Yechezkel 15 — Hebrew–OJB Interlinear

וַיְהִ֥י came דְבַר־ SDBH Then the word יְהוָ֖ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi אֵלַ֥י to me לֵאמֹֽר׃ SDBH saying

And the Devar Hashem came unto me, saying,

בֶּן־ SDBH Son אָדָ֕ם SDBH of man מַה־ SDBH how יִּֽהְיֶ֥ה does עֵץ־ SDBH the wood הַגֶּ֖פֶן SDBH of the vine מִכָּל־ surpass עֵ֑ץ SDBH any [other] הַזְּמוֹרָ֕ה SDBH branch אֲשֶׁ֥ר SDBH - הָיָ֖ה - בַּעֲצֵ֥י SDBH among the trees הַיָּֽעַר׃ SDBH in the forest

Ben adam, how is the etz hagefen (wood of the grapevine) better than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

הֲיֻקַּ֤ח SDBH be taken מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ from it עֵ֔ץ SDBH Can wood לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת SDBH to make לִמְלָאכָ֑ה SDBH something useful אִם־ SDBH Or יִקְח֤וּ SDBH can one make מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ from it יָתֵ֔ד SDBH a peg לִתְל֥וֹת SDBH to hang עָלָ֖יו on which כָּל־ vvv כֶּֽלִי׃ SDBH utensils

Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? Or will men take a yated (peg) of it to hang any vessel thereon?

הִנֵּ֥ה No לָאֵ֖שׁ SDBH into the fire נִתַּ֣ן it is cast לְאָכְלָ֑ה SDBH for fuel אֵת֩ SDBH - שְׁנֵ֨י SDBH both קְצוֹתָ֜יו SDBH ends אָכְלָ֤ה SDBH devours הָאֵשׁ֙ SDBH The fire וְתוֹכ֣וֹ SDBH and the middle נָחָ֔ר SDBH is charred הֲיִצְלַ֖ח SDBH Can it be useful לִמְלָאכָֽה׃ SDBH for anything

Hinei, it is cast into the eish for fuel; the eish devoureth both the ends of it, and the middle of it is charred. Is it fit for any melachah (work)?

הִנֵּה֙ Even בִּֽהְיוֹת֣וֹ when it was תָמִ֔ים SDBH whole לֹ֥א SDBH it could not יֵֽעָשֶׂ֖ה SDBH be made לִמְלָאכָ֑ה SDBH useful אַ֣ף SDBH How much less כִּי־ when אֵ֤שׁ SDBH the fire אֲכָלַ֙תְהוּ֙ SDBH has consumed it וַיֵּחָ֔ר SDBH and charred it וְנַעֲשָׂ֥ה SDBH be ע֖וֹד can it ever לִמְלָאכָֽה׃ס SDBH useful

Hinei, when it was tamim (whole), it was fit for no work; how much less shall it be fit yet for any work, when the eish hath devoured it, and it is charred?

לָכֵ֗ן SDBH Therefore כֹּ֤ה this is what אָמַר֙ SDBH says אֲדֹנָ֣י SDBH the Lord יְהוִ֔ה SDBH G-D כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר SDBH Like עֵץ־ SDBH the wood הַגֶּ֙פֶן֙ SDBH of the vine בְּעֵ֣ץ SDBH among the trees הַיַּ֔עַר SDBH of the forest אֲשֶׁר־ SDBH which נְתַתִּ֥יו I have given לָאֵ֖שׁ SDBH to the fire לְאָכְלָ֑ה SDBH for fuel כֵּ֣ן SDBH so נָתַ֔תִּי I will give up אֶת־ SDBH - יֹשְׁבֵ֖י SDBH the people יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ SDBH of Jerusalem

Therefore thus saith Adonoi Hashem: As the etz hagefen among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the eish for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Yerushalayim.

וְנָתַתִּ֤י And I will set אֶת־ SDBH פָּנַי֙ My face בָּהֶ֔ם against them מֵהָאֵ֣שׁ SDBH the fire יָצָ֔אוּ SDBH Though they may have escaped וְהָאֵ֖שׁ SDBH yet another fire תֹּֽאכְלֵ֑ם SDBH will consume them וִֽידַעְתֶּם֙ SDBH you will know כִּֽי־ that אֲנִ֣י SDBH I [am] יְהוָ֔ה SDBH Hashem/Adonoi בְּשׂוּמִ֥י SDBH And when I set אֶת־ SDBH פָּנַ֖י My face בָּהֶֽם׃ against them

And I will set My face against them; they shall go out from one eish, and another eish shall devour them; and ye shall have da'as that I am Hashem, when I set My face against them.

וְנָתַתִּ֥י Thus I will make אֶת־ SDBH - הָאָ֖רֶץ SDBH the land שְׁמָמָ֑ה SDBH desolate יַ֚עַן SDBH because מָ֣עֲלוּ SDBH they have acted unfaithfully מַ֔עַל SDBH . . . נְאֻ֖ם SDBH declares אֲדֹנָ֥י SDBH the Lord יְהוִֽה׃פ SDBH G-D

And I will make ha'aretz desolate, because they have committed ma'al (unfaithfulness, betrayal of a trust), saith Adonoi Hashem.
