away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered.

אִם־ SDBH Though יַחְתְּר֣וּ SDBH they dig down בִשְׁא֔וֹל SDBH to Sheol מִשָּׁ֖ם SDBH from there יָדִ֣י SDBH My hand תִקָּחֵ֑ם SDBH will take them וְאִֽם־ SDBH and though יַעֲלוּ֙ SDBH they climb up הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם SDBH to heaven מִשָּׁ֖ם SDBH from there אוֹרִידֵֽם׃ SDBH I will pull them down

Though they dig down to Sheol, thence shall Mine hand take them; though they climb up to Shomayim, thence will I bring them down;

וְאִם־ SDBH Though יֵחָֽבְאוּ֙ SDBH they hide themselves בְּרֹ֣אשׁ SDBH atop הַכַּרְמֶ֔ל SDBH Carmel מִשָּׁ֥ם SDBH there אֲחַפֵּ֖שׂ SDBH I will track them וּלְקַחְתִּ֑ים SDBH and seize them וְאִם־ SDBH and though יִסָּ֨תְר֜וּ SDBH they hide מִנֶּ֤גֶד from עֵינַי֙ SDBH Me בְּקַרְקַ֣ע SDBH at the bottom of הַיָּ֔ם SDBH the sea מִשָּׁ֛ם SDBH there אֲצַוֶּ֥ה SDBH I will command אֶת־ SDBH - הַנָּחָ֖שׁ SDBH the serpent וּנְשָׁכָֽם׃ SDBH to bite them

And though they hide themselves in the summit of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from My sight in the bottom of the yam, thence will I command the nachash, and he shall bite them;

וְאִם־ SDBH Though יֵלְכ֤וּ SDBH they are driven בַשְּׁבִי֙ SDBH into captivity לִפְנֵ֣י by אֹֽיבֵיהֶ֔ם SDBH their enemies מִשָּׁ֛ם SDBH there אֲצַוֶּ֥ה SDBH I will command אֶת־ SDBH - הַחֶ֖רֶב SDBH the sword וַהֲרָגָ֑תַם SDBH to slay them וְשַׂמְתִּ֨י SDBH I will fix עֵינִ֧י SDBH My eyes עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם upon them לְרָעָ֖ה SDBH for harm וְלֹ֥א SDBH and not לְטוֹבָֽה׃ SDBH for good

And though they go into golus (exile) before their enemies, thence will I command the cherev, and it shall slay them; and I will set Mine eyes upon them for rah, and not for tov.

וַאדֹנָ֨י SDBH The Lord יְהוִ֜ה SDBH G-D הַצְּבָא֗וֹת SDBH of Hosts הַנּוֹגֵ֤עַ SDBH He who touches בָּאָ֙רֶץ֙ SDBH the earth וַתָּמ֔וֹג SDBH and it melts וְאָבְל֖וּ SDBH mourn כָּל־ and all י֣וֹשְׁבֵי SDBH its dwellers בָ֑הּ וְעָלְתָ֤ה SDBH rises כַיְאֹר֙ SDBH like the Nile כֻּלָּ֔הּ all [the land] וְשָׁקְעָ֖ה SDBH then sinks כִּיאֹ֥ר SDBH like the river מִצְרָֽיִם SDBH of Egypt

And Adonoi Hashem HaTzva'os is He that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn; and it shall rise up wholly like the Nile; and sink like the Nile of Mitzrayim.

הַבּוֹנֶ֤ה SDBH He builds בַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ SDBH in the heavens מַעֲלוֹתוֹ SDBH His upper rooms וַאֲגֻדָּת֖וֹ SDBH His vault עַל־ upon אֶ֣רֶץ SDBH the earth יְסָדָ֑הּ SDBH and founds הַקֹּרֵ֣א SDBH He summons לְמֵֽי־ SDBH the waters הַיָּ֗ם SDBH of the sea וַֽיִּשְׁפְּכֵ֛ם SDBH and pours them עַל־ over פְּנֵ֥י the face הָאָ֖רֶץ SDBH of the earth יְהוָ֥ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi שְׁמֽוֹ׃ SDBH is His name

It is He that buildeth his ma'alot (stairs) in Shomayim, and hath founded His aguddah (fitted together vault) over Eretz; He that calleth for the waters of the yam, and poureth them out upon the face of ha'aretz; Hashem Shmo.

