It is the Kavod Elohim to conceal a thing, but the kavod melachim is to search out a matter.

שָׁמַ֣יִם SDBH As the heavens לָ֭רוּם SDBH are high וָאָ֣רֶץ SDBH and the earth לָעֹ֑מֶק SDBH is deep וְלֵ֥ב SDBH so the hearts מְ֝לָכִ֗ים SDBH of kings אֵ֣ין SDBH cannot חֵֽקֶר׃ SDBH be searched
The Shomayim for height, and Eretz for depth, so the lev melachim is unsearchable.

הָג֣וֹ SDBH Remove סִיגִ֣ים SDBH the dross מִכָּ֑סֶף SDBH from the silver וַיֵּצֵ֖א SDBH will come forth לַצֹּרֵ֣ף SDBH for a silversmith כֶּֽלִי׃ SDBH and a vessel
Take away the dross from the kesef, and there shall come forth a vessel for the tzoref (silversmith);

הָג֣וֹ SDBH Remove רָ֭שָׁע SDBH the wicked לִפְנֵי־ presence מֶ֑לֶךְ SDBH from the king’s וְיִכּ֖וֹן SDBH will be established בַּצֶּ֣דֶק SDBH in righteousness כִּסְאֽוֹ׃ SDBH and his throne
Take away the rasha from before Melech, and his kisse shall be established in tzedek.

אַל־ Do not תִּתְהַדַּ֥ר SDBH exalt yourself לִפְנֵי־ in the presence מֶ֑לֶךְ SDBH of the king וּבִמְק֥וֹם SDBH in the place גְּ֝דֹלִ֗ים SDBH of great [men] אַֽל־ and do not תַּעֲמֹֽד׃ SDBH stand
Do not exalt thyself in the presence of Melech, and stand not in the makom (place) of gedolim;
7
כִּ֤י for ט֥וֹב SDBH it is better אֲמָר־ SDBH that he says לְךָ֗ to you עֲ‍ֽלֵ֫ה SDBH Come up הֵ֥נָּה SDBH here מֵֽ֭הַשְׁפִּ֣ילְךָ SDBH than that you should be demoted לִפְנֵ֣י in the presence נָדִ֑יב SDBH of the prince אֲשֶׁ֖ר SDBH Even what רָא֣וּ SDBH you have seen עֵינֶֽיךָ׃ SDBH with your own eyes
For better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up here, than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the noble whom thine eynayim have seen.
Go not forth hastily to bring a lawsuit, lest thou know not what to do in the acharit thereof, when thy re'a hath put thee to shame.

רִֽ֭יבְךָ SDBH Argue רִ֣יב SDBH your case אֶת־ SDBH with רֵעֶ֑ךָ SDBH your neighbor וְס֖וֹד SDBH confidence אַחֵ֣ר SDBH another’s אַל־ without תְּגָֽל׃ SDBH betraying
Plead thy cause with thy re'a himself; and betray not a sod (confidence) to another,

Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and the evil report of thee never depart.
A word aptly spoken is like tapukhim (apples) of zahav in settings of kesef.

נֶ֣זֶם SDBH [Like] an earring זָ֭הָב SDBH of gold וַחֲלִי־ SDBH or an ornament כָ֑תֶם SDBH of fine gold מוֹכִ֥יחַ SDBH rebuke חָ֝כָ֗ם SDBH is a wise man’s עַל־ to אֹ֥זֶן SDBH ear שֹׁמָֽעַת׃ SDBH a listening
As a nezem (earring) of zahav, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a mochi'ach chacham (a wise reprover) upon an obedient ozen.

