The called are called from Heaven to Heaven. This page gathers, in canonical order, every place the Greek New Testament names that destination directly — the word οὐρανός itself in full, then the wider cluster of words that describe the believer’s heavenly calling, inheritance, dwelling place, and glory.
Layer 1 — οὐρανός / οὐρανοί (“heaven / heavens”), every one of its 281 occurrences, plus ἐπουράνιος (“heavenly,” 19x), παράδεισος (“paradise,” 3x), μονή (“dwelling place,” John 14:2,23), and πολίτευμα (“citizenship,” Phil 3:20) — words that mean Heaven in every occurrence, taken whole.
Layer 2 — words that are not always about Heaven, filtered to the occurrences that are: θρόνος (every divine/heavenly throne, not David’s or the beast’s); ἄνωθεν / ἄνω (“from above” in the theological sense — born ἄνωθεν, “I am from above,” “Jerusalem above” — not the torn veil or “from the beginning”); ἁρπάζω (only the four “caught up” texts: 2 Cor 12:2,4; 1 Thess 4:17; Rev 12:5); πατρίς (only Heb 11:14’s heavenly homeland); οἰκητήριον; κληρονομία (the saints’ heavenly inheritance, not the parables’ earthly ones); κλῆσις (the heavenly calling, not 1 Cor 7:20’s social station); and Ἰερουσαλήμ only where it names the heavenly city (Gal 4:26; Heb 12:22; Rev 3:12; 21:2,10), not the ~90 references to the earthly city.
Layer 3 — δόξα (“glory”), 65 of its 167 occurrences: the believer’s future glory, Christ’s heavenly/eschatological glory, the Transfiguration, the resurrection body, and the glory of the New Jerusalem itself. Excluded: doxological formulas (“to Him be glory”), God’s glory described in general or present terms, and worldly splendor.
Layer 4 — ὕψιστος (“Most High” / “[the] highest”), all 13 occurrences, taken whole — like ἐπουράνιος, this word has no mundane sense in the New Testament; it always names God or the heavenly heights (“Hosanna in the highest”; “glory to God in the highest”; “Son of the Most High”).
Two minor textual variants found only in isolated manuscript witnesses (an extra ἄνω at Rev 5:3; an extra θρόνου at Rev 11:16), essentially untranslated in any Bible, were left out as not properly part of the text.
