Tehillim 41 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ SDBH For the choirmaster מִזְמ֥וֹר SDBH A Psalm לְדָוִֽד׃ SDBH of David אַ֭שְׁרֵי SDBH Blessed מַשְׂכִּ֣יל SDBH [is] the one who cares אֶל־ for דָּ֑ל SDBH the poor בְּי֥וֹם SDBH in the day רָ֝עָ֗ה SDBH of trouble יְֽמַלְּטֵ֥הוּ SDBH will deliver him יְהוָֽה׃ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

(For the one directing, Mizmor of Dovid). [2(1)Blessed is he that considereth the helpless; Hashem will deliver him in time of ra'ah (evil, trouble).

יְהוָ֤ה׀ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi יִשְׁמְרֵ֣הוּ SDBH will protect וִֽ֭יחַיֵּהוּ SDBH and preserve him יֶאְשֹּׁר SDBH He will bless him בָּאָ֑רֶץ SDBH in the land וְאַֽל־ and refuse תִּ֝תְּנֵ֗הוּ to give him over בְּנֶ֣פֶשׁ SDBH to the will אֹיְבָֽיו׃ SDBH of his foes

Hashem will be shomer over him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed in ha'aretz; and Thou wilt not surrender him unto the desire of his enemies.

יְֽהוָ֗ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi יִ֭סְעָדֶנּוּ SDBH will sustain him עַל־ on עֶ֣רֶשׂ SDBH his bed דְּוָ֑י SDBH of illness כָּל־ . . . מִ֝שְׁכָּב֗וֹ SDBH from his bed הָפַ֥כְתָּ SDBH and restore him בְחָלְיֽוֹ׃ SDBH of sickness

Hashem will support him upon the sickbed; in his illness, all his bedridden languishing Thou wilt change (i.e., toward recovery).

אֲ‍ֽנִי־ SDBH I אָ֭מַרְתִּי SDBH said יְהוָ֣ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi חָנֵּ֑נִי SDBH be gracious to me רְפָאָ֥ה SDBH heal נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י SDBH me כִּי־ for חָטָ֥אתִי SDBH I have sinned לָֽךְ׃ against You

I said, Hashem, channeni (be gracious unto me); heal my nefesh; for I have sinned against Thee.

אוֹיְבַ֗י SDBH My enemies יֹאמְר֣וּ SDBH say רַ֣ע SDBH with malice לִ֑י מָתַ֥י SDBH When יָ֝מ֗וּת SDBH will he die וְאָבַ֥ד SDBH and be forgotten שְׁמֽוֹ׃ SDBH . . .

Mine enemies speak rah (evil) of me: When will he die, and shmo (his name) perish?

וְאִם־ SDBH My visitor בָּ֤א SDBH . . . לִרְא֨וֹת׀ SDBH . . . שָׁ֤וְא SDBH falsehood יְדַבֵּ֗ר SDBH speaks לִבּ֗וֹ SDBH heart יִקְבָּץ־ SDBH he gathers אָ֥וֶן SDBH slander ל֑וֹ in his יֵצֵ֖א SDBH he goes לַח֣וּץ SDBH out יְדַבֵּֽר׃ SDBH and spreads it abroad

And if one cometh to see me, he speaketh falsely; his lev gathereth wickedness to itself; when he goeth lachutz (outside, around) he telleth it.

יַ֗חַד SDBH . . . עָלַ֣י against me יִ֭תְלַחֲשׁוּ SDBH whisper כָּל־ All שֹׂנְאָ֑י SDBH who hate עָלַ֓י׀ me יַחְשְׁב֖וּ SDBH they imagine רָעָ֣ה SDBH the worst לִֽי׃ for me

All that hate me whisper together against me; against me do they devise my hurt.

דְּֽבַר־ SDBH disease בְּ֭לִיַּעַל SDBH A vile יָצ֣וּק SDBH has been poured בּ֑וֹ into him וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH from where שָׁ֝כַ֗ב SDBH he lies לֹא־ SDBH he will never יוֹסִ֥יף SDBH . . . לָקֽוּם׃ SDBH get up

A thing of beliya'al (a wicked fate, i.e., a terminal illness), say they, cleaveth fast unto him, that when he lieth he shall rise up no more.

גַּם־ SDBH Even אִ֤ישׁ SDBH my close friend שְׁלוֹמִ֨י׀ SDBH . . . אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH whom בָּטַ֣חְתִּי SDBH I trusted ב֭וֹ אוֹכֵ֣ל SDBH the one who shared לַחְמִ֑י SDBH my bread הִגְדִּ֖יל SDBH has lifted up עָלַ֣י against me עָקֵֽב׃ SDBH [his] heel

Yea, mine own ish shalom (familiar friend, close friend), in whom I trusted, which did eat of my lechem, hath lifted up his heel (i.e., deceitfully showed enmity) against me [see Yn 13:18].

וְאַתָּ֤ה SDBH But You יְהוָ֗ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi חָנֵּ֥נִי SDBH be gracious to me וַהֲקִימֵ֑נִי SDBH and raise me up וַֽאֲשַׁלְּמָ֥ה SDBH that I may repay לָהֶֽם׃ them

But Thou, O Hashem, channeni (be gracious, merciful unto me), and raise me up, that I may repay them.

בְּזֹ֣את SDBH By this יָ֭דַעְתִּי SDBH I know כִּֽי־ that חָפַ֣צְתָּ SDBH You delight בִּ֑י in me כִּ֤י for לֹֽא־ SDBH does not יָרִ֖יעַ SDBH triumph אֹיְבִ֣י SDBH my enemy עָלָֽי׃ over me

By this I know that Thou favorest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

וַאֲנִ֗י SDBH In my בְּ֭תֻמִּי SDBH integrity תָּמַ֣כְתָּ SDBH You uphold בִּ֑י me וַתַּצִּיבֵ֖נִי SDBH and set me לְפָנֶ֣יךָ in Your presence לְעוֹלָֽם׃ SDBH forever

And as for me, Thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before Thy face l'olam (forever).

בָּ֘ר֤וּךְ SDBH Blessed be יְהוָ֨ה׀ SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹ֘הֵ֤י SDBH the G-d יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל SDBH of Israel מֵֽ֭הָעוֹלָם SDBH from everlasting וְעַ֥ד SDBH to הָעוֹלָ֗ם SDBH everlasting אָ֘מֵ֥ן׀ SDBH Amen וְאָמֵֽן׃ SDBH and Amen