הֲל֣וֹא SDBH Are you not כִבְנֵי֩ SDBH vvv כֻשִׁיִּ֨ים SDBH like the Cushites אַתֶּ֥ם SDBH . . . לִ֛י to Me בְּנֵ֥י SDBH O children יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל SDBH of Israel נְאֻם־ SDBH declares יְהוָ֑ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi הֲל֣וֹא SDBH Did I not אֶת־ SDBH - יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל SDBH Israel הֶעֱלֵ֙יתִי֙ SDBH bring מֵאֶ֣רֶץ SDBH up from the land מִצְרַ֔יִם SDBH of Egypt וּפְלִשְׁתִּיִּ֥ים SDBH the Philistines מִכַּפְתּ֖וֹר SDBH from Caphtor וַאֲרָ֥ם SDBH and the Arameans מִקִּֽיר׃ SDBH from Kir

Are ye not as children of Ethiopia unto Me, O Bnai Yisroel? saith Hashem. Have not I brought up Yisroel out of Eretz Mitzrayim? And the Pelishtim (Philistines) from Caphtor, and Aram from Kir?

הִנֵּ֞ה Surely עֵינֵ֣י׀ SDBH the eyes אֲדֹנָ֣י SDBH of the Lord יְהוִ֗ה SDBH G-D בַּמַּמְלָכָה֙ SDBH kingdom הַֽחַטָּאָ֔ה SDBH are on the sinful וְהִשְׁמַדְתִּ֣י SDBH and I will destroy אֹתָ֔הּ SDBH it מֵעַ֖ל from פְּנֵ֣י the face הָאֲדָמָ֑ה SDBH of the earth אֶ֗פֶס SDBH כִּ֠י Yet לֹ֣א SDBH I will not הַשְׁמֵ֥יד SDBH utterly destroy אַשְׁמִ֛יד SDBH . . . אֶת־ SDBH - בֵּ֥ית SDBH the house יַעֲקֹ֖ב SDBH of Jacob נְאֻם־ SDBH declares יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

Hinei, the eyes of Adonoi Hashem are upon the mamlachah hachatta'ah, and I will destroy it from off the face of ha'aretz; nevertheless I will not utterly destroy Bais Yaakov, saith Hashem.

כִּֽי־ For הִנֵּ֤ה surely אָֽנֹכִי֙ SDBH I מְצַוֶּ֔ה SDBH will give the command וַהֲנִע֥וֹתִי SDBH and I will shake בְכָֽל־ among all הַגּוֹיִ֖ם SDBH the nations אֶת־ SDBH - בֵּ֣ית SDBH the house יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל SDBH of Israel כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH as יִנּ֙וֹעַ֙ SDBH [grain] is sifted בַּכְּבָרָ֔ה SDBH in a sieve וְלֹֽא־ SDBH but not יִפּ֥וֹל SDBH will reach צְר֖וֹר SDBH a pebble אָֽרֶץ׃ SDBH the ground

For, hinei, I will command, and I will sift Bais Yisroel among all Goyim, like as grain is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon ha'aretz.

בַּחֶ֣רֶב SDBH by the sword יָמ֔וּתוּ SDBH will die כֹּ֖ל All חַטָּאֵ֣י SDBH the sinners עַמִּ֑י SDBH among My people הָאֹמְרִ֗ים SDBH all those who say לֹֽא־ SDBH will never תַגִּ֧ישׁ SDBH draw near וְתַקְדִּ֛ים SDBH or confront בַּעֲדֵ֖ינוּ SDBH us הָרָעָֽה׃ SDBH Disaster

All the chatta'ei ami (sinners of My people) shall die by the cherev, which say, the ra'ah shall not overtake nor come to us.

