לַמְנַצֵּ֣חַ SDBH For the choirmaster. [To the tune of] אַל־ vvv תַּ֭שְׁחֵת Do Not Destroy לְדָוִ֣ד SDBH of David מִכְתָּ֑ם SDBH A Miktam בְּבָרְח֥וֹ SDBH when he fled מִפְּנֵי־ from שָׁ֝א֗וּל SDBH Saul בַּמְּעָרָֽה׃ SDBH into the cave חָנֵּ֤נִי SDBH Have mercy on me אֱלֹהִ֨ים׀ SDBH O G-d חָנֵּ֗נִי SDBH have mercy כִּ֥י for בְךָ֮ in You חָסָ֪יָה SDBH takes refuge נַ֫פְשִׁ֥י SDBH my soul וּבְצֵֽל־ SDBH In the shadow כְּנָפֶ֥יךָ SDBH of Your wings אֶחְסֶ֑ה SDBH I will take shelter עַ֝֗ד SDBH until יַעֲבֹ֥ר SDBH has passed הַוּֽוֹת׃ SDBH the danger

(For the one directing. Set to Do Not Destroy. Mikhtam of Dovid, when he had fled from Sha'ul into the me'arah [cave]). Channeni, O Elohim, channeni; for my nefesh taketh refuge in Thee; yes, in the tzel (shadow) of Thy wings will I make my refuge, until these devastations pass by.

אֶ֭קְרָא SDBH I cry out לֵֽאלֹהִ֣ים SDBH to G-d עֶלְי֑וֹן SDBH Most High לָ֝אֵ֗ל SDBH to G-d גֹּמֵ֥ר SDBH who fulfills עָלָֽי׃ His purpose for me

I will cry out unto Elohim Elyon; unto El that fulfilleth all things for me.

יִשְׁלַ֤ח SDBH He reaches down מִשָּׁמַ֨יִם׀ SDBH from heaven וְֽיוֹשִׁיעֵ֗נִי SDBH and saves me חֵרֵ֣ף SDBH He rebukes שֹׁאֲפִ֣י SDBH those who trample me סֶ֑לָה SDBH Selah יִשְׁלַ֥ח SDBH sends forth אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים SDBH G-d חַסְדּ֥וֹ SDBH His loving devotion וַאֲמִתּֽוֹ׃ SDBH and His truth

He shall send from Shomayim, and save me from the disgrace of him that would swallow me up. Selah. Elohim shall send forth His chesed (lovingkindness) and His emes (truth).

נַפְשִׁ֤י׀ SDBH My soul בְּת֥וֹךְ SDBH [is] among לְבָאִם֮ SDBH the lions אֶשְׁכְּבָ֪ה SDBH I lie down לֹ֫הֲטִ֥ים SDBH with ravenous beasts בְּֽנֵי־ SDBH . . . אָדָ֗ם SDBH [with] men שִׁ֭נֵּיהֶם SDBH whose teeth חֲנִ֣ית SDBH are spears וְחִצִּ֑ים SDBH and arrows וּ֝לְשׁוֹנָ֗ם SDBH whose tongues חֶ֣רֶב SDBH swords חַדָּֽה׃ SDBH are sharp

My nefesh is among lions, and I lie even among them that devour Bnei Adam, whose shinayim (teeth) are spears and khitzim (arrows), and their leshon a sharp cherev.

ר֣וּמָה SDBH Be exalted עַל־ above הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם SDBH the heavens אֱלֹהִ֑ים SDBH O G-d עַ֖ל cover כָּל־ all הָאָ֣רֶץ SDBH the earth כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ SDBH may Your glory

Be Thou exalted, O Elohim, above Shomayim; let Thy kavod be above kol ha'aretz.

רֶ֤שֶׁת׀ SDBH a net הֵכִ֣ינוּ SDBH They spread לִפְעָמַי֮ SDBH for my feet כָּפַ֪ף SDBH was despondent נַ֫פְשִׁ֥י SDBH my soul כָּר֣וּ SDBH They dug לְפָנַ֣י before me שִׁיחָ֑ה SDBH a pit נָפְל֖וּ SDBH but they themselves have fallen בְתוֹכָ֣הּ SDBH into it סֶֽלָה׃ SDBH Selah

They have prepared a reshet (net) for my steps; my nefesh is bowed down; they have dug a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

נָ֘כ֤וֹן SDBH is steadfast לִבִּ֣י SDBH My heart אֱ֭לֹהִים SDBH O G-d נָכ֣וֹן SDBH is steadfast לִבִּ֑י SDBH my heart אָ֝שִׁ֗ירָה SDBH I will sing וַאֲזַמֵּֽרָה׃ SDBH and make music

My lev is nachon (steadfast), O Elohim, my lev is nachon; I will sing and make music.

ע֤וּרָה SDBH Awake כְבוֹדִ֗י SDBH my glory ע֭וּרָֽה SDBH Awake הַנֵּ֥בֶל SDBH O harp וְכִנּ֗וֹר SDBH and lyre אָעִ֥ירָה SDBH I will awaken שָּֽׁחַר׃ SDBH the dawn

Awake, my kavod (glory, soul, life); awake, nevel and kinnor; I myself will awake the shachar (dawn).

אוֹדְךָ֖ SDBH I will praise You בָעַמִּ֥ים׀ SDBH among the nations אֲדֹנָ֑י SDBH O Lord אֲ֝זַמֶּרְךָ֗ SDBH I will sing Your praises בַּל־ SDBH . . . אֻמִּֽים׃ SDBH among the peoples

I will give thanks unto Thee, Adonoi, among the peoples; I will sing of Thee among the peoples.

כִּֽי־ For גָדֹ֣ל SDBH reaches עַד־ SDBH to שָׁמַ֣יִם SDBH the heavens חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ SDBH Your loving devotion וְֽעַד־ SDBH and שְׁחָקִ֥ים SDBH to the clouds אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ SDBH Your faithfulness

For Thy chesed is gadol unto Shomayim, and Thy emes unto the heights.
