Yonah 2 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֣ל SDBH prayed יוֹנָ֔ה SDBH Jonah אֶל־ to יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹהָ֑יו SDBH his G-d מִמְּעֵ֖י SDBH From inside הַדָּגָֽה׃ SDBH the fish

(2:2) Then Yonah davened unto Hashem Elohav from out of the dag's belly,

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר SDBH saying קָ֠רָאתִי SDBH I called מִצָּ֥רָה SDBH In my distress לִ֛י אֶל־ to יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi וַֽיַּעֲנֵ֑נִי SDBH and He answered me מִבֶּ֧טֶן SDBH From the belly שְׁא֛וֹל SDBH of Sheol שִׁוַּ֖עְתִּי SDBH I called for help שָׁמַ֥עְתָּ SDBH [and] You heard קוֹלִֽי׃ SDBH my voice

And said, I cried by reason of mine tzoros unto Hashem, He heard me; out of the belly of Sheol cried I, and Thou heardest my voice.

וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵ֤נִי SDBH For You cast me מְצוּלָה֙ SDBH into the deep בִּלְבַ֣ב SDBH into the heart יַמִּ֔ים SDBH of the seas וְנָהָ֖ר SDBH and the current יְסֹבְבֵ֑נִי SDBH swirled about me כָּל־ all מִשְׁבָּרֶ֥יךָ SDBH Your breakers וְגַלֶּ֖יךָ SDBH and waves עָלַ֥י over me עָבָֽרוּ׃ SDBH swept

For Thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the yamim (seas); and the current swirled about me; all Thy billows and Thy waves passed over me.

וַאֲנִ֣י SDBH At this, I אָמַ֔רְתִּי SDBH said נִגְרַ֖שְׁתִּי SDBH I have been banished מִנֶּ֣גֶד from עֵינֶ֑יךָ SDBH Your sight אַ֚ךְ SDBH yet אוֹסִ֣יף SDBH once more לְהַבִּ֔יט SDBH I will look אֶל־ toward הֵיכַ֖ל SDBH temple קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃ SDBH Your holy

Then I said, I am cast out of Thy sight; yet I will look again toward Thy Heikhal Kodesh.

אֲפָפ֤וּנִי SDBH engulfed me מַ֙יִם֙ SDBH The waters עַד־ SDBH to take נֶ֔פֶשׁ SDBH my life תְּה֖וֹם SDBH the watery depths יְסֹבְבֵ֑נִי SDBH closed around me ס֖וּף SDBH the seaweed חָב֥וּשׁ SDBH wrapped לְרֹאשִֽׁי׃ SDBH around my head

The mayim compassed me about, even to the nefesh; the depth closed me round about, the seaweed were wrapped about my head.

לְקִצְבֵ֤י SDBH To the roots הָרִים֙ SDBH of the mountains יָרַ֔דְתִּי SDBH I descended הָאָ֛רֶץ SDBH the earth בְּרִחֶ֥יהָ SDBH barred me in בַעֲדִ֖י SDBH beneath me לְעוֹלָ֑ם SDBH forever וַתַּ֧עַל SDBH But You raised מִשַּׁ֛חַת SDBH from the pit חַיַּ֖י SDBH my life יְהוָ֥ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֱלֹהָֽי׃ SDBH my G-d

I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; ha'aretz with her bars closed behind me l'olam; yet hast Thou brought up my life from shachat (corruption; see Ps 16:10), Hashem Elohai.

בְּהִתְעַטֵּ֤ף SDBH was fading away עָלַי֙ . . . נַפְשִׁ֔י SDBH As my life אֶת־ SDBH - יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi זָכָ֑רְתִּי SDBH I remembered וַתָּב֤וֹא SDBH went up אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ to You תְּפִלָּתִ֔י SDBH My prayer אֶל־ to הֵיכַ֖ל SDBH temple קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃ SDBH Your holy

When my nefesh fainted within me, I remembered Hashem; and my tefillah came unto Thee, into Thine Heikhal Kodesh.

מְשַׁמְּרִ֖ים SDBH Those who cling to הַבְלֵי־ SDBH idols שָׁ֑וְא SDBH worthless חַסְדָּ֖ם SDBH [His] loving devotion יַעֲזֹֽבוּ׃ SDBH forsake

They that observe lying vanities forsake their own chesed.

וַאֲנִ֗י SDBH But I בְּק֤וֹל SDBH with the voice תּוֹדָה֙ SDBH of thanksgiving אֶזְבְּחָה־ SDBH will sacrifice לָּ֔ךְ to You אֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH what נָדַ֖רְתִּי SDBH I have vowed אֲשַׁלֵּ֑מָה SDBH I will fulfill יְשׁוּעָ֖תָה SDBH Salvation לַיהוָֽה׃ס SDBH Hashem/Adonoi

But I will sacrifice unto Thee with the voice of todah; I will pay that which I have vowed. Yeshuah (Salvation) is from Hashem.

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר SDBH commanded יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi לַדָּ֑ג SDBH the fish וַיָּקֵ֥א SDBH and it vomited אֶת־ SDBH - יוֹנָ֖ה SDBH Jonah אֶל־ onto הַיַּבָּשָֽׁה׃פ SDBH dry land

And Hashem spoke unto HaDag (The Fish), and it vomited out Yonah upon the yabashah (dry land).