בַּיּ֣וֹם SDBH day הַה֔וּא SDBH In that אָקִ֛ים SDBH I will restore אֶת־ SDBH - סֻכַּ֥ת SDBH tent דָּוִ֖יד SDBH of David הַנֹּפֶ֑לֶת SDBH the fallen וְגָדַרְתִּ֣י SDBH I will repair אֶת־ SDBH - פִּרְצֵיהֶ֗ן SDBH its gaps וַהֲרִֽסֹתָיו֙ SDBH its ruins אָקִ֔ים SDBH restore וּבְנִיתִ֖יהָ SDBH and rebuild כִּימֵ֥י SDBH it as in the days עוֹלָֽם׃ SDBH of old

In that Yom will I raise up the Sukkat Dovid that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the yamei olam;

לְמַ֨עַן that יִֽירְשׁ֜וּ SDBH they may possess אֶת־ SDBH - שְׁאֵרִ֤ית SDBH the remnant אֱדוֹם֙ SDBH of Edom וְכָל־ and all הַגּוֹיִ֔ם SDBH the nations אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH that נִקְרָ֥א SDBH bear שְׁמִ֖י SDBH My name עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם . . . נְאֻם־ SDBH declares יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi עֹ֥שֶׂה SDBH who will do זֹּֽאת׃פ SDBH this

That they may possess the she'erit Edom and all the Goyim, which are called by Shmi, saith Hashem that doeth this.

הִנֵּ֨ה Behold יָמִ֤ים SDBH the days בָּאִים֙ SDBH are coming נְאֻם־ SDBH declares יְהוָ֔ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וְנִגַּ֤שׁ SDBH will overtake חוֹרֵשׁ֙ SDBH when the plowman בַּקֹּצֵ֔ר SDBH the reaper וְדֹרֵ֥ךְ SDBH and the treader עֲנָבִ֖ים SDBH of grapes בְּמֹשֵׁ֣ךְ SDBH the sower הַזָּ֑רַע SDBH of seed וְהִטִּ֤יפוּ SDBH will drip הֶֽהָרִים֙ SDBH The mountains עָסִ֔יס SDBH with sweet wine וְכָל־ with which all הַגְּבָע֖וֹת SDBH the hills תִּתְמוֹגַֽגְנָה׃ SDBH will flow

Hinei, the yamim are coming, saith Hashem, that the plowman shall overtake the kotzer (reaper), and the treader of grapes him that soweth zera; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.

וְשַׁבְתִּי֮ SDBH I will restore אֶת־ SDBH - שְׁב֣וּת SDBH from captivity עַמִּ֣י SDBH My people יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ SDBH Israel וּבָנ֞וּ SDBH they will rebuild עָרִ֤ים SDBH cities נְשַׁמּוֹת֙ SDBH the ruined וְיָשָׁ֔בוּ SDBH and inhabit וְנָטְע֣וּ SDBH They will plant כְרָמִ֔ים SDBH vineyards וְשָׁת֖וּ SDBH and drink אֶת־ SDBH - יֵינָ֑ם SDBH their wine וְעָשׂ֣וּ SDBH they will make גַנּ֔וֹת SDBH gardens וְאָכְל֖וּ SDBH and eat אֶת־ SDBH - פְּרִיהֶֽם׃ SDBH their fruit

And I will bring again the captivity of My people Yisroel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant kramim (vineyards), and drink the yayin thereof; they shall also make gannot, and eat the p'ri of them.

וּנְטַעְתִּ֖ים SDBH I will firmly plant them עַל־ in אַדְמָתָ֑ם SDBH their own land וְלֹ֨א SDBH never יִנָּתְשׁ֜וּ SDBH to be uprooted ע֗וֹד again מֵעַ֤ל from אַדְמָתָם֙ SDBH the land אֲשֶׁ֣ר SDBH that נָתַ֣תִּי I have given לָהֶ֔ם them אָמַ֖ר SDBH says יְהוָ֥ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ SDBH your G-d

And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be torn up out of their land which I have given them, saith Hashem Eloheicha.