כְּצִנַּת־ SDBH Like the cold שֶׁ֨לֶג׀ SDBH of snow בְּי֬וֹם SDBH in the time קָצִ֗יר SDBH of harvest צִ֣יר SDBH messenger נֶ֭אֱמָן SDBH [is] a trustworthy לְשֹׁלְחָ֑יו SDBH to those who send him וְנֶ֖פֶשׁ SDBH the soul אֲדֹנָ֣יו SDBH of his masters יָשִֽׁיב׃פ SDBH he refreshes
As the cold of sheleg (snow) in the yom katzir (day of harvest), so is a tzir ne'eman (faithful envoy) to them that send him; for he refresheth the nefesh of his adonim.
He who boasteth falsely of giving is like clouds and ruach (wind) without geshem (rain).
By forbearance is a katzin (ruler) persuaded, and a gentle lashon breaketh the bone.
Hast thou found devash? Eat only as much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it out.
Let thy regel (foot) seldom be in thy neighbor's bais; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.

מֵפִ֣יץ SDBH [Like] a club וְ֭חֶרֶב SDBH or sword וְחֵ֣ץ SDBH arrow שָׁנ֑וּן SDBH or sharp אִ֥ישׁ SDBH [is] a man עֹנֶ֥ה SDBH who bears בְ֝רֵעֵ֗הוּ SDBH against his neighbor עֵ֣ד SDBH witness שָֽׁקֶר׃ SDBH false
An ish that beareth ed sheker (false witness) against his re'a is a club, and a cherev, and a sharp khetz (arrow).

שֵׁ֣ן SDBH tooth רֹ֭עָה SDBH [Like] a broken וְרֶ֣גֶל SDBH or a foot מוּעָ֑דֶת SDBH out of joint מִבְטָ֥ח SDBH is confidence בּ֝וֹגֵ֗ד SDBH in a faithless man בְּי֣וֹם SDBH in time צָרָֽה׃ SDBH of trouble
Confidence in a boged in the yom tzarah is like a shen ra'ah (bad tooth), and a regel out of joint.
20
מַ֥עֲדֶה SDBH [Like] one who removes בֶּ֨גֶד׀ SDBH a garment בְּי֣וֹם SDBH day קָ֭רָה SDBH on a cold חֹ֣מֶץ SDBH or vinegar עַל־ poured on נָ֑תֶר SDBH a wound וְשָׁ֥ר SDBH [is] one who sings בַּ֝שִּׁרִ֗ים SDBH songs עַ֣ל to לֶב־ SDBH heart רָֽע׃פ SDBH a heavy
As he that taketh away a beged (garment) on a cold day, and as chometz (vinegar) upon lye, so is he that singeth shirim (songs) to a lev rah (heavy heart, i.e., depressed person).
If thine enemy be hungry, give him lechem to eat, and if he be thirsty, give him mayim to drink;

כִּ֤י For [in so doing] גֶֽחָלִ֗ים SDBH burning coals אַ֭תָּה SDBH you חֹתֶ֣ה SDBH will heap עַל־ on רֹאשׁ֑וֹ SDBH his head וַֽ֝יהוָ֗ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi יְשַׁלֶּם־ SDBH will reward לָֽךְ׃ you
For so shalt thou heap hot coals upon his rosh, and Hashem shall reward thee.
The ruach tzafon (north wind) brings forth geshem; so doth a lashon seter (backbiting tongue) bring an angry countenance.

ט֗וֹב SDBH Better שֶׁ֥בֶת SDBH to live עַל־ on פִּנַּת־ SDBH a corner גָּ֑ג SDBH of the roof מֵאֵ֥שֶׁת SDBH wife מְדוֹנִים SDBH with a quarrelsome וּבֵ֥ית SDBH a house חָֽבֶר׃ SDBH than to share
It is better to dwell in the corner of the gag (roof), than in a bais shared with a quarrelsome isha.
As cold mayim to a weary nefesh, so is good news from a far country.
26
A tzaddik who falters before the rasha is like a muddy spring, and a polluted makor (fountain).
It is not tov to eat much devash; so for men to seek their own kavod is not glory.
He that hath no rule over his own ruach is like an ir that is broken down, and without a chomah (wall).
